Only giving this a one star cuz I can't give it to zero My parents in their 70s accidentally made a mistake and booked a room for the same day through Priceline (The page reset itself and as my mom is trying to enter in their cruise information they asked for) called the hotel not even 5 minutes after they booked it to explain that it was an accident! Hotel would not give them their money back stating they had to have 24 hours prior notice even on a same day booking "by accident" took over $200 for my 70-year-old parents.... Then turned around and rebooked the room for somebody else!!

This is a beautiful old hotel, redone and styled in a grand look. We had absolutely no problems with our July 4th stay. We were there just a short time and did not experience many of the amenities such as the pool, hot tub, or restaurant. We did use room service and was pleasantly surprised how tasty the food was and impressed it only took 20 minutes to receive. The rooms are smaller than many comparable hotels, but not uncomfortably so. Efficient use of space with beautiful white marble bath. The location is great. Easy access to the ocean, shopping and dining.

Terrible experience. I booked a full ocean view room. Because I booked through a 3rd party Grand Galvez would not honor the reservation and gave me a partial view room. My confirmation number clearly stated ocean view. I will never stay here again.
Rooms: Weird layout.
Noteworthy details: None.

We booked a getaway at this hotel that seemed super cute! However, it was far from it. The pictures were a little deceiving, and the staff was kind of bad. The front desk guy was so bad (the ladies were great and super nice) at communicating and making us feel welcomed. The bartenders at the pool were so condescending to me and my friends only, as they would attend to everyone else even though we were there first and we patiently waited for our turn. And lastly the valet guys were so annoyed to be there. None of us will ever stay there again.
Furthermore the amenities are not worth the price.
Rooms: Rooms are cute and tiny

Another Marriott property where you can tell they do not take care of their staff. Give your staff breaks and hire more people. They were also out of a lot of food in both the pool restaurant and Monarch, every single time I tried to order something I was told they were out and I had to pick something else. I expected a lot more from this property

Terrible customer service. Had made a reservation for my wife and I to go enjoy this hotel but after the news said hurricane would be making landfall on Monday, we decided to not risk it.
Tried calling several times and was told to not worry because of the hurricane they would accommodate. After speaking to Joris, he told me they were very busy and would have to go through the emails to look for the request. A couple of hours later, we get notified that the request was not approved.
Joris himself recommended not going to the island but was still not willing to accommodate our stay. Terrible service and don’t recommend at all.

You cannot buy a pool day pass or rent a cabana unless you are a guest or have at least a 50 minute spa treatment. Ridiculous policy. Take my money, dummies!

Great location and love the exterior. They have changed a lot since we were here 3 yrs ago. Rooms were renovated but were small. The fridge barely holds a few bottles of water, and shower for some reason was high and small when you stepped in. If you're tall you'll hit. My 5' 10 husband could touch the cieling with his head. Wasn't really clean either there were stains. Service was great, just for the price and what we get in the room, not sure we'll come back.

Beautiful beautiful place, except the pool was filthy (please look at my pictures) and the air in our room made a loud banging noise when it turned off. Very hard to sleep at night!! ( also reported to the staff) The lobby is absolutely breathtaking and the restaurant is fabulous!!!!! All the staff were super amazing
Rooms: Small but beautiful!!!

Beautifully maintained historical property. Poolside service. Not appropriate for children as there are mostly adults. Certainly no canon balls or splashing in the pool. Hotel beautiful decorated.
Rooms: Beautifully decorated. Several USB outlets to accommodate devices. Great internet coverage even at pool.
Nearby activities: Murdochs pier and souvenirs. Pleasure Pier with rides and Bubba Gump seafood. Lots of restaurants all within walking distance.
Safety: Well patrolled and lit for evening walks and enjoyment. Watch the parking meter. They will get ya!
Walkability: Such nice strolling on the seawall with many restaurants and attractions nearby.
