When we walked in we were greeted by the friendly front desk attendant he allowed us to leave our bags at the front while we waited for our room to be ready . We were pleasantly surprised by the clean lobby and felt like we hit the jackpot as This location was ideal as it’s close to the cruise port and very close to local restaurants and shops. When we checked into our room we were sourly disappointed to realize that our sheets were filthy from Top to bottom sheet. Huge brown stains on the top very wrinkled cover and hair , crumbs, and possibly dirt on the sheets .We were going to call the front desk to tell them about our sheets when our door opened up to a family (wife husband and kids ) with a key to our room as they were under the impression that this was their room as they were given a key and room number .We called the font desk immediately to let them know what just happened and we received a fumbling and quick apology and he hung up. We knew right there there would be no point in communicating our issues .Fortunately for us there is a target accross the street so we purchased pillowcase and a blankets for the one day stay. When we returned to our room our key wasn’t working and we were told by the front desk they they needed to give us a new set (assuming it was due to their mistake from earlier).While the staff is friendly enough the clean lobby is not a reflection of the rooms. If you’re simply looking for a space to lay your head for an evening this will due .The highlight of the stay would probably be the Texas shaped waffle at breakfast.Rooms: Filthy sheets • Clean Bathrooms • Dingy carpets (brings slippers )Walkability: Possible but not ideal . Easier to Uber for very low cost .Noteworthy details: Convienent location for cruise departures, efficient for Ubers , close to shops and restaurants.

My family and I chose this hotel because it was near my sister’s house and right around the corner from (Galveston) Island. This hotel ended up being one of the best La Quinta’s that I have stayed at in a while. I’m a frequent traveler so having a nice, clean, comfortable and friendly hotel is very important to me. We intended to stay only for two nights but we were so impressed with the hotel we extended our stay for 2 more days. All of the staff were very friendly and accommodating, especially Mrs. Kathy Peters shout out to you my friend!! Thank you for your awesome customer service! We will be back! The outdoor pool, fitness center and complimentary breakfast was a plus!

Bathroom dirty, hair all over bath/shower. Floors dirty. Cold eggs and sausage in breakfast room. Not sure if the sheets were clean.

Not on the seawall (beach); however, if you need to be near a target or Dollar Tree you're in luck. Free parking in covered garage is amazing!What's needed: real 1/2 & 1/2 for the coffee in the morning, butter & jam for the toast, bacon instead of undercooked sausage. They desperately need an air fryer for guest use for the sausage & eggs that are undercooked. Please serve real half & half!The beds & pillows are super uncomfortable.Cute pool area outside.Nice fridge & microwave in the room.Nice bathroom.

My husband and I chose this location because it is less than 4 miles from the pier (for cruise.)Nice clean room, and hot breakfast. Our room was very spacious, as was the bathroom. The front desk, and breakfast staff were very pleasant and accommodating. Also, while the hotel is near the freeway, it is not noisy.I would highly recommend.

This was our first time staying in Galveston and didn’t really know what to expect! Let me tell you, the owner and staff at La Quinta blew my mind! They were amazing! So friendly and attentive! They went above and beyond what I was expecting! If you are looking for an affordable clean place to stay, I would recommend this place 10/10!

I wanted to like this place so badly after the bad experience I had with Galveston Inn&Suites. The room was not clean at all. Eyelashes and stains (as iin not washed, not just stains) on pillow cases, (all 6) Towels are not clean and appear to not have been washed, just refolded. Sheets are dirty, with visible stains. The floor was not vacuumed. Restroom not swept or moped. Feces on toilet and wall. Hair of different lengths and textures everywhere. Microwave dirty, spills in refrigerator. Walls are thin, you can hear everyone in the halls and everything outside. I always bring cleaner and wipes. I shouldn't have to pay for a room I have to clean before I can use it.

Breakfast wasn't worth it. The gym was pointless. Seriously half of the machines didn't work and it was HOT in there like no air flow. Good thing is the heated indoor pool but but other than that not worth the stay.

Very nice accommodation with good service. The only problem was a shortage of washcloths in the rooms.
