I have been involved with this auction I guess about twenty years. You can find some good deals if you search. But I don't believe the auction is fair. Don't be surprised if you are banned For no reason other than a misunderstanding. So be extremely careful to obey all the rules to a T. I would advise you to go see the vehicles in person. Countless times pictures have been taken at angles That either hides or does not reveal damage or major flaws on the vehicle. You can definitely get some good cars, but be very careful. And do not trust this action.

Had been watching Lone Star's online auctions for some time and finally decided to take the plunge. Signed up (Drivers license and valid credit card required) and 2 days later I was approved to start bidding on live auctions. Lone Star DOES NOT own the vehicles being auctioned. They are the auction administrator for local municipalities, school districts, towing companies, etc. Not a lot of info is provided on vehicles so I HIGHLY suggest you go by and see the vehicles before bidding. Pictures can be misleading and you should know what you are getting into.I find there are good online resources for researching the vehicles to give you a better idea on mileage or if it has been previously wrecked / stolen.Just won my first auction and the process was very simple afterwards.1) Went to the Lone Star office and paid what I owed and received the receipt of the sale. I paid cash this time, but in the future I will do a wire transfer. NOTE: Lone Star DOES NOT allow concealed or open carry and they have the proper 30.06 / 30.07 signs displayed.2) Took this receipt to the company holding the vehicle (in this case, a towing company) to show proof of purchase.3) When I took the receipt in, I also had a TXDoT approved towing company meet me to haul the vehicle to my home.Overall, the process was simple and I am extremely pleased with my first purchase. Some points to keep in mind:1) many of the vehicles are non-repairable or are not in working condition. Read the info on any auction you plan to bid on. Some vehicles cannot be titled.2) if you win an auction, remember there is a Premium of 10%-13% over and above your bid that you will owe. Paying in cash results in a lower premium applied to your purchase. Also, depending on the item, you may also be assessed tax. A $5,000 winning bid could easily cost you $6,000 out-of-pocket - so BE PREPARED.3) Read the requirements from the item owner. Some only require the receipt and your driver's license. Others want two copies and other info.4) the info you provide Lone Star will be used to fill in all paperwork. Make sure it's accurate. You can't use your name and then have someone else go get it.5) Many places require a TxDoT approved tow company to take the vehicle off their lot. Don't expect them to load it on your own trailer or dolly.Best of luck to you!

One of your drivers (DVM 7736) was following me so cliae behind me that I couldn't see their plate right away and then he sped past me using the median also kicking rocks at my widow doing so. This was incredibly dangerous and illegal. Something needs to happen to this driver. This happened in Seabrook, TX around 8:40am on December 27,2022.

Would be a great concept for families who are needing to purchase a reliable car who don't have a lot of money. But the auction site is monopolized by the same greedy car dealers who use the system to outbid normal citizens every single day. These car dealers will go resale the car and finance it for way more then the car is worth. Lone star allows this unfair practice. If you want a decent car on this site be prepared to bid against greedy car dealers who don't mind bidding over what the vehicle is worth because they will just resale the vehicle to another needy family for double the price. No one cares about fair practices anymore as long as the all mighty dollar is involved.

I had opened a account back in 2016 and used that year to purchased a vehicle which i did not win. Few days ago i try to login and not able to login so i had call the office and they had told me that my account was banned from 2019. For a failed payment which very odd. But i would really like this issue to get resolved but who knows. I am very interested using the service but until then i just have to use rene bates auctioneers or JD newell auctions to give my business.

The customer service at this place is really bad. They will never ever return your calls no matter how many messages you leave, and if there is an issue whatsoever… you won’t ever get it resolved. I would stay away from dealing with them at all cost.
