Before today I didn't know much about Bank of America, 25 years ago I paid off an ex-wife's credit card there once.But you see there locations come and go quite frequently. At least in my area of Houston I have seen three or four pop-up and three or four go away just as quick. It wasn't until today that I began to understand why that was...A new client of mine who just moved into Houston gave me a retainer check today for a new project I'm going to do for them. And because it was a new account, low number, a checks and for some reason my bank could not authenticate the signature on the check via Bank of America.So they were going to have to put a hold on it until it cleared.I asked if there was anything I could do about the time lag and she looked at the check and she goes. There's a Bank of America just across the street. You just go cash it over there...So off I went check in hand...As I walk in the Bank of America branch no one was in there, two girls working the teller area and a guy at the entry door opening it for all who came and went.I got up to the teller and asked her that I would like to cash this check, she said sure no problem...Then I was asked if I had an account, I replied if I had an account. I just deposited it and not need the cash...She goes! Oh that makes sense...But since you don't have an account here, we're going to have to charge you to cash it...Just after I heard that out of the teller I was dealing with, a gentleman walked up to the teller next to me and all he wanted to do was deposit cash into an account that was not his...His teller looked at him and said you have an account here? He said no ma'am I don't...To which she replied. If you don't have an account here, we can't accept cash as a deposit. You have to bring it in as a check...Kind of interesting that that would happen the exact time that I was in there today...Just goes to show me they don't have good customer service at the Bank of America and I'll bet they charge way too many fees and fines... Why everyone doesn't go to Capital One? I'll never understand they have no fees and finds!!!!So as a result of all this...When I talked to my client and told him what had happened at the bank...He responded that he was having issues with them already as well and was already looking for a new banking institution. He was not surprised!So it looks like this branch may lose several more business....Nobody should have to pay for banking!!!

I was reluctant to come here as I saw only negative reviews. Luckily I didn't pay any attention to Karen because the service at this bank went above and beyond what I expected. Will definitely come back next time I have an urgent matter.

My husband and I are longtime customers with several accounts. My son was unable to open a student account online. The Pearland branch is closed, so he tried to do so at the video banking location. We were unable to access a representative at all. When he touched the IPad, there was no way to proceed to contact someone. We left. He took his business to USAA and easily opened a checking and savings account with them on the phone. We will be closing his savings account at B of A and moving the funds to his new USAA account.

Horrible!! Came in to see if I could close down my credit card. The lady said I had to make an appointment, so I made one for that next Friday at 9 am. She got my information and set up the appointment. I come in around 8:50 am and I sit down to wait as she said it would be a few minutes and someone would be with me. She said that she has an appointment ahead of me. How!? If she made my appointment at 9 am and I got there a few minutes beforehand!! I go up to sit down and she said that she guesses she can squeeze me in. I give her my license and she said that she can't close it and that I would have to call. I explained the same thing to her that I did to the Hispanic lady that booked my appointment. She was rude to begin with because she said that she wouldn't help me until I came in for my appointment. I explained that I called the number to close my account, but that the operator said that I would have to go into a branch, which is why I came into the branch in the first place. Horrible customer service!!

This "bank" is really neat, no actual personelle, use your debit card to enter the building and any of the video conference rooms inside. Secure for nighttime atm use as you can't get in without your debit card or digital wallet on your phone. Next to UTMBhealth and Total Nutrition. Close to me than the nearest drive up atm and significantly less busy!
