My dogs have been extremely well cared for by Dr. Paul Hendon for 33 years. I started to see him even before he joined Dr. Gumfory at Westcreek Animal Hospital. I have simply no words to express my deep gratitude to him and all the Westcreek staff. There is no other no animal clinic that compares to these people not only in their exemplary service but their deep compassion as well. I am forever grateful for their undying commitment to excellent expertise when it comes to serving what are often times our truly best friends.

Dr. Gumfory has been our family vet for many years. I worked in vet medicine for around 10 years (many years ago) and he's the best vet I've ever met. He is thorough, experienced obviously, conservative and logical about next steps in diagnostics. Many vets that arent as skilled and experienced often will rely on expensive diagnostic, sometimes invasive tests rather just good sense and following a logical plan to rule out different diagnoses. Dr. Gumfory will have very well thought out treatment plans and be considerate of costs /age of pet, etc. while offering a range of options. He also has incredible bedside manor and is the sweetest guy. We love him so much. Our older dog Indigo broke her leg severely and orthopedic surgery just wasn't an option for us. Dr. Gumfory understood my limitations and splinted her leg and created a plan that works for us. She's never been better!Dr. Wallace is new to us, but our dog William was attacked and in bad shape at an ER vet right after our other dog broke her leg. I felt uncomfortable with their treatment recommendations and didn't feel confident in their abilities at all. They immediately had a tech walk in and talk to us about exploratory surgery before they had even examined him. Then hours later he was still in terrible pain and I could hear him screaming. I decided enough was enough and called Westcreek. They got us in right away, helped assess William. Dr. Wallace really seemed to have a better grasp on what should actually be done. It wasn't exploratory surgery. We were able to get him comfortable and 2 days later (today) he is doing great. He absolutely did not need an invasive, expensive, exploratory surgery and seemed to be a stupid risk to take before they had even been able to shave him and assess his wounds. Dr. Wallace reviewed his reports thoroughly, offered to send us overnight to an ER in fort worth as best possible option or said we could take him home on meds. She advised us what to watch for and made sure he wasn't in pain to the point that he wouldn't be able to get rest. Today, she came and checked on William too even though William wasn't scheduled with her today for a recheck. She also called in meds to give him a little extra sedation and checked in to make sure things seemed to be on the right track.Reggie the vet tech is the sweetest guy. He's thorough and really is good at remembering everything to tell you, getting meds, coordinating all your next steps. He's very good at his job and doesn't ever seem flustered even with a lot of little details to follow up on and evening pick up chaos.Don't go anywhere else. This is the best place, with the best care with people who care.

Been using Dr Gumfory for over 30 years, he will love your babies like his own!! NOTE: Just learned that Dr Gumfory sold his practice to a national chain. Hoping that the care and service will continue, but was informed that the prices will be going up. Be warned.UPDATE: Will never go back there. Terribly expensive, very callous treatment, lax about calling with updates.

After almost a year of being a client, I feel like that it's finally time to write a review. And I rarely write 5-star reviews; however, VCA Westcreek and Dr. McNeal & team deserve it ten-fold. I moved back to DFW last summer and initially, I only intended to come to this practice temporarily until I found "my vet." Well, after one visit with Dr. Hendon I thought that this place might be it. I went back a few weeks later with another one of my cats "just in case" that was a fluke but this time we were scheduled with Dr. McNeal and boy, let me tell you that the way she examined my cat so as not to miss anything was so freaking refreshing! So many vets prior would do an examination and miss EVERYTHING! She was so thorough and I love that she takes the time to teach (she always gives me print-outs of an issue we've discussed during an appointment and/or medication she recommends). Dr. McNeal is truly a gift to this practice, its clients, and patients. Please don't ever retire! lol (I mean, she can but please clone her first.) The staff is equally wonderful and I will never forget how they took the time to teach me how to give my cat sub-q fluids. Additionally, I love their CareClub plan. Grateful for it as my cats are getting older and issues are suddenly emerging every month, it seems. Wonderful practice and staff. I'm so glad I found this place!

Called about seeing a 4 month old kitten and was going to charge $800 just to be seen. When I stated I didn't have that kind of money currently, the receptionist said and I quote "then you dont need to be caring for an animal." Had my kitten started to show the symptoms a few days ago I would've had the funds. I dont want to go to a place where they see it fit to mock/slander people who arent "well off".

