Fascinating tour - and free. Amazing all of the things that go into printing 'notes' (paper currency). Would recommend to everyone.

This was such an excellent and thorough tour that I'm already planning to go back with family visitors next month. Efficient staff, exceptionally clean facility, and relevant information. I cannot rave enough about the acomodations one student needed due to her hearing aids being controlled by an app. The initial federal officer was unfamiliar with such an issue, but she very quickly and politely went and asked her supervisor on next steps. A plan was made within a blink of an eye and the staff was compassionate. This tour has been on my to-do list for several years and I'm thrilled they finally opened up again post-COVID restrictions.

Informative self guided tour of the processes used to design, engrave, print, inspect, and package millions of notes every day. Sadly, no pictures allowed.

Visiting the US Bureau of Engraving and Printing offered an intriguing glimpse into the production of U.S. currency. The building itself is quite interesting, housing the impressive feat of producing 60% of all U.S. paper currency. The tour begins with a 21-minute video, which, although somewhat dated, provides a good introduction to the currency production process. The shift from person-guided tours to a self-guided format using a wand for audio at each of the nine stops is a notable change. While informative, the audio segments felt a bit lengthy, but they did offer detailed insights into each stage of currency production. The real highlight came after the audio tour, with the exhibits. These were engaging and offered a deeper dive into the intricacies of currency design, security features, and the historical evolution of U.S. banknotes. These exhibits were not only educational but also visually interesting, making the latter part of the visit particularly enjoyable.Overall, the US Bureau of Engraving and Printing is worth a visit for those interested in the behind-the-scenes workings of currency production. While the self-guided tour might require a bit of patience, the wealth of information and fascinating exhibits make it a rewarding experience.

Love love love, this place. LITERALLY... The staff is friendly and the place is very clean!!park your vehicle at visitor center and a friendly shuttle ferries you to the BEP (Mint). Another team of friendly folks, welcome you ,perform security check..felt like a high end airport. You are now at the reception. Mind you no mobile, smart watches leave them in your car. You get to watch a 15min movie detailing everything about self tour. Entire tour is divided to multiple zones, you get to see a very detailed process of dollar making. How is it made, what is it made with, how many teams make, validate our US dollar. We texans should be proud to learn 60pct of Us currency is made here. The experience was honestly really cool and fun. Recommend a lot!! Love this place and will be visiting again!

Decent museum, but given there is a ton of information, you'll need at least the entire day to get through all of it. Fine if you have the time; it's worth the free admission.BIGGEST CON: However, don't EVER decide to go to the bathroom (especially if you need to go #2) at 5:20pm because they abruptly kick you out at 5:27pm even though they "close" at 5:30pm. Sure they make a 5:15pm announcement that the museum is about to close, but that is seriously not enough. They don't explain WHY and that 100% needs to change. They very inconveniently do not give anyone a heads up that all guests at the museum need to be out of the gate (NOT THE DOORS OF THE MUSEUM but the gate that is a golf cart ride away) by 5:30pm sharp. A very simple explanation about this upon entry to the museum would have saved a ton of panic, frustration, and embarrassment on my end. Otherwise, you will literally be left to someone making a very public PSA announcement over the entire museum's intercom with someone yelling out your name to show yourself, at the whim of a potential arrest by security. It's absolutely horrendous that a government run museum would do this and I wouldn't wish it on anyone.

Fun trip for the kids to see how money is made. Leave your cell phone in the car or you get to walk back to your car before entering.

This was a very interesting field trip! They are now open for public tours but I decided to go with our school group. It’s free entry, no electronics allowed inside (including Apple Watch!) and plenty of parking. The gps takes you to the actual gate but you’re supposed to go inside the entrance with the sign that SAYS public tour (or something to that effect). You will be shuttled to the building once you go through security. We learned all about American bills and even got to buy some cool gifts in the gift shop! The prices are not expensive either. Please go check them out, the more you know!

It's a very cool self guided tour. 15 minute movie that highlights the things they do at the facility. They print 60% of the currency for the United States. And the only place to print $2 bills.

I called the Bureau of Engraving and Printing to locate an individual for a baton repair and the tour scheduler "Patricia" went above & beyond to help me locate the individual. Thank you for making my day and providing the best customer service!

Very informative tour. Nice to see all the processes going on inside. It's free ! No cameras, laptops, smart watches or cell phones are allowed inside.Last tour is at 4.30pm. But I recommend not to choose last tour as theatre and gift shop gets closed by the time you finish your tour. Better start keeping little time in hand so that you can check out everything thoroughly. Imo, the whole visit takes roughly less than 1.5hr.
