Love this vet! All 3 of my dogs go here. The doctors are knowledgeable and professional, and the prices are reasonable.

If you're looking for a trust worthy vet who values your dogs health look no further. Dr. Diestler is the most amazing vet we have ever used. He is kind and patient he answered all of our questions without making us feel rushed and we genuinely feel like his priority is to provide great pet care at a reasonable price. I can't say thank you enough to him and his team for providing a seamless covid compliant vet experience for our Callie today.

AVOID this place if your pet need surgery or a biopsy. I work in a major cancer center where I actively treating cancer patients. I have waited a while to write this to try and not let my emotions run wild. They have no idea what they are doing when it comes to extensive care. I asked for a biopsy for my dog with a lump on her side. They said it was done and all was clear which we were so happy about. A few months later the lump grew and we went back and i asked to see the report from the biopsy, to which they said we didn't do one! So what did I pay for? Then I had them do a biopsy this time while I was there. They called me back about a week later saying everything looks good, so I said read me the results which she did. So then I asked her what did the vet think that meant she said it was good with no cancer. She was Completely wrong she had no idea what she was reading. So I explained to her what my job is and where I worked and that the word positive margin means Cancer! Early detection is one of the greatest tools against cancer. There inaction and lies took my service dog from Iraq years too early. DO NOT let this happen to you make them show you proof of everything.

I had not been in Galveston long enough to have a vet, and my 15 year old dog was not doing well. I knew it was time to euthanize her. The staff at The Animal Clinic was amazing. I just want to say thank you!

I have been very satisfied in this clinic and Dr Festein's care of my dog in the past.....but the last few time I've taken her to get care, usually just routine stuff, she has been very fearful of going with the techs by herself. One visit, she went under the bench in the exam room and was trembling all over from fear. Makes one wonder what type of experience she's had that we are not aware of because we are not allowed to go in with our pet. I expressed this concern with the staff and all they say is 'I'm sorry' ....easy words to say....but not seriously expressed....if there was seriousness behind the statement then they would figure out a process to have the owner with their pet....don't want us to enter like other clinics are allowing, then set up a simple exam area outside under a tent with a scale, a table, and simple care items...so we can be by our pets when they get shots or very simple care so they aren't frightened . I'm not the only one that is currently disappointed with the process being used at this clinic. Don't get me wrong, I understand the Covid concern.....but with everyone wearing mask and sanitizing hands upon arrival is accepted practices, doing an outside service with the same set up so we can stay by our pets to alleviate their fears would work just as well.

1 hour and 30 minutes wait in the car in front of the clinic!! At that point they suggested rescheduling when I complained. I would have been just fine rescheduling before I waited that long. Why not just tell me at the beginning that they were running late and have me come back later when they were ready? Like most of their customers I live less than 10 minutes away. No reason to make me wait in the parking lot for so long. Just reschedule at the beginning or have me leave and call me later when they are able to see my dog. In the end I waited 1.5 hours for a 15 minute very expensive vet visit to tell me my dog probably has allergies. Hopefully that's all it is.

DOGGY STYLE...I took my dog there for a prolapsed nictiitating membrane of one of her eyes and got a Nextguard flea treatment. Next month, I tried to order the same flea treatmemt in bulk from Chewy. The Vet DENIED the perscription!!! was OBVIOUSLY done so that I would HAVE to buy it from them where It is MORE EXPENSIVE. Also when I picked up my dog, besides the BILL, no information s to WHAT was done with my dog and what I needed to do was given. I'll be taking my dog elsewhere... someplace that doesn't hold it hostage

May 18, 2020 went here because the vet closest to me (Campeche Cove) was booked. The first difference I noticed was the difference in price for an office visit; $48 (at Campeche) to $65 here. Wow! Wonder why that is? Surely, it couldn't be the east end of the island vs the west end? Anyway, since Covid19 is still in action...service is still curbside so, being that this is my first visit, I will not be able to go in with my kitty, Percy and that stresses me out. He will be without me and I won't be able to communicate (in detail) to the doctor ...not ideal. But, with him experiencing "panting" symptoms on 2 different occasions, I didn't want to wait any longer. Appointment was at 3:30p, I got checked in at 3:15p...several customers waiting in parking lot. I waited about 30 minutes to talk (by phone) to Dr Diestler and all went smoothly; impressed with his thoroughness. Waited another 15 minutes to get checked out. Visit with allergy meds was $60.96, states office visit was only $50 not the $65 quoted earlier. Woohoo!

