Caught this on a spring break trip to Galveston with the family. The breezy, open-air, dog friendly dining room is relaxing with TV's and lots of seating. The staff is warm, eager to please, and quick to make accommodations. They first served our whiny, sunbeaten littles with appetizers for us, but ours was quick after. The whole dinner - our food, the experience - was memorable. Went back a second time this summer and it was no different, and even though there were more people there, it was a consistently memorable and positive experience! With few West End choices, don't miss it. We will be returning for sure!

The service is great and friendly. There is a huge outdoor seating area and they were dog friendly. Even gave a water bowl. Frozen margarita was tasty. Fish and chips had an excellent light flavorful breading. Beignets were perfectly fried with a light crisp and chewy center. Order that and you'll be happy.

I’m so happy I was told about this restaurant. It is on the west end of the island , so wasn’t over crowded. The food was great and served in very large portions. We shared entrees. The poor boys were loaded, the seafood Cobb salad was huge but tasty, and the seafood nachos are a must try.

We were a bit skeptical based on the 3.5 star reviews on TripAdvisor and Yelp but decided to give Sandbar a try for the Marina setting and proximity to where we were staying in Jamaica Beach. Our waitress was great, the drinks were great (La Diabla and Strawberry marg), the food was great (peel and eat shrimp with some good Cajun seasoning, fish and chips with light batter and coconut shrimp), and great outdoor seating with a view of the sunset. Don’t understand the bad reviews. Our waitress couldn’t have been sweeter, bringing a bowl of iced water for our Chihuahua. Granted, the prices were a bit high but you’re paying for the ambience and quality of food here. We did notice that smoking was allowed but fortunately no one was smoking near our table, otherwise, we would not have been able to enjoy our meal and this review would have been quite different. We’ll take our chances and come back here the next time we stay on the West End.

Good was delicious but the service was even better! The manager of the establishment was hands down amazing and made our night amazing. Highly recommend and will return again when I'm back in Galveston

My mom's bisque was cold but they took care of that, friend liked her gumbo, hood fried pickles. I thought it was my best shrimp plate of the week, the others enjoyed fish tacos. Seever was a super nice guy and we enjoyed the water view.

I had the urge to go kayaking and found this listing on a random internet search. Great single and tandem kayak all day rental prices. Be sure to call ahead of time for reservations. We wanted to do an early morning kayak, unfortunately they were all rented out until 4 in the afternoon. The evening kayak was perfect. The water was so calm, the weather was so nice. We brought beers for the kayak and stayed out on the water for a few hours waiting for the sunset. Make sure you remember where the dock is at! Bathrooms are hard to come across, so if you're drinking... best of luck to ya, luckily we docked at a random spot and I ran across a port-a-potty. What great luck! The sunset on the water is gorgeous. An experience that you need to put on your bucketlist.

Used to use their boat ramp but will never use them again. I fished last night with a buddy and he payed for both our our launch fees. He payed the bartender and informed them it was for him and me... 5 dollars each. He was told to drop receipt in night drop box. When I came in in the morning around 5 am July 3, 2021, there was a guy asking people for launch passes, I informed him that my buddy payed and dropped the receipts as instructed, he said I had to have it in my hand and treated me like a liar and a Thief, I asked him to check and call my buddy , he refused and got rude and told me he would make it where I couldn't come back and my truck would get towed. I went ahead and gathered 5 bucks to squash it and another guy was there when I turned around , I gave him the money and said I wouldn't be coming back to which he got pretty mad and aggressive in his speech and started yelling never come back. I said thats what I just said, im not coming back not when you treat people like that way and won't look and verify what I say....You couldn't pay me to go back to that place.... What horrible people to treat someone like that over 5 dollars and something that could have been easily checked and verified. Horrible place and people working there , I wouldn't recomend it to my worst enemy.....

Just got gas there and it was $4.99 a gallon! What a total rip off! This is $1.30 more than pelican rest. I hope I never have to come back there. You would think they could finally get this place humming like it was before Ike. They don't have much in the shop. What they do have is very sparse. You would think with the neighborhood they're in and the client base they could have they could do fantastic. They need new management.

We had our fishing tournament here and cannot say enough hoot things about Jeff and his team. At a time when nothing is “normal “ thanks to COVID, we worked together and made a plan to make it work and it couldn’t have been a more perfect beautiful day!!

They ran out of shrimp, so they had some kid tell me everywhere from there to Texas city was out. The marina in sea isle had some. Don't buy shrimp from these liars.
