Wagabonz
2002 The Strand Suite 100, GalvestonThis is easily mine and my Frenchie's favourite dog spa/bakery/boutique! Their homemade treats are on another level... not only healthy and delicious for the dogs but so creative. They keep classic favourites in stock but also make seasonal new treats all the time. They carry other treat/food brands, toys, collars/leashes, and so many other great items that will enhance your dog's life - and the prices are great across the board. You're way better off spending money here than at a chain store. The spa services are top notch. Rest assured your pup will be spoiled silly! And for those like me who enjoy going the extra mile on spoils... Wagabonz offers activities and photoshoots that often correspond with the time of year that are way too much fun to do with your best friend. There are those that care for your dog and then there are those that you can tell truly pour love into them... and that's Wagabonz.

Fistein Lea DVM
701 Broadway Avenue J #5597, GalvestonWe are on vacation and my Yorkie got a goathead burr in his paw. He wouldn't let me pull it. If you have ever seen a vicious Yorkie, he was all teeth. I called the vet (Fistein Lea DVM) and the worked him right in. Super nice people in the office.. When they brought him back out they said "no charge) I couldn't be more pleased. If I lived here I would have Dr. Fistein as Mt full time vet.

BoneVoyage Pet Resort
6928 Harborside Dr, GalvestonMy fur baby stayed for 8 days while we went on our cruise. She was in high spirits to see us and she ate her food. I was afraid of her being depressed while away from her family. She’s had bad experiences at other boarding places but this one she seemed to be happy and came back to us healthy. I am very pleased with her stay and I feel she was safe and well looked after with all the play dates we had set up. And her human grandmother could call in to check on her.

Koop's BBQ Kitchen
4501 Broadway Avenue J, GalvestonAgain, we were guided to a treasure by locals who knew where to go. Koops was an amazing lunch place with the best BBQ I have ever had. My Beef Brisket sandwich was perfect, without any additional sauces or flavours added. The Potato Salad was the perfect accompaniment to go with the slaw and brisket! My wife had 3 Beef Brisket tacos, which meant I got to try 2 of them the next day at lunch? as it was more than she could eat. Our friends had Beef Brisket with slaw and a Stuffed Baked Potato that she says was amazing. We will be returning before our departure for Canada.

Shykatz
1528 Avenue L, GalvestonWe heard this was the place to go for breakfast so we stopped on our way out if town. Atmosphere was quaint and friendly! I had the BLT which was as expected so I was happy. My husband, on the other hand, had the Smuggler and the hostess recommended the sausage gravy topping. He said the burrito was fabulous but ruined by the sausage gravy. If you are a sausage gravy fan, do not order this as you will be disappointed. He said the sausage in the gravy was so heavily coated with flour, you couldn't taste the sausage. Due to that, the gravy did not have that sausagy flavor you are looking for. My husband is a cook and true foodie, so I trust his review.

Smooth Tony's Juice & Smoothie Bar
902 Postoffice St, GalvestonAfter hearing about the place, I decided to give it a try on a weekday afternoon shortly after lunch! When walking in, Tony greeted us and was super friendly and welcoming, explaining the different options and additions you can add to the drinks. I ordered a regular sized smoothie with strawberry and pineapple! It was incredibly fresh, and I saw them put real fruit in the blender when preparing the drink. I really liked how you can choose the base (milk, OJ, or banana), and there's different types of milk too. Although the price is pretty high compared to other dessert drinks (like $5 for boba vs. $7/9 for a smoothie here), I think it's definitely worth it because of how fresh it is. There a small space indoors to sit, but we choose to sit outside to enjoy the fresh air, and there's many benches/tables to sit at. The place itself is very quaint and is a home. There is street parking around the block and street. The entrance is up the stairs, and it may be hard to figure out where it is if it's your first time there. Overall, it is a great place with fresh fruit and drinks with great service!

Galveston Island Humane Society
6814 Broadway St, GalvestonHad a possum "move in" to a storage area. I could not get him out. Called the shelter and was told they had animal traps that I could borrow. The staff was very helpful. They explained how to use the trap. Over night, I had the possum trapped, and then I released him back out into the yard. I'm so glad they have this service available. While at the shelter, I saw they had lots of cats and dogs available for adoption. Please visit and/or donate if you can. It's a great organization.
