Roy Pope Grocery is a historic boutique grocery store off Camp Bowie, less than 2 miles from the Justin and Dickies Arenas. Reopened in May 2021, the store is under new ownership with restaurateurs who have renovated and updated the space. A classic neighborhood grocery located within the Shady Oaks, Rivercrest and Monticello areas, it features an extensive wine department, hot and cold delicatessen, butcher, and a Coffee Tea Wine Bar, as well as the typical grocery items. Open 7 days a week, 7am to 9pm, it offers breakfast, lunch and dinner. Customers have mixed reviews, with some disappointed by the lunch counter and feeling the food is overpriced, while others praise the delicious sandwiches, especially the Cuban, chicken pesto, and burger, all served on Martin's potato buns. The coffee and drinks also receive positive feedback, and the store is described as a great studying spot with a welcoming atmosphere, including a flower arrangement class. Despite some initial issues, the staff is praised for their hard work and friendly service.
Pretty good sandwiches. A coffee=wine bar, restaurant, and grocery store all in one.

Food is pretty good. A little pricey. Call me old fashioned, but I'm not a fan of all the CBD drinks mixed into the drink racks.

I can't speak to the coffee or the butchers, but I know I was disappointed with the lunch counter. Paid $12 for a sandwich I could have easily made better at home
