This is by far the most stressful situation I have ever had regarding taxes. They are completely ignorant of tax law and the "tax pro" had to excuse herself to go verify the information I was showing her from the irs website. After discovering she was incorrect she complained that the new system wouldn't allow her to do something. The "tax pro" typed in the wrong address several times even though the address was right in front of her and had to reprint all the paperwork. I signed the paperwork on Wed at 1:30pm and it is Friday at 6:35pm and I still don't have a confirmation that everything was submitted correctly. This was not a complicated filing. It was literally just a 1040 for 2021 and 2022. 1 W2 per year. Standard deduction. When I called the office to ask again for the status, after giving her my phone number twice, she repeated it back incorrectly saying "oh there I go mixing up these numbers ". That is a direct quote. I was then referred to a help desk with a case number over text message. I called the number and it was a medical help line. After this, I asked them to put a hold on my taxes. To not submit them. I was not confident at all about their ability to file my taxes correctly. 2hrs after that request was submitted I got a text and email saying 2022 was accepted by the IRS. As of 7pm they still have no clue about 2021. I would feel more confident in giving $165 to my local crackhead to file my taxes with HR Block.
