Great trip to Moody Gardens Hotel. Enjoyed our stay for the GCA conference hosted in the Expo Center.

The bed was uncomfortable, with oversized pillows, and the AC vent blowing directly onto it. The hot tub was overcrowded with too many people, including children, staying in it all day. The café served burgers worse than fast food, and the staff lacked smiles, creating a grumpy atmosphere despite the waitress being pleasant. It appears the hotel depends on business from Moody Gardens regardless of its current condition.

“As a first-timer at Moody Gardens, I arrived with a mix of business and pleasure, intrigued by the excitement portrayed in the online pictures. While the lobby exuded charm, my overall stay fell short of expectations.Although the room appeared clean, it felt outdated and lacked modern amenities. The damp carpet and worn-out furniture were disappointing, and the absence of a microwave was inconvenient. Additionally, the towels and washcloths carried a strong vinegar scent, and the heating system was initially non-functional.However, the staff were a highlight of the experience—friendly, welcoming, and quick to address issues. Despite efforts to fix the heating, it took until the next night for it to work properly.Regarding dining, while room service was satisfactory, the food prices seemed high. Unfortunately, my breakfast was subpar, with greasy eggs, undercooked bacon, and stale waffles. On the upside, the pizza was enjoyable(10/10).Additionally, the community microwave on the second floor seemed impractical for wanting to reheat any food. The amenities, advertised as heated pools and a jacuzzi, were disappointing as they were not operational and cold.Overall, I was disappointed by the outdated facilities and lackluster amenities at what should be a premier resort destination. Moody Gardens is in need of significant renovation to match its concept and location. Good luck to future guests.”Food & drinks: The pizza and chocolate cake were the best menu items in my opinion

No hot water in the room. Paid almost $500 a night to not have hot water when taking a shower.

The biggest issue my family (2 adults, 1 infant, and a puppy) and I had with this place was the loading and unloading experience - especially the position of the valets. The loading/unloading lanes and use of the awning need to be completely re-thought. If you're planning to stay here and it rains (which it will in Galveston) be prepared to load and unload all of your items in the rain or heat unless you're willing to spend money with the valets and bellhopsThe three lanes under the MASSIVE awning are taken up completely by valet and the loading and unloading area and lanes are exposed and inconvenient at best, along a curb downhill from the door. My favorite piece of this experience was standing in the rain loading my wet luggage as the valets stood under the large awning...with an umbrella stand.Additionally, the luggage carts are very small. If you're traveling with a family be ready to take at least 2-3 trips to the car. They have larger luggage carts available but those only come with a bellhop service - which we didn't use, but I assume expects some type of tip.My suggestion to the business would be to use the ballroom entrance for valet services so that others can make use of the awning in different weather cycles.

Our family had a good experience in this hotel. Food was good, staff was friendly. For the kids we had the pyramids nearby, and we were 40 min away from Kemah attractions. Rooms are dated in some parts, but did not impacted the overall experience.

This is not a beachfront hotel. If you want to have Moody Gardens Attractions, then this is a great choice. Also, they have a nice heated outdoor pool and it was great to use it in February of 2024. Besides, they have an indoor pool as well and other amenities: restaurant, bar etc.

I just checked in today. I paid for a King Bed room with Mini frig way in advance as this is my Anniversary with my wife. I get here, check in and open the door it's 2 double beds. I go back to the lobby and tell the woman that's not what I reserved, that I paid for in advance for a King size bed. She looks it up and agreed and said ,let me look for a room with that. O we closed that part of the Hotel in the North Tower and no King bed's available. She said it's and upgrade, LOL When I booked the double beds were cheaper than the ! King bed rooms. I'll never come back to this place again, that's for sure. NOT AN UPGRADE AND DAMN SURE NOT WHAT I PAID FOR. The fire pit doesn't work and forget about a heated pool, it's not. If you enjoy a cold shower when it's 58 degrees outside then you'll love the shower as it doesn't barely even get warm. Cold shower on a cool day. I'll definitely never return to Moody Gardens Hotel. Terrible is I booked 2 nights

The front desk was helpful at check-in. We got to our room and used the bed without the comforter cause we noticed that it had blood and makeup stains on it. Upon check out, I showed the front desk and only noted it and was told that she would notify her manager.Rooms: The room was ok but needs work. And housekeeping needs to do their job better.
