This place was such a gem! Karen and Rick were the best hosts and Karen’s cooking was the best food I had in Fredricksburg. I have a gluten sensitivity and she baked the most amazing gluten free scones, crepes and crustless breakfast quiche. The view is spectacular, and the location was awesome. It’s about 15 min from downtown Fredricksburg and about 20 min from Enchanted Rock (right in the middle of the two locations).
The room was so clean with everything I needed and the bed was so comfortable.
I went by myself as a little mom getaway and I was a little worried staying by myself without a friend or my husband, but I felt right at home. Loved that it was attached to the house which it made me feel very safe.
I am definitely coming back. I had such a great and restful time. Thank you Karen and Rick!
(I wish I could upload the pics I took, but for some reason I’m not getting that option on Google! Took pics of food and view.)

Oh my goodness, if I could give 100 stars it still wouldn’t cover the beauty of this B&B.
Rooms are beautiful, quiet, beyond spotless, private and the beds…..oh my Lord, the beds!!!! Then can we talk about the breakfasts!!!! Karen goes ABOVE and beyond, she is a gourmet cook and will cater to guests dietary restrictions and requirements!
Guranteed best breakfast in Fredericksburg❤️
Mr. Rick is such a great host, we felt right at home as we enjoyed exceptional conversations and laughs, he is a beautiful soul. As Christians, the love they gush out to their guests is refreshing, we are so thankful that the Lord crossed our paths this past weekend❤️
Please support this exceptional couple, you will NOT be disappointed!!!!
Rooms: Absolutely beautiful and comfy!

I have been to a few B&Bs but this one was top notch. And as previous reviewers mentioned, they are very accommodating. Our first morning they gave us some recommendations for vineyards and other places of interest.
The location is great, not too far from Fredericksburg. My wife and i went to celebrate Valentines Day for the weekend. After booking, I got some communications from Karen and Rick asking me about dietary restrictions. I relayed to them my wife's egg intolerance. They asked some clarifying questions and honestly i didn't think much of it. We arrived late, around 9:30, they greeted us as we walked in and showed us around before we went to bed. The beds are phenomenal. I prefer beds that are firm but this bed was a perfect blend of firm yet soft. We immediately disliked our bed at home. What sets this B&B apart is their hospitality. They enjoy having guests over and it shows. Our first breakfast was a crepe with cheese and ham, fresh friut bowl, country fried potatoes and danish. All home cooked, nothing store bought. It was excellent. Karen took the time to ask my wife of her tastes in food and found a perfect option for her to enjoy French toast. That was our 2nd breakfast FrenchToast with pecan cream cheese topping, a morning bun and fresh fruit. But my descriptions won't do it justice so I'll post pics. There food was so good, I seriously thought about requesting how much she would charge to make us dinner.
Rooms: Beds are very comfortable and you will have no trouble sleeping
Food & drinks: Karen's meals are the highlight of our treat along with their hospitality. They aline make it worth the stay

This review is late to the party. I have to say that my husband and I had an incredibly awesome experience here. First, there is a check-in time between 3:00pm and 6:00pm, but because of our work schedule, my husband and I weren’t able to check in until after 6:00, and Karen and Rick were very understanding and accommodating. Second, their hospitality was outstanding. This was our very first Bed & Breakfast experience and it was great!! Third, the food was absolutely delicious!!! Karen made individual quiches’s Saturday morning and French Toast Sunday morning, and not just regular French Toast, but it was French Toast with cream cheese (I am ashamed I forgot the flavor of the cream cheese) in between the slices, and the fruit bowls were very welcome. Our room had balloons and 2 cupcakes to help celebrating my birthday more special. And lastly their dogs, Gertie and Bear… love them!!! We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and are looking forward to staying here again. Thank you Rick and Karen for a wonderful stay!!!!!!!

Beautiful B&B with wonderful hosts, Karen & Rick. Gorgeous property with 3 rooms available, our room had a very comfortable king-sized bed, dresser, nightstands, and great sized closet, attached large bathroom with double vanity, and walk-in shower. Delicious gourmet home cooked breakfast prepared daily. Highly recommend a stay here. A short drive to Main Street Fredericksburg and local wineries. They have two wonderful pups, Gertie and Bear, Karen and Rick are mindful of those who may not be animal people (we were very happy to love on them).

The Porter Haus offers excellent accommodations and Karen ensured that my wife and I were comfortable for our entire stay. The room was very clean and the breakfasts that Karen prepared were excellent! We had a great time and we look forward to staying at Porter Haus again next time we visit Fredericksburg.

Nestled in the Texas Hill Country, Porter Haus B&B is the perfect get away. We were there for a three-night stay and Rick and Karen did a wonderful job of making us feel welcome. We visited several sites in the Fredricksburg area and enjoyed coming back to relax at Porter Haus. The food was beyond excellent as were the peaceful and relaxing accommodations. We highly recommend for everyone.

The Porter family was incredible during our weekend stay. The property is beautiful, the home and guest house were immaculately clean, and the service was top notch! Breakfast each morning was homemade with local ingredients and felt like it came from Grandma's kitchen. A phenomenal B&B experience!

Just returned from a long weekend, and had an excellent time. A couple things for folks traveling here and to this area. First, I booked this reservation with like 2 days lead time - and it wasn't a problem. We also arrived late in the evening which wasn't an issue at all and the hosts accommodated us easily. The property is spotless. Very clean, and very well appointed. We stayed in the Hummingbird room for a long weekend without kids and it was perfect. The property is located about a 10 minute ride outside of Fredericksburg which is great because you get to experience the feel in hill country. Our hosts provided good information about the area and gave excellent recommendations on wineries in the area as well as restaurants. Did not have a bad meal, or a bad winery experience the entire time.Now. Breakfast. 3 days of fantastic breakfast that was creative, and thoughtful. Loved each meal more than the next. It was nice to visit with the other guests in the morning, and our hosts were so welcoming having us in their home. You won't go wrong here, and you'll find that the Fredericksburg area is a real hidden gem.

My husband and I have just spent a lovely weekend at the Porter's B&B. Great People, awesome food and beautiful rooms. Way better than a hotel even a 5 star one. We were there to relax and enjoy the Hill Country and came home with new friendship. We are actually visiting them again next month.

The Porter Haus is a bed and breakfast that is operated with kindness, humility, and love. Karen puts great effort into her delicious breakfasts, everything she cooks is fresh and made from scratch. The room we stayed in was called hummingbird, it was spacious and beautifully furnished. The water is almost instantly hot better then an average hotel water quality. Their love for people is evident and welcoming. They have two dogs both of which are sweet, bear is a bit on the nervous side but not scary. I highly recommend a stay here.
