I went up to family dollar with my sister and aunt to grab things for our event today and I was met with instant racist hostility and discrimination. Right when I walked in, 5 minutes afterwards, I heard a worker instruct some toddlers to stay by the door and separated them from their mom while shopping. Instantly assuming that they would be stealing, last time I checked, you are an employee, not their mother. Why did she separate them from their mother? Imagine what could’ve happened! then after we went to the line to check out and the same worker immediately caught an attitude with us after chopping it up with the other customers, met with instant hostility. Then when i wanted to put something back, she caught another attitude and mumbled something in Spanish along the lines of “morena” and “pendeja” and i asked her what did she say and she ignored me and my aunt said excuse me and ignored her too then when we asked again, she said she was on the phone. Why would you be on the phone while you’re at work? Especially on the register. That’s a way to make mistakes. I don’t know what they got going on in that Family Dollar but They need to figure it out because one day, they will mess around and find out with the wrong one!

People. It's a Family Dollar store. Not The Galleria. I've been goin to this store more than 10 years. It's just fine. Those of us that live nearby depend on this place for a lot. I ain't never seen this cash payments, cashiers pocketin money, etc. Stop hatin. Geez.

Shady business practices and guy working night of 14 Dec 2024 pockets cash payments. Guy had black finger nails and talks like he is high. Had 3 items I was paying for. Asked if I was paying cash. He said oh, I will have to do a manual checkout. Rings up one pack of gum for 54 cents. Says that will be $30. I said what? The three items are $20 total. Where do you get $30. He proceeds it's because of manual pay. I said no it's $20 plus tax. Which is not $30. He goes ok, I will take $20. I give him $20 and ask for a receipt. He says no receipt it's a manual ring up. Whatever, start walking away and noticed he put the $20 in his pocket. This cashier is ripping off customers and your store.

I like this family dollar. It's convenient to walk to from where I live. If you overlook the poor stocking practices, especially around where the frozen foods are.

EXTREMELY SLOW! don't bother going there if you're in a hurry. The long line was all the way around the corner & there were 2 employees behind the counter but only one register open, ridiculous!!

The prices are pretty good for most stuff. Some canned/boxed groceries, but mostly just candy, chips, nuts, and snacks. There are some frozen foods, some dairy/lunchmeat coolers, beer/wine/cigarettes. You can find kitchen/laundry/bathroom/cleaning supplies, toys/diapers, dogfood/toys, toiletries, bug spray, sunscreen, stationary, greeting cards/balloons/party supply/gift wrap, t-shirts/shoes/shorts. T.P. & P.T. !
Park on Broadway right in front of the doors, and watch out for cars when you're getting out. Watch your purse and walk fast, there's usually some loiterers hanging around. You might stand in line a minute - they're usually understaffed, but never a terribly long wait. Open til 10.