I love this place! Dr.McNeal was amazing, she was so sweet and helpful. I never felt judged or talked down to for not knowing something. All the staff I encountered there were awesome, I just know my kitty Luna felt the love. I had to put my kitty down and I would not have taken him anywhere else to have spent his last moments. Dr.McNeal did not leave his side even after I left and she gave me a hug and showed her sympathy before I left , She is just the sweetest. I got Luna cremated and the Dr. let me know that once his ashes came back I didn’t have to pick him up right away if I wasn’t ready. After I got his ashes the VCA hospital sent me a card expressing their condolences and they even took the time to take Luna’s paw print. I was so sad that I couldn’t get a good one before he passed so this made me break down crying all over again. I’m just so blessed to have found this place before Luna passed, and I hope other people and their fur babies get to have a great experience here too. I’ll probably never have another pet again but if I did I would definitely come back here. Blessings to all the staff at VCA Westcreek hospital ?

You can tell this team cares for their patients. Dr. Gumfory was very informative, explained the entire process and possibilities for if the treatment wouldn't work, which it did. They were all very friendly with my pup. They managed to double check with their appointments and squeeze me in the next day for my Service Dog's eye issue. I highly recommend this Animal Hospital

My elderly dog suffered from the end stages of liver failure, and I'lll give Dr. McNeal credit for letting me know that when the time came, I could call to discuss how to handle his approaching death and makes plans. Let me make clear that I have had wonderful experiences with all the veterinarians here - all of them throughout the years that I have taken my four dogs here. However, the morning that my dog went into shock and clearly was dying, I called and spoke to a receptionist I'll leave unnamed. I made clear that my dog was in the process of dying and asked if I could bring him in on an emergent basis to be humanely euthanized. Abby coldly stated there were no current appointments that day and that I would have to wait two weeks out. It astounded me that she not only displayed zero empathy towards my dog's situation but was not listening to the urgency of what I was saying. She then, in annoyed manner, stated that I could bring my dog in for an extra $100 fee to be seen by a vet, which tells me she wasn't even listening to me or my concerns, as my dog was actively dying. Before I could answer, she placed me on hold, then came back, sounding very irritated that I did not accept either of the options she offered. I hung up on her, admittedly, out of sheer shock and rage. It's like having someone not accommodate your child that is needlessly suffering while dying. I called their corporate office and made them aware of the situation, as I have to take my dog to an emergency center to have him put down. It was traumatic regardless but this was not how I envisioned him last moments to be, not at some emergency center but rather where I had taken him for years. Corporate contacted Dr. Gumfory, who went out of his way to repeatedly call me to apologize and attempt to do damage control for his staff's actions. Although I do appreciate the corporate office and Dr. Gumfory reaching out, it was too soon (TOO SOON) for Dr. Gumfory to immediately continue calling me after his staff made no effort to accommodate me when I needed them, and honestly, no apology is going to make up for your staff's severe fuck-up. You can't train someone to have empathy, Dr. Gumfory...you should have fired her. Imagine me - sitting there with my dying dog, his head rolling back and forth because there's no muscle tone, he's in and out of consciousness, I'm holding back tears - trying to set an appointment that YOUR emotionless, empathy-lacking staff member should have had the ability to accommodate me in that specific moment of time - not make an already traumatic event worse. To the unnamed receptionist, if you read this, karma is unforgiving. Just as you had no mercy for my dog in his last moments or my attempts to help him not suffer, perhaps karma will be just as ruthless as you were that day if it revisits you. For all the years of excellent service with Westcreek Animal Hospital, it took that one call/experience to completely destroy your reputation, integrity as providers and overall credibility with me. Others please be forewarned. I never expected this to happen to my dog, nor would I want it to happen to anyone else. Be wary of them; some of the receptionists power trip, lack empathy, and take that power that can determine your dog's treatment outcomes.

Absolutely love this place. All the staff here are so kind and they really care about your animals. Took my cats in for some tests and they must've worked late because they got the results to me after operating hours. I was expecting to get the results later in the week but they got them to me ASAP. Definitely put my mind at ease and they treat my pets with lots of love.

This is the most amazing place ever for your animals. Dr. Hendon and Dr. Gumfory are the greatest along with all the staff here. I just had to have my little boy Tooter put to sleep this past Saturday and it was gut-wrenching. Dr. Gumfory did a thorough exam on him and found out he was riddled with cancer. He assured me I was making the right decision and could not have been more assuring and caring through this unsettling process. My wife and I love them like family and highly recommend Westcreek for any and all of your fur babies needs. Thank you again, Dr. Gumfory....you made the worst day of my life alot easier to deal with. God Bless you All !!Randy & Janet JohnsonWedgewood EastFort Worth, Texas
