“Great location as it is walking distance to some good restaurants and close to major sports venues like Minute Made Park and the Toyota Center.Rooms are clean, and the TV had a good selection of channels from HBO to ESPN etc.My only minor complaint is that the scent in the lobby can be a little too aromatic for some people. I enjoy more woody smells, but if you like perfume aromas, you'll like the scents.”

“Hotel very clean and everyone was nice. Van picked me up from the airport. Dinner was a non-event. Went down about 7pm and there were maybe 5 others at the bar. I have stayed at Hilton Gardens in the past and had exceptional service. This was not one of those experiences. The lady “working” the bar was hardly there. I ordered a drink finally and had planned to order dinner but could see she was not sure what she was doing when she was there. Most of the time she was in the kitchen. One gentleman near me had an empty bottle on the edge of the bar obviously waiting for another but was never asked if he wanted one. Others made comments she was either unskilled or overwhelmed. I finally paid for my drink and walked away. I was going to get some chips or popcorn in the snack area but there were none stocked. I got two beers, charged them to my room, and left. I will stay at another local property from here on.”

Hotel-airport shuttle isn’t 24/7 but runs from around 5am into the night. Not many/any food options nearby.”

“Was staying at a nearby Marriott and decided to pop in for a drink and a bite to eat, so glad I did! I got the steak fajitas which was flavorful and tender. The cocktails were amazing, complex and boozy, just the way I ordered it! The customer service is what really made this property stand out; everyone was professional, friendly and attentive, particularly Karen, the lead bartender and Kenneth, who was working with her that night. Would definitely recommend!”

“The rooms here are great and very clean. My complaint would be the fitness center. They have 3 treadmills and all were out of order. There no fans and even though they had a water dispenser, they had no cups. I did report it and hopefully will correct the issues.”

“The rooms are great. The manager is BEST, had a storm come thru and part of the hotel lost power. She came back to the hotel to move people to different rooms that had electricity. Then she called people that had reservations to let them know. You tell when you want your room cleaned and it's done. I will stay here everytime I can.”

“I’m so excited to share my experience at The Whitehall. Checkin was smooth. I was extremely satisfied that I extended my stay. The location was perfect and in proximity of great restaurants, banking and pharmacy. The staff is amazing , southern hospitality is real. I was greeted daily by name and there was convention held at the same time so I felt even special. Jose at the restaurant on 2nd floor made delicious margarita for me and my guest. I would recommend staying at The Whitehall.”

“Stayed here when my husband traveled to work. Rooms are very nice and clean. Bathroom is beautiful with good water pressure. Pillows were PERFECT! I got a great night sleep on the bed. Will stay here again!”

“Nice clean, recently refreshed hotel on the University of Houston campus. You don't have to be affiliated with the university, and can come and go, but it's basically on campus. (Take the left turn just before the maps tell you to, just after the guard shack, and parking is below on the right under the building, saves a U-turn). Rooms were clean and modern, Wi-Fi sufficiently fast, and the parking semi-secured in the underground garage. The restaurant has good food (I'm sure it's mostly probably per-prepared, but it was tasty non-the-less), and good drinks.At the time I stayed there were no events happening and the whole place was exceptionally quiet and uneventful. I'd say "chill", but that implies a "cool vibe"... this was just... there... existing.. if you want a painless, uneventful, non-memorable stay (sometimes those are the best) with minimal human interaction, this is your place. And in that part of Houston, particularly if you need to work a bit further East, this is one of the better safer options for both you and your vehicle.”

“Just went here for an hourly rental. Wasn't expecting much upon checkin, but this was surprisingly a pretty pleasant Palace Inn...I've visited my fair share, and some have been way below the quality of this location...so I definitely will be visiting again in the future.”

“After a long ride, it was a very peaceful and convenient place to stay when away from home. The room was very clean and very comfortable. The staff Victoria was very kind when calling to reserve and helpful with anything I needed also gave a few suggestions of areas I may like visiting for my weekend stay. She’s amazing we need more people with the customer service that was provided by her . In the evening Brandon with the black button was a doll with assisting me with extra bedding I needed. Very cool guy he’s very sweet and professional I loved his helpful attitude. With that kinda of treatment I felt more than valued as a guest/customer both 10/10. I recommend staying here. I felt very safe inside and outside. The complementary breakfast was great. Smells fresh and the staffing is awesome. We will be back! Thank you for being a great part of such an awesome weekend.”

“I can't tell you how mediocre this stay was. Hot water issues, TV and internet had issues, and the elevators. Holy moly the elevators. For a stretch there were no elevators, then one for the rest of the week. Checking out took us 20 mims just to get down to the lobby. The beds are poor quality, as are the pillows. The mattress toppers are old and ill fit, and the sheets are not the correct size or fitted so halfway through the night I had to remaket the bed because the mattress was exposed. The coffee service in room has paper cups and the room service is delivered in cardboard boxes in a paperbag. Found someones left over eyelash set on the floor. There is zero luxury here, everything is tired and the cost cutting is evident.”

“My son had a baseball tournament at the Univ of Houston recently, and we needed a healthy room at a fair price.We had read the reviews of this hotel, and decided to stay here. We are so thankful we did.For the price I can’t imagine getting a better room. The rooms have recently been updated with nice hard floors throughout. They were spotless. There is a 42 inch flat screen on the wall with cable access to over 70 channels. Our room had a min fridge and a small microwave. Our two beds were KING beds. Beds were good. And most importantly the AC blew COLD!The manager/owner (Paul) was so kind. And easy to help my accommodations. They had a hail storm on Friday night that knocked out the power for an evening (thankfully the AC wasn’t knocked out). Paul offered to comp the night’s stay. Very kind of him. (We declined since it wasn’t his fault).If you are looking for a no frills, safe, clean, affordable place to stay close to U of H, look no further.”
“*Sort reviews by date!*There are a handful of awful reviews in here that almost made me think twice about staying, but some of them were written four or more years ago. The room I stayed in was clean, all lights were bright, nothing seemed old or broken. All the outlets worked and the staff was on par. Great little spot that I would definitely stay at again. On thing to note is that it is close to train tracks, on one night a train just went nuts with blowing its horn”