Only place we take and/or board our animals. Period. You won't be disappointed. Favorite story is my wife keeps buying dogs off Craigslist. We have a maltipoo that was losing her hair. Point in a maltipoo is they don't shed. First time in we had an intern which is fine as everyone is a trainee at least once. Some medication but no cure. Second time and we had one of the two "owners". She asks if we're itching too. Yes, we were. Turns out my wife's Craigslist dog came with mange. Easy to fix. We had to apply the same cream. Point isn't the intern as that can happen to any of us. Point is they have great folks that will figure it out. Prices are reasonable as best they can be anywhere. They sponsored a booth at the dog surfing contest. Good people. Again, happy as can be. One other vet in Katy and one in Italy I'd recommend. Many I wouldn't.

Being new to the island, visited this clinic for our dog's annual vaccinations and checkup. The wait, even with an appointment, is long. The staff are friendly. The tech and vets are nice as well. However, I think their patient load is too much. Our little doggie had a bad reaction to the vaccinations and became ill. When we took her back, we just didn't feel or think they had done everything to try to find out what was wrong. Long story short, we ended up in an Animal Hospital ER a few towns away. They were able to find out what was wrong and get our little girl on the road to health. We think this is probably a great place for established patients but not for new patients.

Our Frenchie got sick on the last day of our vacation. They fit us in last minute and at their closing time!! This is an office that genuinely cares for the pets. We cannot thank you all enough. Bella is at home and doing so much better. They are very affordable & if we lived in Galveston, this would be our vet. Again, thank you all SO much.

6/5/19 I just bumped them up to 4 stars from 2. Actually, this past visit really deserves 5 stars! Thanks, in part, to the person at the appointment desk who listened with empathy to my disappointment, which was noted below previously. Emily, our tech, was sensitive and very good at her job. Bravo to her; she immediately gained Shelby's trust! Dr. H, the vet, was also in pace with the others there. Thank you all for a terrific level of service!!!! I gave you 4 stars, because I think empathy and communication might get derailed sometimes. Old review: Just when you think you've found a good Vet team. Darn. I am disappointed in the 75-minute wait for a rabies shot and insensitivity shown to a scared 12-year-old dog (meaning: 3 unsuccessful attempts at getting a rectal temperature reading). No personalized communication, but I did overhear upon entering there had been a couple of emergencies that had created a bit of a delay for others. OK, I've been down that road. But this excessive time was rather unreasonable. Maybe, since they had this knowledge of a backup, it would have been better if someone had made a courtesy call to see if I -- as well as to others -- wanted to reschedule; that might have been the better way to go rather than ignoring this patient and her mom. I thought I gave them some leeway...75 minutes. How much longer? Communication and time management are key -- and appreciated. Just food for thought. Hope you get can get it together.

All was well on the first visit to go in and change veterinarians from Houston. I use a Pet prescription website that The Animal Clinic would not honor. Since I use a Rx they do not carry, the clinic said I could pick up a written prescription. My husband went in to pick it up and unbeknownst to me, they had written 2 other prescriptions the dogs are on. The charge for 3 Rx came to $23.40, more than my savings to begin with. This information was never shared. I said, forget it, I'll order online from your pharmacy. I went to order another prescription from their store and it was not even available. It took 4 1/2 days from start to finish to get a prescription to begin with. I was very disappointed in their lack of communication.
