We spent two nights minivan camping here the last week in December. Loved everything about it. They have wonderful paved campsites with a covered pavilion at each site and hookups. The restroom/bathouse was clean and spacious. Very nice facility with friendly staff. We were just steps from the beach as well. Would definitely camp here again! Loved it!! ❤️

A tiny state park with not much to do.
We came here while visiting Galveston over Christmas. The front desk and associated nature center were cute and the staff were friendly. The maps of the park depicted boat trails, but apparently the boat renter went out of business after the last hurricane so they weren’t open. We went hiking instead and found the trails to be exceedingly muddy. The kids liked this, but it might not be for everyone.
The beachside section of the park was very different from the other side. Basically it was a nice beach with some good picnic tables.
There was a $5 fee per person to enter the park.
Playground: There was no playground, but there was a nature center with some hands on specimens in the sand.
Toilets: There are portapotties spread around the park at most parking areas.
Picnic area: The island side half of the park has old nasty picnic tables which have been used extensively to gut fish. The beach side half of the park has nice new clean tables that are great for picnicking.

A very clean Beach. We found a Portuguese man of war washed up on the shore. There's also lots of clean bathrooms and picnic tables.
Toilets: Clean restrooms.
Dog-friendliness: Great place to take your dog on a leash.
Picnic area: Lots of nice picnic tables.

You've got a cross over to the State Park trails and go to the viewfinders on the park side.

Beautiful spot with fantastic campsites and clean washrooms/showers. Lots of space between the staggered concrete pads, covered picnic tables.

Most excellent as now has a volunteer whom is instructor for 'best fishing techniques". Very very awesome addition to an already pretty cool and helpful staff. Will be back.
Toilets: Very clean restrooms.
Dog-friendliness: Great place for dogs, but I am unsure if leash requirements.
Picnic area: Have lots of covered tables. NICE!
