He was very friendly. I got there just a few minutes before he closed, & he was out of almost everything. He no longer makes sausage. I was disappointed about that.

Went to David’s today. Sadly will be the last time. Owner was rather rude, most refrigerated areas were empty and very little choice. Then to top it off there is a 4% service charge for using a card. Will be driving to Hirsch in Plano from now on!

This review is purely based on customer service. As a small business owner myself, I hate to leave a bad review, especially to a small business. But the customer service was bad enough to warrant it in this case.
Back story, a friend I served in the Navy with told me about a butcher near him where he buys whole beef rib portions and brings it home to cut his own ribeyes out of it and saves a few dollars per pound. I thought this was a great idea! We like strips in our house and David’s meat market has been there forever so I stopped in to see how much a whole short loin would be.
The guy scoffed at me and acted like I offended him for even asking such a question, then says, “nah, I’m not a wholesaler” while shaking his head and very obviously frustrated. I said, “Oh, well do you know where I can find one?” He basically cut me off and says very sharply and smug as if I’m completely wasting his time, “Costco. Sam’s Club” while shrugging his shoulders. I replied, “Well, I was trying to find a better quality meat than that. I’m just trying to save a few dollars but still feed my family good quality beef.” He offered me some choice cuts for $127 for 5 pounds.
I left.
I called Hirsch’s Meat Market up in Plano and they were willing to sell the whole short loin, provided great customer service, and were far more cost friendly. What they didn’t do, is make me feel stupid for trying to consult an expert.
I’ll never go to or recommend David’s Meat Market, purely based on customer service alone.

Pre-smoked whole barbecue chickens for under $10. need I say more ?really everything from there is top quality, I'd get 100% of my stuff from there if it wasn't just a little more expensive. gotta save up, but every time im in town I come by and live it up.

Have been going here since I moved to area in 1992. Beef & pork are always superior. Great selection of homemade sausages. Rib roast and crown roast of pork for holidays are great. I also love that they trim and wrap as you request on certain cuts. All their beef is corn fed Iowa beef - to me it tastes much better than grass fed beef. Service is great also and can place phone orders. Highly recommend.

I have used this market since the current owner's father taught me how to cook meat as a young wife. Today I learned the current owner has lost all his employees and the business is rapidly failing. If you love this place then buy some meat to help out this young owner!

It was my first time going there today and let’s just say it brought back beautiful memories of back home in Louisiana. It’s very family oriented and they will guide you on the selections of meat they have and also offer really good deals on large quantities. Always remember QUALITY OVER QUANTITY

Something is extremely wrong with this place. I was there on a Saturday at 3:00pm and the place was completely empty..... (First Red Flag). I walked in and no employees could be found anywhere..... (Second Red flag). All of their steaks were wrapped in plastic wrap which seemed very odd to me..... (Third Red Flag). I've never seen a butcher shop do that to their steaks. Their hamburger meat looked like it had been sitting in their display case for days. Kind of gray looking and it smelled really funky when I got it home..... (Fourth Red Flag).I purchased two basic looking Choice Ribeye steaks and three pounds of 80/20 hamburger meat for $103.00 dollars!!!!!((((((( ARE YOU FREAKING KIDDING ME )))))))Where do they get off charging these outrageous prices? I could have gotten two cooked ribeye steak dinners at Saltgrass Steakhouse with two salads, two fully dressed baked potatoes, two orders of steamed vegetables, unlimited freshly made iced tea, unlimited fresh bread, two pieces of New York cheese cake and unlimited coffee for what I paid at this place. NEVER, EVER, NEVER, EVER AGAIN.
