Once again I’ve been out investigating local locations just to see what we have in and around town so what you get here is a first impression on seeing the grounds and not a full report what it’s like to stay the night. I can’t just be staying everywhere all night every night. ? That could add up.Hotel Otto defines itself as off the beaten path, but within sight of it and I’d rate that a true. You can access Fort Worth and its many amenities with very little trouble, but you can’t do so on foot from this location; you'll definitely need a car to get there. Seven minutes for example if you ignore the “quirky, contemporary Italian-American eatery (Gemelle) with a full bar, garden patio & bocce ball courts that serves side of rabbit rattlesnake sausage for breakfast” and drive to the Velvet Taco to get yourself a late night taco. 1 hour 34 minutes if you walk. The hotel sits straight across from the Trinity Trails White Settlement Trailhead which ideally makes for an ingeniously vigorous walk (if you do happen to be inclined) along the river or a bicycle ride or horses if you can figure out who it is who will rent them. I have definitely seen them up and down this section of the trail near this location and the website says there is also a kayak slip though I failed to locate it on this occasion, the vegetation was up to my knees. What you can absolutely get here in loads regarding the actual facilities is a quiet venue with a quiet Italian meal and a quiet interaction with any of the other restaurant goers in the garden patio or the seven other people staying in container bungalow rooms which are a fairly new and uniquely interesting concept.Additionally, though they’re not built for it I thought the kids might enjoy some biking on the concrete slopes they have just under the bridge and still on the trail. I always wanted to do such things as a kid and was never allowed.Scarring.

Although Hotel Otto was quaint, clean and a comfortable stay, I would never go back. I was invited to a TCU graduation and some of the family was staying here including myself. I wasn't the host but had planned on giving the host a thousand dollars towards my room and to help pitch in for others that were staying here. I brought cash, to give to the host, I am a tipped employee so I always have cash.I hadn't slept the night before and after a nice lunch at Gemelle, I went back to get a nap.I was woken by a knock on my rooms door and it was someone from the Hotel asking for payment. Without thinking I gave her a thousand cash and told her to take this towards it and settle up with the host on checkout. I know that was a bad idea now and but that was how I was intending to pay the host and I had just been woke from a nap. The woman began to leave and then said I will need a license and a credit card as well for security, to which I obliged. It was the following week when I realized I wasn't credited for the cash and we contacted the hotel. It seems in that small 7 room hotel no one could figure out who even collected the cash and cards even tho I had to pick up my cards at the bar register in which had a camera on it. The manager gave me just a bunch of runaround but could figure out a thing. I got burned and I learned my lesson and part of that lesson is to not go back to Hotel Otto!!! The other part is to never pay cash without a receipt!

Overall, my boyfriend and I left satisfied with our stay at Hotel Otto. When we arrived it was raining so we were not given much of a tour, which is understandable. I do wish, however, we were offered umbrellas when they were taking us to our room as we got soaked during that time. Upon arrival to our room, the rug was soaked, and the entire floor was damp with water coming up between each piece of the vinyl flooring. It remained this way the entirety of our stay.We did opt in for the dinner+movie date night package. We made our complimentary Aperol Spritz, which was nice, but we never received our complimentary bottle of champagne, like advertised. Our dinner at Gemelle's was fantastic. All of the food was delicious, and the drinks were spot on. Once we got back to our room, we had a small bowl of popcorn (wish there was more) and 2 small boxes of candy for us to enjoy. The hotel otto staff never contacted us beforehand to have snacks that suit our taste, like advertised. We also got breakfast in bed the following morning since it was a bit cold outside. The breakfast was alright. I found it to be very pricey for what was offerred. It also was not a traditional pancakes and waffles kind of breakfast. It was $70 for breakfast for 2 people. If we come back, we are unlikely to do the movie+dinner package as I feel like what was offered was not worth our money. However, we will be eating at Gemelle's again as it was outstanding!Rooms: The room was sooo cute! Besides our entire room floor being wet the entire time, it was a good time. Will definitely bring slippers next time so I don't have to walk on the wet floor barefoot.Food & drinks: The dinner at Gemelle's was fantastic, as well as the drinks.

