Dr. Slough (rhymes with Wow!) is excellent, relaxed and kind. He is just one Veterinarian in this practice, one of whom is always on call. His staff members are professional and caring. The facility is first rate.

My dog Trixie has been a patient at this clinic for a few months now. The week following Labor Day she had a vet appointment to diagnose a serious illness that she was experiencing. Mind you, my husband and I were VERY tight on money.
When I explained everything to the staff members, they put Trixie health care first. They then devised a plan and discussed financial options with me.
I have never experienced such care and respect from any vet I’ve ever visited. I truly appreciate all that they do.

I've enjoyed a career for over 22 years in the veterinary business and have been in many practices and visited many hospital teams. Woodland Springs Veterinary Hospital is the way things should be at your local veterinary care facility. Here's why:
Late in the day on a Tuesday, my 11-year dog was lethargic, not eating, and his stomach was severely bloated. I called several closer veterinarians to see my dog could get in and evaluated. All referred me to ER, which I knew was going to be a significant increase in expense. On a dice roll, I called Woodland Springs an hour before they closed, and I still had a half-hour car trip before I could even get there at my earliest. They said, "Absolutely, bring him in. We'll take a look and see how we can help."
Upon arriving, I was directed into a room and the team started assessing. His situation was potentially life-threatening, and my family was under a lot of stress to know what to do. The entire team was super professional and focused on helping take care of my dog and yet, still warm and kind, at the same time, explaining everything as it unfolded. Fortunately, he did not require emergency treatment and just needed some supportive care and monitoring. Today, he is doing just fine, and everything has resolved.
I can't say enough about the entire team at Woodland Springs, from Kali in nursing to the veterinarians, Dr. Via and Dr. Slough, Katy in Customer Care, and Debi in management. At no time, by any of the team, did they look put out or annoyed we were there so late with what was possibly an extensive medical case, even when it was time for them to close down and go home.
On top of our interaction with the staff, the facility is clean and beautiful, which is an obvious marker that people in the practice care.
And when you want caring, medical professionals to help you with your pet, I would not look any place else. Bar none, Woodland Springs is a premier veterinary hospital in the DFW area with an excellent group of people to serve you and your pet.

Fantastic job today. Woodlands has always taken care of all our dogs, even the special needs Border Collie. We highly recommend them to anyone who cares to have their loved dogs cared for like they were family. We know they are in good hands. You can trust Woodlands.

We have been bringing our dogs here since one was born 6 years ago and the other was adopted 5 years ago. In all that time we’ve never had a negative experience. The entire staff is always kind and easy to work with. During one particular visit, my dog had a seizure on-site and the Veterinarian was calm and quick with remedying the situation. Highly recommend!

Don’t seem to care about the animals like they once did. You can’t go here without spending $400. They won’t refill scripts that have fills. Recommend going somewhere else since they just aren’t good anymore (they used to be).
Edit: Jeter did have 2 fills and had been seen within the year mark. I have 2 herniated discs and he is 140pounds and cannot jump in or out of the car. To be able to come into the vet for a lifelong thyroid condition before he was due, when he had fills is excessive and proves the point of not caring or understanding… In addition, to even find out why his skin and his mood was so low, we had to request a thyroid test… the vet never tested his thyroid but prescribed him apoquel which is 200 a month. Thyroid meds are $60. So it was less profit for them to actually try to dx the issue. They are money hungry and do not care about their patients. Furthermore, we brought in a dog and asked about a growth on his toe. They said it was no big deal (charging us $400 of course for the wack dx). After it grew twice the size, we brought him back…it was cancer. Which at the point had spread too far to treat.

I love my beautiful Bully Boys as much as I love my own life. When it comes to their care I look for the best, the vets who will love and understand my dogs need as much as I do. Woodland Springs is the best of the best and I appreciate all the love and care they give my Ace and Bleu. Both my boys love them to include the wonderful people who work up front. I cannot testify to if they are costly because there is no cost too big for my Bulldogs. They do anything and everything to help me keep my English bulldogs healthy. Thanks for all you do. I highly recommend this Veterinary hospital.

The team at Woodland Springs Veterinary Hospital really is the best you could ever ask for! The front-desk staff, the techs, and the vets are all friendly and professional. Our cat has been having a rough time, but we know she’s in good hands with Dr. Via, Dr. Chen, and everyone else we’ve had the pleasure of meeting. They really do go above and beyond. Our girl is feeling much better, and we couldn’t be more grateful!

I’ve had two Pomeranians treated at this location by Dr. Chen. Both times the issues with my furry babies always felt back to themselves and the condition always correctly diagnosed and treated.
Shout out to the front office staff for always being friendly and I know that can be hard at times. Helping with foods and setting appointments, all while being genuinely nice and a great team.
The back office is amazing and they listen to your concerns and are very upfront about costs. They really do treat your furry baby with love and care.
Dr. Chen has been truly amazing. I can see her love for all pets even when they’re dirty and their breath is disgusting. She truly loves what she does and cares. All my years seeing different veterinarians and I must say she is the BEST of the best. She offers her recommendations and is understanding about funding expensive vet care without judgement. She is non-judgmental and really wants to educate you on how to better care for your pet. No other veterinarian has ever really educated me on pet care like her.
I must say the office visit fee is a little more than most vet clinics (only very small negative, I had to find something). Both times I took my dogs in it was around $300 each time, but it was worth it.
Dr. Chen correctly diagnosed my little sick old Pomeranian with diabetes which is heartbreaking. She did a urinalysis and full blood work up and found the issue so no unnecessary tests. She called me personally, emailed all her recommendations and all my furry girls labs for me to review myself. She will now require insulin for the rest of her life, but had she not found this my furry baby would have died very soon as her blood sugar was so high.
I give 5 stars. They care. They love. They’re reasonably priced. Easy to set appointment quickly. All around great experiences.
Thank you!
