They found me a dog almost a year ago and she’s a wonderful fit for our family. I was a little to butt heavy and have since increased my exercise 10 fold. And the little dog loves it. I walk with her out in the yard to go potty and the yard is looking better then ever, on just a few moments a day. Then we take a short walk walk at night to empty her all out. Works like a charm.
My only regret is we live in a very small home and so a big dog won’t fit. Think of what could happen we could do a big dog. We would take big walks, I would get skinny, from the walk and carrying the 10lb dog in my arms.
Thank you very much Hill Country SPCA

Clean and caring. We picked up a life partner ten years ago. Been back several times to drop off supplies they could use for the furries.

Lovely and knowledgeable staff with a great facility! Started my journey a bit bumpy when I thought I was applying for a specific kitten only to find out getting approved and scheduling a meet and greet does not mean someone else can't adopt them first in person. It was definitely upsetting, and I wish they had informed us of that possibility so we could have made a more informed decision before we had lost out on said kitten due to having 9-5 jobs that would have made it hard to just drop by as soon as we wanted to. However, once I knew how their policy worked, we did get our newest family addition with a lot more ease and we couldn't be happier! Would still recommend going to them for a pet despite the initial heartbreak, just hoping to make sure others know to be quick if there's a specific animal you're interested in! Thank you guys so much for all you do!

I don't ever leave negative reviews but that all changes today. I recently put in my adoption paperwork online for one particular kitten and after a day, I was called by the volunteer coordinator that my application had been approved for this kitten who was 2.5 weeks old. She also asked if I wanted to schedule an appointment to see the kitten, which we set for this week.
I notice a Facebook post showing the kitten and one of the Hill Country SPCA employees had mention that my kitten was still available. I then receive a call almost immediately from them stating that they had already adopted my kitten out to someone else but if there was another cat I would be interested in. I told her that someone had already left me a voicemail (which I still have) and I had spoken with that person on the phone about my adoption being approved FOR THIS KITTEN. She only stated that my "application" was approved but not for the kitten I chose.
I have worked with several non-profits rescuing, fostering, adoptions for several years and I have never been treated like this before. I find this unethical, unprofessional and downright mean. I would absolutely be leery if you are interested in adopting a particular cat or dog at HCSPCA.

We had been looking to adopt a puppy for a while, and couldn't find 1 that we would fall in love, until we got to the Hill Country SPCA, from the adoption process, from them keeping in contact with is while they had to have her for 4 weeks, from her surgery day, it was amazing. This is the place to come, when is time for your family to adopt the right dog. God Bless You All, and THANK YOU

Adopted a 65 pounds 1.2 yo black mixed dog who had been there 8 months. She believes she is a lap dog. The facility is very clean, has a nice area for dogs to play. Pets are very well taken care off. Very nice people. In the near future, we plan to volunteer and/or foster doggies.

Picked up this beautiful puppy last week from the Hill Country SPCA. What a fantastic facility this is. It is very clean inside and out. It far exceeded my expectation of these societies. It is clear they have a love of animals here and the environment they live in!
