“I stayed with my sister that was being helped by FEMA from June 3 to June 5 and I’m visiting from the state of Fort Lauderdale Florida& I love this place. It was very clean the pool area we loved it. I love them were very comfortable room is very spacious. The cleaning crew are very polite even the man, Mr. Ali, very polite very nice man. I would recommend anyone to come and stay at this place. I loved it and I shall come back and look forward to staying at the Candlewood suites in Galveston thank you to the front desk y’all were awesome. God bless.

“This is a beautiful old hotel, redone and styled in a grand look. We had absolutely no problems with our July 4th stay. We were there just a short time and did not experience many of the amenities such as the pool, hot tub, or restaurant. We did use room service and was pleasantly surprised how tasty the food was and impressed it only took 20 minutes to receive. The rooms are smaller than many comparable hotels, but not uncomfortably so. Efficient use of space with beautiful white marble bath. The location is great. Easy access to the ocean, shopping and dining.”

“Our family had a good experience in this hotel. Food was good, staff was friendly. For the kids we had the pyramids nearby, and we were 40 min away from Kemah attractions. Rooms are dated in some parts, but did not impacted the overall experience.”

“Avenue O was the perfect stay for our night before our cruise! Polly and Jeff are very friendly and welcoming. They have beautiful renovated rooms in a cute historic house and a delicious breakfast. The location is just a couple blocks from the beach and all of the local restaurants. They had great recommendations. They also allowed us to park our car on their property during the run of our cruise. Jeff dropped us off and picked us up from the terminal all while giving us a run down of what to expect since this was our 1st cruise. He also told us about some of the historical sights in Galveston as we drove. Their hospitality was exceptional and we would definitely stay here again if visiting Galveston!”
