I have loved this shop since I was a little girl in the 90’s. Awesome clothing store in the Texas coast ?

We have been to this restaurant numerous times, as we have a place on the island. This week, we went again. Wife ordered Coconut Shrimp - a dish she has ordered probably half a dozen times. This time, the chef decided - without any annotation on the menu - to add almonds to the dish. Well, my wife is severely allergic to certain tree nuts, including almonds. Luckily, she saw them, called the waitress over and inquired - the waitress did confirm those were almonds after the fact, said she mentioned it to the manager/owner(?), and that they would make sure that doesn't happen again. Anyway, without a visit by the manager, no additional concern shown, we got our full bill (including a charge for the almond laden bill). Not ones to be for much drama, we paid our bill, tipped our waitress, and left - never to return and to make sure everyone we talk to knows of our experience.

This store has been around for quite some time, so I was very surprised to find that it was not listed on TripAdvisor, so I sent it in as a suggestion to TA and now it is listed. So, I am honored to write the first review. They have beautiful, unique, colorful and many very comical t-shirts and hats. My pictures that I am including will give you a good idea. I will note that their sizes run large. To me a medium is a large and a large is an extra large. On my first visit a long time ago, there was a shirt I really wanted, there were no smalls, so I got a medium. It was too big for me, but I loved it, so I bought it and wore it for lounge-around-days or morning walks to exercise. When we made plans to have a “close-by staycation” in Galveston, I said we must go to the Yaga t-shirt store, so we did. This time I hit the jackpot as they had the small size in all the t-shirts. The guy checking me out said they don’t get smalls that often, so I really lucked out. I was able to give my medium to my husband and by myself a small one, so yea-haw! One of the things we really like about their shirts is that there is a big design on the back and only a small design on the front. So the photos show the front and the back of each shirt.

My favorite place to shop, while visiting Galveston! Top quality clothing and really cool t-shirts! Very helpful and courteous staff! Please stop and shop at this amazing, locally owned store.

Let's face it, its 105 degrees outside and this place is packed. Its gimmicky with some downright questionable items on display, but you can find decent gifts and souvenirs here.

Beautiful things to buy, but not worth the trip to this store. The clothes are too expensive! The staff is SUPER UNFRIENDLY. They hover over you as if you are a thief. I will never darken their door again. If I were out for a relaxing day of shopping I would skip this store completely.

I bought my husband two cotton and linen blend island print shirts here for Christmas and he loves them. He's planning on wearing them on our vacation this coming summer and wants to go back and buy some white pants here to go with them. I also bought a cute summer print dress, an adorable white shoulder tie sundress, white shirt and two white crop pants for myself for our trip and love them. In Texas, we'll get to wear these a lot throughout the year because of the heat.

I was so excited to visit the Yaga store, but the clerks were all awful. They stared at me and my kids the whole time as if we were going to break or steal something. One got onto my daughter for sitting on a ledge in the store. Very uncomfortable. I didn't buy anything. Sad because Yaga is a bit of HS nostalgia, and I was so excited to get a shirt.
