The James L West Center has been a lifesaver for my grandmother and I. She attends 5 days a week and is always saying how much she enjoys the staff and the activities they provide. They do a great job keeping her engaged and safe throughout the day. She loves it, which means I do too!

In the world of dementia care, James L West Center in Ft Worth is as good as it gets. Before choosing them, we explored many using our checklist of concerns. We have had my husband in their facility for 10 months without one issue! They are the best!

Staff discussions of my husband's conditions and habits were extremely helpful to enable me to understand his situation as he sees it. That gives me insights on how to respond to his conversations and conduct in ways I did not grasp before moving into this strange new world. There is no way to express how deeply grateful I am.

I’ve worked for James L West 3 years in March and I genuinely enjoy my time here. The residents we care for have a special place in my heart. Working here, gives me a sense of purpose. I truly believe this is the best place to have your loved ones with dementia stay. The team here know what they’re doing and are experts. We have doctors here like Barbara, Dr. Kenable and Dr. Ross that have been here for years. They offer so many different services from foot doctors, a lady that cuts hair, delicious foods that is overseen by a lady named Pam, that has been here since the day it opened (most incredible human that I’m proud to say I work under) a talented music therapist Cara, the most intelligent women, our DON Tanisha, life enrichment team, directed by Valynda (Lady full of smiles) knows exactly what she’s doing when it comes to these residents, and the substantial amount of entertainment that walks thru our doors, the housekeepers that maintain cleanliness throughout the building, lead by Stephanie, and the Maintanence team, lead by Jason that does a whole lot. There are plenty of awesome people that work for this company that adore and love our residents. I would like to add that we do have a day program and the team worked very hard to get Medicare approved recently for short term rehab which is a huge plus. I know I can’t convince you to choose your family member to stay here, but I wanted to give my insight as a cook here and what I’ve seen in my 3 years of working on how we care of each resident all around. Your loved one will be safe, loved, adored, and well taken care of here at James L. West.

I regret the day that I decided to entrust my loved one to an organization that only cares about how many beds they can fill versus the safety and admiration for the resident.

My father has been at James L. West for about nine months. It was a very hard decision to not have him keep living at home, but after a fall and head injury, we had no choice. West has been truly amazing. They train their own staff offering free training for CNAs. Everyone working here is truly wonderful. They weed out the sad sacks! They have actives to try and keep the residents stimulated and moving, both mind and body. I don’t have the words to express our gratitude for West and all its employees. If your loved one has dementia, come here first. I understand the difficult and I hope your experience is as good as ours has been.

I just want to say that this is absolutely the best facility for anyone to take their loved ones to. My mother misses this place when they are closed. The staff are incredibly nice and take very good care of the people. I highly recommend.

Real nice place from the outside to the interior. I can say they are very careful when it comes to Covid and have you take a rapid test upon entering if you are new and just visiting. Great staff, I was a little upset they told me they accepted Medicare when I booked my appointment then when I arrived I was told they only took self pay and it started at 2,500$ a month. Looking at the program's they do seem to have a C lot to offer people who have dementia. I'd certainly go there myself if I needed it or if I had the extra money to have my granny there.

I work for a agency as a nurse we help out when needed at pretty much every facility around the metroplex. While some of the complaints I’ve read simply go along with the territory of caring for dementia patients this facility is one I would definitely recommend. Dementia patients are at times going to fall, they are at times going to be combative and sometimes they are very difficult to care for or refuse care…hence the reason most families reach out for additional help. The staff at JLW care. They know more about the patients than most of the families and treat them like they are family. I can honestly say for memory care and dementia this is going to be top level of care and I’ve seen THEM ALL. Some of the poor reviews are going to be families who have not dealt with dementia other than in their loved ones. Every time I go I have the supplies I need, the medications I need and staff who are more than happy to help with any questions I may have about the patients. I would definitely recommend them for long term care.

Many falls and injuries during time there . Need to watch them better during nights . My loved one was not shaved or given decent bath for 2 weeks . They showcase spa bath but never use them . Attention to detail with personal items and inventory was lacking. Food was good . Physical therapy was excellent . Wounds from falls were not cleaned and bandages changed often enough .

James L West is truly the best residential care facility around for people with dementia. During the last 2 years of my father's life, the staff provided unparalleled care and love to him. They gave my dad a soft landing and a gentle end to his remarkable life. I will always be thankful for this and am happy to give them my highest recommendation without reservation!
