I was on the island for a few days and forgot to bring my sneakers. The slides I had been wearing were falling apart so I desperately searched for a shoe store. This was the only one in the area. When I walked in I wasn't sure if I'd even find anything. I'm hard to shop for, plus I suffer from plantars fasciitis. Lisa greeted me with a friendly smile immediately and asked what I was looking for. I told her I wasn't really sure, I just needed something to walk in that wasn't going to be bad for my feet. She asked me a few questions and did a proper fitting, then went to the back to grab a pair for me to try. To my amazement the first pair she brought out was almost perfect. The foot pain I was experiencing when I walked in had eased up when I put the shoes on. Not only was it comfortable but I really liked the style, which was a little less loud than some of the other options on display. She brought out a couple more pairs and I ended up choosing the third, a pair of Mizuno Enerzy, wave inspire 19s. They were a bit pricier than I had expected, but they seemed very well made and I was desperate. Plus with the store's 30 day return policy, what did I have to lose? Lisa is amazing at her job. I couldn't believe she found something for me so quickly. Usually I can't find anything until I'm 3 or 4 stores in. She is extremely pleasant to talk to, and even threw in a little freebie for my birthday. I wore my new shoes out immediately and headed for the Strand. I was able to walk there and shop around for several hours with ZERO FOOT PAIN! For someone like me who's every step can be sheer agony, that is a real miracle. Thank you, Lisa and Galveston Island Running! You literally saved my vacation.

Got scanned a few years ago by a different place. I had tried getting shoes without a scan but none where working out for me and my runs. Decided to go here and get scanned since it's close to home. Got it done and got some REALLY comfortable shoes that will be getting put to use with my miles. Anyways , got helped by Chris who was very knowledgeable and even informed me of the weekly morning runs on Saturdays. You could tell he knew what he was talking about and had so much information about form and shoe technology. Definitely recommend this place and will be coming back in the future.

The owners are very sweet and knowledgeable. I stopped in while on vacation from houston to try a pair of shoes which in store felt fine. However I found when I came home and wore them I realized they caused me pain in my arch. I called the store to ask about the return window since I do live an hour away and wanted to plan the trip, and was told if the shoes are worn they do not accept returns for a refund only an exchange. I do not wish to exchange the shoes just to come home and find out they cause me pain once again.I hope the exchange I pick works. My fault for not asking about the return policy before buying but I have never heard of no returns after a couple day trial period with shoes.
