I am not a fan of Joe Hudson in Galveston. I took my truck in to have the tailgate painted. I told the lady at the desk I had an allowance of $411.60 from Allstate to get it painted and wanted to know if they could do it for that. I got a call from Jody Herrington the estimator and he wanted to confirm all I needed was the tailgate painted. I said yes and I wanted to know the cost. He said he would get back to me. He didn’t. I sent an email a couple of hours later requesting that he verify the cost would be $411.60. His reply was, “tailgate is in paint”. I replied, “You did not answer my question about the paint so, I assume that the $411.60 that Allstate allowed is all I will need to pay.”. The next morning he responded the cost is $576.10. Had I known this, I would have taken it to another body shop who had given me a lower price. VERY UNPROFESSIONAL! I told Jody he screwed me over by not informing me of the cost before he started work as I had requested. When I questioned Jody about it and the ridiculous time to disassemble the tail gate he had on the invoice, he got pissy with me. I had to take the tailgate apart to install the backup camera, key cylinder adjust the latch rods and remove the step to work on it. That took maybe 30 min. NOT 2.9 HOURS THAT THEY CHARGED JUST TO REMOVE PLASTICS FOR PAINTING. VERY UNPROFESSIONAL. I WOULD NEVER USE THEM AGAIN.

My daughter's car at the moment is getting fixed, so I don't know how good they are. But I appreciate them texting me and letting me know what's the next step is or if there any delays.

Horrible customer service and absolutely no updates unless I emailed. Was told my vehicle was going into paint for 7 weeks! Finding horrible mistakes made to the repairs as well!
