“November 21, 2021 AWESOME EXPERIENCE with Captain Clement Jardin!! In honor of my 60th BD on the 23rd...we, "just sit right back and you'll hear a tale...a tale" of 3 gals on the bayou!!! (gilligan's island song reference) The three of us had the best time...Sunday FUNday! It was predicted to be a 40-80% chance of rain ...BUTT, not today Satan...the weather was perfect...hardly any clouds, 75 out and a decent wind...Capt Clement was patient, friendly and informative. I was the captain for about an hour...then I asked my friend to take over...she hesitantly did! We were on a 30 foot sailboat called, "the lift off!" It had plenty of space to sit. While on the water we met several other sailors/captains that Clement knew and we got to talk to from afloat. This outing cost $50 each and we were sailing in Offatt's bayou for 2 hours (maximum is 3 hours but, we all had to pee, so we lost an hour...old bitty's!!! LOL!) All in all, it was a FANTASTIC experience ...very zen. Get this...one friend aboard hadn't been on (any) kind of boat in 38 years (she had been involved in a near fatal boat crash at 14) and today, was the day she conquered that fear of water-crafts. We all learned a lot from Captain Jardin and about ourselves. " and if the wind is right you can find the joy of innocence again" (christopher cross 1979) For information about this sail...you can reach Captain at this email [email protected] Or Call 409 572 2560 Do it!!!”
“We played a short concert for the folks who were there for the day. It’s an honor.
Great staff, caring and encouraging. It’s hard to get the old folks involved but they do a great job of keeping up the morale and interest.”
“I had the honor to join Adam Albright, owner of Baytown Ice, at the Marathon Petroleum/United Way fundraising Sporting Clays Event. The United Way of Galveston has done an outstanding job supporting the local community during hurricanes.”
“What a wonderful place, I took in a overdoor cat tree that my two big lads won't fit and was immediately offered a donation receipt. Then the lady went off to find seasalt, once in the adoption room the lady gave me all the information on seasalt including he had just had to have a tooth removed. I am now home day two and there is hissing between the three but no batting!!! Those people at galceston island humane society do a job that I am too much of a coward to do. Bless them”
“If you Have been thinking about investigating more about your spiritual side, the Unitarian universalist fellowship of Galveston county is a good place to start ( or continue).”
“Took my parents kayaking for the first time and we are so glad we went with Kristen! She was the perfect balance of patient and empowering. She's a marine biologist as well so had super cool things to share about the wetlands and all the birds we were able to see. We learned a lot and made some great memories!”
“THE BEST place to get Hawaiian Shirts! Super cheap - $7 - $12!! I have been collecting shirts from here for years. I never go to the island thrift shops because the prices and selection at Goodwill is the best on the island. Winning”
“MY time spent AT OUR DAILY BREAD was VERY SPECIAL AND HELPFUL The STAFF ARE SOO KIND And GRACIOUS IT'S BEEN A WHILE SINCE I WAS THERE I LOVE AND MISS EVERYONE”
