As a black man, this "Dairy Way" convenience store/ "Valero" gas station forced me to remove my respiratory protective mask, if I wanted to remain inside of the store, and if I wanted to make a purchase. There are individuals who have respiratory issues not withstanding COVID-19 risks, who wears a protective respiratory mask daily for medically related purposes.I have personally observed individuals of other races and nationalities who have entered and remained in the store, and who have made purchases while wearing a protective respiratory mask, but for some reason the mask covering my black face has created a fear for the owner of the store. The cashier, asserts that COVID-19, is over. The cashier is not a medical doctor, and cannot legally make such a call. The reason for the success of the old gas station is "location" proximity convenience only. The old gas station has no immediate competition nearby, driving the stores success. Before you spend your hard earned money there, especially as someone who may be black or of dark completion, know that the owner of this old store will risk compromising your freedom of choice to wear a medical respiratory mask, jeapordizing your health and safety, by forcing you to remove a respiratory mask, due to preconceived notions, if you'd like to make a purchase and remain inside of the old store. If I were you, like I will do from this day forward, and especially if you are black or of dark completion, I'd travel the extra 1/4-1/2 mile down the road on S Garland Rd., to spend my money at the Racetrac. The Racetrac on S. Garland Rd. has convenience store cashiers, not an owner working as the cashier, who purports to be a M.D., while also restricting the use of protective respiratory masks and personal autonomy, because they assume a black person wearing a mask is a threat for some reason or another.Racial overtones.

Nice store. The just remodeled. New owners but still very nice people. Restaurant inside with tacos etc. Menudo on weekends. Food not as good as it was before remodel. Not a very big variety of chips at all, but they had cat litter. That was great. They are very friendly.

New owners are friendly and the remodel makes the place look nicer. They sell more hispanic food and basic home stuff now as well as laundry supplies for the laundry mat next door. They have a bigger selection of snacks and ice cream now. I miss the lil debbies snacks tho
