We stayed at Starlight Oasis property in July 2023 with a group of friends. The house is beautiful with ocean views and the beach access is only a few steps away... The house was perfect - professional cleaned, very spacious, and with plentiful amenities as advertised. We and the kids really enjoyed the quiet and clean beach. There was a great and surprising memory when we and the kids went crab fishing in the evening at San Luis Pass County Park. We had a great time and will definitely come back.

The upside was Gary Greene was good to communicate with and the place was clean and comfortable. The downside was for those who wanted to bring boats you were unable to use the boat lift or the boat slip. Also you had too offload boat 8 miles away. Not the ideal for boats. There was black algae in pool and green light didn’t work. No hot water in upstairs BR shower.

Warm, welcoming and ready to answer anything you got! My first experience with beach rentals. I was extremely pleased with the process and will use them again in the very near future! Belinda was the best, such a sweetheart! Thanks again!

We had an amazing vacation with three generations in the house from ages 79 to age 11. The property is right on the beach and very private away from the public. Going into town is about a 15 minute drive, but there are a few restaurants and stores just down the road. Nice deck. Loved that every room had a king bed other than the kid bunk room. Loved all rooms had ceiling fans and tvs. Love there were 2 bathrooms on the first floor. Temperature not allowed to be under 71 degrees in the house but slept great with the fans. Storm shutters are awesome in the rooms for blackout when sleeping. Great areas provided to hose off sand from beach before you enter house. What I would recommend to guests if you are staying the week would be to bring sunscreen, bug spray, extra dish towels, a rubber spatula, condiments and spices, paper towels, cooking spray, toiletries, bottled water, beach towels, camping chairs, and a blanket to wrap around in chilly weather outside. You do not need any dishes or pots and pans or silverware. They have everything you need for cooking. We did have an encounter with a 5ft rattlesnake in the yard by the picnic table, but it went back to the dunes very quickly. Animal control just says make a lot of noise and stay away from the dunes and walk only on the designated trails. Keep a flash light handy when emptying trash. Some recommendations to the owner to make the property better would be to have a grab bar in the downstairs shower for the elderly and a grab bar in the master toilet since that toilet sits very low. The downstairs mud room reeks with mildew.Gas line was badly coroted so stovetop would not function however the management company provided us with electric hot plates that worked very well. Great communication with the management company. They are awesome!Great views at the house. Plenty to do and see in the area. Moody Gardens aquarium was a big hit with the family. Lots of restaurants to eat at but because it was October many of them including the Pleasure Pier were either closed until after 5pm or not open until the weekend. Plan ahead for sure.

Disappointing for how pricey this rental was! Sliding glass door got stuck and locked itself (rusty parts) and we got locked out the first day we were there on the porch late at night. The staff told us they were aware of the issue from prior complaints. Bathroom sink clogged up and wouldn't drain. Dishwasher not working and all dishes in cabinet had food stuck on them; some were greasy. Living room Roof Leak getting larger each day. I expect at one time, this was worth every penny but appears neglected now.

If i could I'd give 0 stars. My family went through this company for their beach house and had nothing but problems. We finally got fed up took our business else where. When we told them we didn't want to go through them anymore and not to come back to our property they preceded to do so anyway... while we was back home. They left EVERY single (not even exaggerating) light on in our beach house for atleast 2 weeks luckily we came back out to Galveston today and noticed!!! Pft... never again! Very disappointed!!!

We stayed at the Paraiso property in May and what a great value! The house is pristine, the views are great, and the amenities were plentiful. Everything from the appliances in the kitchen to the gorgeous pool and hot tub added to the wonderful experience. Easy check in and check out and the customer service was friendly and responsive in a timely manner. The pictures do not do the home justice, the views of the sunrise and sunset are incredible. We love and will definitely return to Paraiso.

I would NOT stop here to get help for anything real estate related. We stopped in the office to pick up keys for our rental at approx 2:15p. Our rental was to be available by 3p. The woman in the office refused to give us our rental keys early. Okay, not a problem! I understand rental agreements, so we agreed to wait. However, while waiting, our party had 2 small children who needed to use the restroom after the drive. Since our rental wasn't available, we asked if they could use the restroom in the leasing office. The agent refused. She refused to let a 3 and 4 yr old use the restroom, and the next closest public restroom was almost 10 minutes away. It seems to me any person that responds to children this way, likely won't treat you with much respect. I'd get a referral for an agent elsewhere, if you're in the market for real estate, and if your looking for vacation leases, I'd go AIRBNB.

We stayed there with my family in July, and the refrigerator broke down on the second day we were there. We were told to "keep the door closed." They sent out a repair guy, who told us the refrigerator was meant for a family of 4 and couldn't handle a capacity of 12 (the house sleeps 16). He said he has been out multiple times and they knew this refrigerator had issues. We ate out of coolers for the duration of our trip. The showers leaked, and the toilets on the main floor were broken. There is a long list of items that were broken in this house. The company did not care, and when we called to complain, they never responded to our calls. Do not rent from Gary Green in Galveston. Stick with Sand and Sea rentals, they actually care about their customers. When you spend over $9000 for a week vacation rental, there should be some sort of customer service. The lady that was working there was rude and defensive, and made us feel like we were wrong for being upset with our $9000 rental and having to eat out of coolers.

****** WARNING - DO NOT USE GARY GREENE VACATION RENTAL*******Had a trip set for 8/28-8/30 in Galveston, TX. At the time of our reservation we were encouraged to use their partner travel insurance company - Red Sky Insurance - given the above-normal hurricane season.Sure enough Hurricane Laura formed in the Gulf of Mexico causing the local government to issue a mandatory evacuation on the 25th. The next day we cancelled the trip due to the pending hurricane. On August 27th the mandatory evacuation was lifted but by then we already cancelled the trip. We also didn't know the condition of what Galveston was in or the beaches.I spoke with Gary Greene Rentals and was instructed to go through Red Sky travel insurance and file a claim which we did. After multiple calls and emails with Red Sky Insurance, I waited almost 3 months for Red Sky to tell me my claim was denied because we "preemptively cancelled" the trip. Since the mandatory evacuation was lifted the day before our trip, "we could have gone" was their reasoning. Who thinks like this when there's a hurricane? Even if we could've gone do they take into consideration it's a little hard to utilize a beach when there is broken glass and debris on the ground? My case was a case of "Monday Morning QB vs Hurricane vs Insurance vs Rental" I guess.I contacted Gary Greene Rental thinking they would be understanding my situation but was greeted with a nice "we sympathize with your situation but we have no intention of reimbursing you." While their contract states they do not reimburse for hurricanes, the travel insurance company they told me to use is equally as crooked.Stay away from companies like this that unwilling to make reasonable concessions for their own customers.

There are so many 1 star reviews for a reason. Misleading ads with hidden cancelation fees. Says free cancelation on all sites they are listed on other than their own. After you book they explain to you they don't follow the policies they advertised on vrbo.. Why even list it in there... Stay far away.