Hotel Otto was the cutest vibe. 5-stars from us! I read reviews, and viewed photos prior to arriving so I knew what to expect. The rooms are efficient, they are a container. They are perfectly laid out for maximum usage! Dining area, closet, bar, bathroom, rooftop deck, and bed area. The hospitality we received is unmatched. The moment from check-in our property tour, room amenities, being sure we were comfortable and bringing us anything we needed, as well as organized our changed dinner reservation plans was unmatched! Seriously we have never received such hospitality. We have received awesome hospitality in past resorts but Hotel Otto went an additional step above and beyond! I forgot who checked us in, but she said she had only been there 3 weeks! I was impressed! We also dined at Gremelle the restaurant on property (also where you check in). Everything was so delicious and fresh! The restaurant had an awesome vibe inside or out! I started with a (complimentary cocktail of your choice when you book at the hotel) Season of the Witch; so refreshing and delicious! My husband chose the ROMA, and it must have been good because he had 3! Everything looked and smelled so good so we went overboard with ordering. We started with the Roasted Garlic and Parmesan Breadsticks, and Caesar Salad. Those breadsticks ?? with the tomato sauce, and a pesto dip was mouth watering. So yummy I wanted to eat more than one but knew I would be too full for my entree. The Caesar was homemade which I always appreciate, as well S the croutons. I feel anyplace with bread better have homemade croutons. For my entree I chose the Fettuccini crispy chicken Alfredo. It was really yummy however they did run out of fettuccini but did let me know right after I placed my order and offered another pasta, a little smaller than fettuccini. The chicken was so crispy, juicy and yummy!! My husband ordered the Saturday Special 42oz Bistecca Alla Florentino. Wow! This bad boy was impressive and absolutely beautifully presented. We also ordered a Margherita New York style to go. Y’all…. We ate it nearly 24 hours later from it being in a cooler with ice for a day and it was still yummy! So I can’t event imagine this pizza fresh outta the oven. As we were winding down eating our dinner the chef game by our table and thanked us for how patient we were, it took longer than they would’ve liked, and we were the last ticket of the night and had the longest wait. I thought that was really admirable for a chef to do. The food reflects that she cares what she does. Eating is just eating it should be an experience and it was! After eating all that rich food and realizing me in my 30’s forgot my Tums I asked if they had ice cream. Well…. They didn’t have ice cream but they did have made in house gelato. We grabbed two to go! We got back to our room and packed away all our leftovers, then headed to the deck with gelato in hand. Eating gelato by the fire is really something magical.I cannot even express when we checked in and the dinner reservation coordination. We had done a market all day and live in the Houston area, left Houston around 3:30 and arrived to Hotel Otto a little past 7. Our reservation was for 8 and we knew by the time we checked in, got to our room it was time for dinner and we were both dying for a shower. We got to the room made a complementary Aperol Spritz and the girl helping us called. She said take your time get cleaned up I pushed your reservation back to 8:45. If you are ready before then come have a drink at the bar. I really appreciated that. I was DYING for a shower and thought we were only going to have time for rag baths. It was nice to get cleaned up before going to dinner. I forgot the girls name that checked us in and took care of us but she was absolutely phenomenal! The only critiques I have are: parking is a little difficult during dinner rush. Room: Wish there was a fan to circulate airflow, full length mirror, additional trash can, and the firewood to be chopped in half from how it is to fit in the smokeless pit better.

The place was really nice! I didn't need much, if any service, so 3 stars seemed fair with understanding that I required less attention. The location is, eh. It's kind of centrally located but tucked away by a residential neighborhood that is homely. Easy to drive places from this location, though! Definitely want to go back and get the full experience since this trip was very succinct. Oh, and Tim Love's Gemmell had some tasty items.

Cute concept and friendly staff, but the stay did not meet expectations. Check in seemed disorganized, and the room wasn’t ready. The rug was torn, hair in the shower and on the sink, stains on the bed, and water dripped out of the vent above the toilet in the bathroom. No details on how to check out or where to leave a key, and they did not answer the number provided at check in. The restaurant was closed so no breakfast before we checked out. Also, they charged me for the sodas even though we never took any.

From arrival to departure we had a wonderful time at this very unique hotel/dining combo. Check in was quick and easy thanks to Lily. After check in Lily showed us the entire property with detail and description. Our amazing bartender/waitress at Gemelle, Darby sp? really made the dining experience special and pleasurable. She made wonderful suggestions on drinks and food that we trusted and were glad we did (she knows her stuff). The food at Gemelle was very good and came out quickly and prepared very well. The room was quaint with nice decor and had a spiral staircase that we felt very safe on that led to the roof top of the unit. On the roof top there was a fire pit with chairs and tables that made seeing the full moon and star watching alot of fun. The bed and bedding were very comfortable. All in all this was a great experience with wonderful customer service all the way around. We will definitely be back in the future.

Rooms are way too small and mini split had a leak causing the rug to mildew. Threw rug outside and smell was better. Cool concept but I wouldn't be back.

Great place. Love the uniqueness, restaurant and location. It's more of a B&B than a hotel. No one is around to help you out. Stayed over Labor Day weekend and no one showed up the whole day. That meant no bikes, pool, drinks, etc. Need to pct it up!

DO NOT STAY HERE! A great evening was spoiled by a leaky design to our room and a whole night of drops and leaks from the roof. After alerting the hotel, we are still waiting for a response after 2 weeks.

If you read this please SAVE YOUR MONEY. This hotel has a neat concept and the rooms are pretty but they have so many flaws with customer service that you won't have a pleasant experience. Prepare to be overlooked by staff since they are very short-handed and prepare to ask for things multiple times such as extra towels and never get them. I bought a date night package that came with dinner, a movie and breakfast and let's just say we didn't get almost any of it.The cherry on top was the hotel being completely closed while we were still staying there. How do we check out? How do we ask for things? Where's our breakfast?Legit one of the worst experiences to date. Furthest thing from romantic getaway/date night.Food & drinks: Food was good.
