I’ve had good experiences with the staff and team.
My issue is with the scheduling. Almost every time that I tried to schedule a wellness - first it was establishing care, then yearly wellness examinations - they have called me to reschedule multiple times. The first time, it took like 6-8 months to get in after my initially scheduled appointment because they had to keep rescheduling me (due to their conflicts, not mine). I just got a call this morning that my 8am appointment had to be rescheduled. Quite frustrating when I’ve scheduled way in advance to get an early morning appointment with the MD. Now I have to scramble and pick whatever is left available in the year, with whomever is available, and with limited times, on the few select days I’m off work.
If it wasn’t for the convenience of the BSW network and good medical team, I would find somewhere else.

Awesome staff. Answered all my questions and put me at ease while explaining issues and medications.

Doctors, PAs and staff are great. The facility itself seems to go out of its way to make sure wheelchairs are NOT welcome or accommodated. Every possible space that a wheelchair might occupy is either a chair, or they want you to basically sit in the thoroughfare.

I went to appointment for physical examination with Dr. Nankervis yesterday, 8/12/24. First let me start about the check in. I was greeted by everyone there. Since I was in crutches I was asked if I needed a wheelchair, I turned down the offer but was very happy to have been offered the assistance. I then proceeded to go in waiting area which was clean and quiet. I only had to wait a few minutes then nurse Maria called my name and I was taken back into patient clinic. Maria is such a delightful person, along with her smile she always makes me feel comfortable. After getting temperature and blood pressure taken she asked many questions regarding my health. Along with her perfect customer service Maria is a very caring nurse. I then saw my Dr who is Dr. Nankervis, she proceeded to listen and I mean really listen to all my health issues and concerns. She didn’t rush me or make me feel like I had to rush. She asked questions and made me feel very confident in my visit. When I finally got all my information I then left that is when leaving that I realized that I am very blessed to be part of this care to this wonderful healthcare. Thank everyone at BSandWhite, Especially to Maria, my nurse and Dr Nankervis. I will definitely recommend this place to anyone!

I was scheduled for long overdue physical today with Dr. Chene Smith. I scheduled the appointment on May 21- I waited to get in until 7/24. I am a teacher and already started back to school in-services this week. I received an email reminder and a web check in prior to my visit. I went to the appointment. I did the check in process at the front desk. I was there at 10:40 early for my 11:00 appt time. I waited and waited and waited in the waiting room. Finally I asked someone at the desk if they could check for me. They disappeared and about 10-15 min later Dr. Smiths nurse came out to tell me that she is no longer seeing new patients and that my appointment should not have been allowed to be booked. She then said I could come back at 3:00 pm and see another doctor. I am appalled that a mistake on the fault of Baylor became my problem. I left for the office without so much as an apology or we will squeeze you in. I am saddened that my health is now on hold, and I really don’t even understand how this is allowed to happen. I put off all summer seeing a doctor because I had an appt scheduled. I researched and thought Dr. Smith was a good fit with excellent reviews. I made an appointment and showed up to be told no she won’t see you. How does this happen?

The negligent and inadequate care I received from Raechel Paterson and her BSW team resulted in delays to my medical treatment. The delays to my medical treatment likely contributed to not making a full recovery. Avoid the BSW primary care system at all costs.

I stopped by for lab. My phlebotomist, Elisabeth, is extremely skillful and kind. I am usually nervous about the needles. I just felt a small pinch today, and the procedure was over before I realized.

Doctors and nurses are amazing. However if you need blood work or X-rays you might be in trouble. I’ve had to bring a couple of friends back for blood work because they didn’t take all the blood they needed the first time. Now I’ve got someone here that has had to wait for over an hour to get an xray. They were told that they had to wait for the orders. So now we have to drive home and come back when they get orders to see if she has pneumonia.

I've been with BSW for probably 26 years. I've had a few different providers do to them moving or leaving BSW, but have had great experiences.I have been very, very pleased with my NP but do wish it was easier to see your doctor. The wait times to schedule an appt for can be weeks. The only other thing I do not care for is that patients have to go to Touchstone for an X-Ray. It's incredibly more expenisve than the in office x-rays services and you then have to wait days for someone to even look at it and send results to your doctor. It it much more timely and cost effective to patients for that to be done in house and it's a bit baffling that such a large clinic doesn't do x-rays themselves.

After visiting for my annual physical I was approached by a nurse who continued to insinuate that I was without a car. Although, I had my car keys IN MY HANDS, the nurse continuously mentioned that the hospital pays for free transportation by bus??? Not only was her suggestion for a free ride random but after she brought it up I had to mention several times that I not only live 2 minutes away in luxury apartments THAT I WORK HARD TO LIVE IN but that I have my own transportation?????? I can’t say that I’m surprised that someone would mistake me for a person that should be living in the hood because my own complex does it & I’ve been living there for over 3 years, but discriminating me while I’m at an appointment regarding my health is crazy. Once I find the name of the nurse who I spoke to I will be leaving a more personal review because I guarantee if she were to be speaking to an old white couple she wouldn’t have mentioned that the hospital pays for free transportation via the city bus! Please stop assuming someone is below you just because of their skin tone.

Providers seemed nice enough, but lack of medical knowledge and poor patient care - see below:I had an appointment with NP Bulls to establish care and for a physical exam. When she arrived late to the appointment one of the first thing she says to me when she enters the room is that she is going to order "routine lab work to check my kidneys, liver, cholesterol, blood sugar and thyroid". This may be appropriate for an older patient or someone with medical conditions, but as someone under 30 with no medical conditions other than being overweight and with normal labs 3 years ago - this is not indicated. I am a healthcare professional myself (which I don't bring up to my providers unless it comes up or there is a discrepancy in recommendations). I mentioned to her that these labs are not indicated and she argued with me about it. She then tried to use my weight as a reason they were needed, which is not accurate given my age and prior normal labs. She then proceeded to say "Well you don't have to get them if you don't want to", so I declined the labs. She was in the room for a total of 3-5 minutes at max. She did not ask me any personal questions about myself. Then after accusing me of being obese to persuade me to get the labs (which were not indicated), she did not ask me a single thing about my weight, lifestyle, diet or exercise. This is poor medical care. Please look up the AAFP and USPSTF recommendations.
