This was the dirtiest place you could imagine with mold on the bathroom door. The guy behind the counter was very rude. I still haven't got our $50 deposit back. Stay somewhere else if you can. Avoid this place. We only stayed due to a cruise we were on.

Found and paid with Agoda. Get there, guy tells me, "$50 deposit" and points to his printed sign on the wall.
It's a ripoff.
I didn't stay and Agoda and OYO should be ashamed of their idea for a trap - no cancellation + $50 "deposit" at the door? I will not reward your thievishness.
I have words for you but they're not allowed here.

Couldn’t book the room the front desk talking so fast and being so rude with an accent on top of that don’t come here and work if you can’t have patience to explain the ratings lost a weekly paying customer due to lack of patience and professionalism
Noteworthy details: Nasty front desk rep

I called and told the hotel we would be there for a late checkin. Showed up and it was closed. We had to scramble to find a new hotel. Wouldnt recommend this place if it was free.

For our recent trip to Galveston TX, I booked two nights through Capital One Travel, December 26th & 27th, at the Island Inn By OYO Galveston Beach, TX, 6311 Central City Boulevard, Galveston, Texas 77551.
We arrived at 3:38pm and walked to the front door. It was locked, and we could see a man asleep on a couch inside. When he woke up he unlocked the door and let us in so we could check in. He took a $50 deposit and gave us our room key.
We drove around the back of the motel, and entered the room. The room was bare with old furniture with broken drawers, and a filthy couch. The bed was only a few inches off the floor, it had crumpled sheets, and the pillows had obviously been slept on. When we pulled up the sheet, the mattress was covered in brown red rust colored spots along the edges and it was covered with stains. The walls were dingy and stained, the carpet was dirty and looked as though it hadn't been cleaned for some time. And the smell - it smelled stale, like smoke, mold, and body odor. We did not make it as far as the bathroom before we turned around and went back outside, so we don't know its condition. This room was filthy and disgusting.
At 4:06pm I was sitting in my car on the phone with Capital One Travel asking what my options were as I could not and would not stay there. I was advised to return to the lobby and tell the employee what I saw in the room, and let him know I could not stay there. I was told to ask him to approve a refund, get his contact information, and to call back and they could help me find a place to stay.
I went back to the lobby and waited for the guy to wake up and unlock the door. I told him that the room was filthy and someone had been sleeping in the bed, and I wasn't going to stay there. I asked for his contact information and asked that he approve a refund. He told me the room was clean and ready to rent, and 'how can I give you a refund when you've been in the room for an hour?'. Then he said he couldn't give me a refund as I didn't pay him, and I needed to contact whoever I paid. He did agree to return my $50 deposit. I didn’t need a refund, I needed him to let Capital One know I wasn’t staying and ok the refund.
This motel is in a bad part of town, it is not beachfront or near the seawall, there was a pile of dirty mattresses by the dumpster, and there was trash all over the parking lot. The outside of the building looks nothing like the pictures. In fact none of the pictures I have found look anything like this property - nearly every one has been photoshopped. I never would have chosen to stay there if the images and descriptions reflected its true condition.
I contacted OYO, and they thanked me for my feedback and wanted me to give them a good score on their customer service phone department - that's all.

I booked at this place for 4 nights .and I enjoy it a lot, so I end up staying another night, I had a great time weather was great I stayed from sunday Dicember 29 till Thursday January 2 and I just got back home today; I have to be honest the room I got it was good, shower really nice and clean, before I got situeded I spend little time cleaning it the way I like it... there was a light bulb burn out on the ceiling and the smoke detector hanging down and I fixed both and clean the place a little bit and I was ready to go .
The key to respect it's to respect others, the owner and staff treated me with respect, and refund my deposit whit no issues. I think that for the price and location, I have nothing else to ask for I was alone and that was on my side because at this point im all terrain... I have stayed in la quinta hotel before
And at comfort suits and at the san luis resort and honestly
I can't spect a Cadillac when I know I'm buying a dodge .......
Sometimes being negative it just doesn't help I'm not trying to put any body up or down .
What im trying to do it's share my experience
God bless America
Peace and Love

Ok no 😤 was treated like a criminal and questioned about my finances as soon as I tried to check in. The lady was extremely rude and disrespectful to me. I'm a physically disabled person forced into retirement. There was no reason to treat me this way or anyone at all. The gentleman was pleasant and helpful. The wife extremely unprofessional. Now mind you I've traveld in 23 years 57k miles by bus alone much less my motorcycle trips. This has been by far the worst experience ive ever experienced nation wide. Doors are damaged and dont lock when you leave your room. Can push it open with my foot. Somone please do something about this place . Pleass share.

I walked in and I walked right out. They never refunded my money. I saw the pictures and let me tell you, it's not even close. They kept my money so I'm gonna take it out on them every opportunity I have. Red flags and alarms should be going off right now.

Fair rating from the reviews you'd be better off sleeping I. Your car or a card board box .. bed bugs and they have the audacity to judge people. Seriously look at the pictures! This place should be banned!!

Update: This hotel has an automated message system that tells you to contact them but they never respond FYI. -
As my first hotel stay EVER eye am very disappointed with the taller 55 year old guy behind the counter being very rude and disrespectful , basically robbed me for my 50$ deposit , he claimed i smoked in the room and said i left ashes on the floor. The room already smelled like cigarettes , the towels were all dirty i was the only person in the room and i dont smoke , i dont recommended people stay there because that is definitely a scam hotel. Never again! Definitely felt racially motivated
Safety: Bikers Carrying Guns Everywhere drinking 6 pack of beer on the stairs (noted)
Noteworthy details: Wifi is terrible , and the doors dont say smoking or non smoking

Folks you’re looking at a 2 star hotel. If you want luxury pony up the dough…sheesh! Got here right at check-in, it was seamless and only a $50 deposit, refundable on check out. My room was spacious, clean and AC had to be turned up as it was chilly. It’s a beach hotel right off the Seawall. For me it’s totally worth the price. Pet friendly and we will definitely stay here again!!
