I have 3 5-star Google reviews and that's it, so this will be the first (generally) negative review I've ever written because my default is the benefit of a doubt. The bottom line though about Madera is to just make sure you physically see/tour the actual unit you will be renting and do not take a chance by just touring an 'identical' unit and then signing a lease sight unseen.I was recently in the process of renting a 3BR townhome (unit 3112) and I toured an identical unit as mine was not ready yet. The unit looked good with no major issues, although it did not have washer/dryer which made me suspect it is just their show unit. Afterwards, upon reviewing the lease and seeing some of the most landlord friendly language I've ever seen, my antennas went up.Being an out-of-towner, I sent a family member over to facetime me from my actual unit before I was comfortable signing the lease. I'm glad I did. My unit had clear signs of water damage sloppily painted over, you could see daylight looking out to the street from the front door jamb, paint drops on the floor throughout, and many other cosmetic problems (reach out point to point if you want pics). Overall - it was clear to me that the units are just cheaply constructed, poorly maintained, and that the only thing identical with the unit I toured was the floor plan.I’m bummed because the location is fantastic, the staff was super friendly and accommodating when I flew in to DFW last minute for a tour, and the amenities were top-notch. The staff did offer to make any additional repairs before move-in, but I ultimately decided the unit itself just wasn’t worth the price point. But to each their own, just make sure you see your actual unit before agreeing to their lease.

I have lived at this complex now for almost three years. I have always received great communication and friendliness from the front office, and reliable service from the maintenance team.More particularly I wanted to shout out, Gabrielle, one of the young ladies that works in the front office. Any and every time that I need help she is always very sincere and approachable regardless if it is a negative situation or positive. Carrying that sort of attitude is a rare find in today’s world. Her contributions make this place a wonderful place to live!

Just moved here from another state. It’s been an amazing place to live that has given me chances to meet so many other people! This was my first event to attend as a local. The Jackals team were very nice and inviting. I cannot wait to go to a game. Go Jackals!

The staff is very friendly and the apts are very nice. I like the amenities though I wish they would have more resident events. I am only detracting due to issues with the garage being repeatedly broken

Big brother syndrom here. They want to monitor your every guest. This place is like a compound. Way too strict of a guest policy...and not normal even if they try to say it is. Plus, spaces are way to small for the amount of rent. Choose freedom and dont live here!

Extremely appreciative of Ms. Mycheala Jackson. I don’t often have to interact with the management team really at all but, when I do I’ve been blessed to communicate with Ms. Jackson. She’s always polite and has an attitude of how can I truly help in what ever way I can. Someone who truly understands people skills and treating others like kindly. Thank you Mycheala, you’re an awesome human being and I without a doubt know that the world would be a better place if more people cared and communicated as you do.

I have never once posted a google review before but with my experience I feel like I should. My husband and I have lived here for almost 2 years, but boy was renewing our lease for year 2 a major mistake. Over 6 months ago we noticed a water spot starting to show up on the ceiling of one of our bedrooms that quickly developed into a mold spot. We put in a maintenance request to resolve the obvious roof leak that was happening. We were told roofers were coming to fix it and that the drywall would be fixed once that was done. When they came to “fix” the drywall all they did was paint over it. Fast forward to the next big rain, the water spot started returning immediately and quickly escalated to water actually dripping through our ceiling requiring us to move all our stuff out of the way and keep a bowl on the floor to catch all the rain. That moldy hole in the ceiling (pic shared) stayed there for multiple months while we were told about 3 more times that roofers came and made repairs so we needed to “wait til the next rain” to confirm it was fixed and then they would fix drywall… go figure, each time it rained, it started dripping again. Fast forward to now, I’m over 8 months pregnant, still have a roof leak issue, so decided I needed a cleaner/safer living environment to bring baby home to so am exploring moving out 3 months early from our lease end date…. And they WILL NOT budge on the early termination fee of almost 5 thousand dollars (over 2 months rent amount) even though we have paid for a two bedroom apartment that we have only been able to utilize one bedroom in for the last 6 months. Not to mention that it wasn’t until we mentioned moving out early that I EVER saw an actual roofer come to our apartment, had only seen regular maintenance workers prior. Texas tenant laws say roof leaks are required to be repaired within 7 days… we gave them 6 months of back and forth and are still left with them requesting more of our money. Knowing what I know now, I would NEVER recommend living at a Madera property. The office staff are friendly, but behind the scenes corporate runs the show and it’s very clear that they do not care about doing good business and do not care about their tenants having a safe living environment.
