Dogs are super sick...WHY?

First off let me say, yes there is a lot of comments about sick puppies and they cover themselves by a " 14 day viral policy" because they are aware of the magnitude of sick puppies they sell.
We purchased a male frenchie recently and day one he had diarrhea and day two he was coughing and vomiting. He's being treated for an upper respiratory infection and Giardia. Both of which are contagious.
I didn't expect to have him on several medicines the first week home (less than a week). And what upsets me as well is he was paired with another dog in the kennel and the team basically told me that all animals are examined every two weeks so they'll eventually be treated: what if he was purchased before the two weeks, now he's going to home sick to another family.
Besides that. He was purchased from the breeder without the breeder knowing the intent to be sold at Petland for way more than he was bought for. And was disgusted when she found out.
We love our new addition to the family but I aim to spread awareness and hopefully save another family from purchasing here.

Petland sold me a puppy mill yorkie that was super ill ?, I didn’t even make it home with the puppy and she was foaming at the mouth and vomiting sick. They sold her 50% off and when l asked why, Dominic said it’s bc she’s almost 3mnths old, that was a lie! All their puppies are around 3mnths old. Yes their puppies are cute and furry but the are sick and carry a lot of diseases. They said it was kennel cough but that was a lie, she had so many trips to the hospital it was unreal so l returned their sick dog back to them a few months later and by the time l gave her back she was this super big strong dog that looked nothing like a yorkie but definitely a mixed breed.

Caio our pet trainer is the BEST! He was patient with our mini golden doodle and with us and help us train her so she can be a fully grown responsible dog.

I live I lower Alabama. I drove to Frisco Texas to get my puppy from Petland. They opened at 10am and from the first time I talked to anyone from there were so nice and informative. When I walked in the store everyone was nice and helpful.

We purchased our puppy from Petland on 11/15/2023, He was acting very lethargic when we brought him home and at first I thought it was because he was a puppy but then symptoms started to get worse. (most puppies are hyper and want to play) On the morning of 11/18 he started seizing, becoming extremely lethargic and couldn’t even stand up on his back legs. Immediately I called Pet nest to express my concern to them . The receptionist on the phone told me they do not have any availability, and he is probably scared. I took him to Creekside hospital on 11/18 when they told me no because I had a feeling something was wrong. Sure enough there was. They had him stay there for the night to monitor him due to his symptoms (refer to DR. Report) On the night of 11/20 he began having symptoms again. The morning of 11/21 I called pet nest again at 9 and they were able to get him in at 11:55. I took him there and I was told everything was fine and there was nothing wrong. Not even 4 hours later we were back at Creekside due to how bad his symptoms were. Clearly the doctor had a misdiagnosis. Throughout this whole situation we were in and out of the hospital with our dog from period of 11/18 to 2/10. We spent over 8k on medical bills and 5k on the dog itself. I tried contacting Petland at least 20 times or more to get answers and they always said we will have a manager call. Note I never spoke with a manager nor got a call back. On the day our puppy got sick I called Petland and expressed my concern but there was no empathy from them, They said there is nothing they can do and to call claims so I requested a manager. At one point in time the lady who answered the phone thought she put me on hold and said she would get the manager, little did she know I was not on hold and she stated “this annoying girl is on the phone and wont shut up, the manager said okay tell her I will get back to her and hang up” That right there is the most unprofessional call I have ever encountered. After that I escalated my issue to claims as I was told. I spoke with one lady most of the time due to the importance and extremeness of my claim then she left and I got transferred to another girl, there was no communication at all and the only thing I got told was my claim was denied due to no documentation even though it was sent over. There were multiple emails and claim requests but we never got a actual answer. Finally I told the lady I was speaking with who was in charge of my claim I need a answer or I am going to get a lawyer and she said that she cannot talk to me anymore and hung up. The amount of time I have spent on this is absolutely ridiculous and Petland is by far the worst place to buy a dog from it is a complete scam and I would NEVER recommend anyone to go there. When you pay 5 grand on a dog you expect it to be healthy, no one is asking for a perfect dog but in instances like this It would be expected that there will not be medical issues within 3 days of buying the dog. In the contract, it says you have 30 days to bring the dog to pet nest. Clearly shows what kind of organization they are working because they denied my dog who was in a fatal condition and would have died if it WERE NOT for Creekside helping him he would’ve died. He had Giardia, coccidia, bronchial pneumonia, and missing vertebrae in his spine which we were told can cause long term effects of his life. Still to this day almost a year after we bought him he is still having seizures. Petland gets their puppies from puppy mills, do not let them deceive you. If you sort the reviews by lowest you will see how many others have had this horrible experience. Most of the good reviews are probably fake as well. PLEASE DO NOT BUY FROM THIS AWFUL STORE. I wish I could post videos but Google won’t allow you to for reviews. Also Petland removed my review so I had to repost it :) Really classy!

They were wonderful! The package that comes with your puppy is the perfect accessory!! It helps in so many ways to help your puppy grow!! And helps the parents create a healthy environment and less stress when you bring home your new fur baby home! I truly would not buy a puppy any place else!!

Please contact Frisco Animal Services if you recently purchased a sick animal from this store. Even though the owner of this store was on probation from March to August this year for not isolating sick dogs from healthy dogs, sick animals continue to be sold.

We walked in Petland on August 17th 2924, really wasn’t our intentions to do so, only because of all the crazy stories & reviews. So to sum things up the rep Aarti was the person that help us, she was ok. She gave us the cute lil puppy to play with & boom just left us to go attend to other’s I guess for a whole minute. On several occasions I had to look up to see where she went & ask other staff to find the person helping us(I can see now how folks can just walk out with a puppy?) So we decided to buy goodness due to I’m a sucker for Shih Tzu’s, so took her home.
1. Night one went well
2. Next day she starts coughing Uumm I already knew, what was up(I made appointment for vet with in the 3rd day)
3. I noticed she had a lil diarrhea uugghh ?
4. Vet visit, and boom she had Kennel Cough, Worms & Giardia??♀️ $91.43(puts her on antibiotics, other meds)
5.The cough is gone after 2weeks, but she has an after sneezing now that on her vet visit on today Sept5th they say give her Benadryl to help with the congestion.
And just make sure to keep eating,drinking and being her playful self. Watch out for mucus out the nose or mouth or runny eyes.
So overall experience, Petland for $4500(over priced) she was priced, rep so called gave us a discount for the puppy $4300 & we still brought some lil items for her there. Uumm I wouldn’t buy again from there only due to the customer service experience, not really being explained, I think the company & the vet Petnest is working together(just my opinion)
I’m still paying for vet cost, visit and still have to make sure she doesn’t get sicker with this sneezing that she has so it won’t turn into pneumonia(?)
The company should really take better care of the pups, not keep them in one area, treat them with vaccinations while they’re there ( they gave her a shot & dewormer) the day I brought her.
Yes they do give you a lot of things to take home, my fur baby didn’t eat the food(cheap)at all, I had to go buy her the Shih Tzu puppy food ?
So to sum it all up, it’s a up or down with Petland but you will get a Cute Fur Baby, but be prepared to nurture it to health, over priced for a sick puppy or dog nope. The staff isn’t going to really going to deep details about the warranty(which it’s only covered within a certain time or circumstances) So Petland is like buying a used car & some of us knows how that can go Good Luck??♀️??♀️?ONLY GAVE THREE STARS CAUSE OF THE ADORABLE LIL PUPPY!
