PetSmart
6060 Long Prairie Rd Ste 200, Flower MoundI first experienced the kind staff when dropping off my 2 year old yorkie for doggie day care. He’s been going for several months and even as a picky pet owner, I’ve been completely satisfied in every way. They greet him by name and know his likes/dislikes. He seems to enjoy going and playing with all his furry friends.Since I was using the pet hotel services I thought I would try the grooming. I’m very particular about my yorkie’s hair. After one appointment with LJ, I was so happy with the way he looked, he’s been going back to her regularly. I like that she takes time to make notes and knows exactly what I like. She’s very kind and seems to truly enjoy her job. Oliver always looks handsome & smells wonderful after leaving his appointment with her.

Pet Grooming
Canine Courtyard Flower Mound
3209 Justin Rd, Flower MoundWe had Jon, the trainer for Canine Courtyard, out for a home visit with our rambunctious 3 year old Super Mutt, Amiri, and it was life changing for our household. I believe Jon trained my daughter and me more than Amiri! We worked on how to control Amiri’s jumping on us and guests upon arriving home and then we worked on “place.” Mr Amiri was stubborn but with Jon’s patience and calm demeanor, Amiri was putting himself on the mat and staying in place before Jon left for the evening. We have continued working with Amiri at home and it’s so nice to have ALL of us be more calm and collected in the evenings! I highly recommend Jon for any training needs you might have, and we love Canine Courtyard for all our day care and boarding needs as well.

Cross Timbers Animal Medical Center
2601 Cross Timbers Rd, Flower MoundTook my cat (who hadn’t gotten her shots in a while) to see Dr. Galat today, he and the technician Mandy were amazing with my fur baby. Giving her treats and letting her hide under a towel while she got her vaccines as she is a very nervous cat around new environments. Some vets usually use the same vaccines for cats as they use for dogs but they let me know they use vaccines specifically for cats which was a big relief for me! I was nervous to go as I’ve never been here before but as soon as I met the doctor and technician I was instantly comfortable with them taking care of my cat. They as well gave me recommendations for any concerns I had! 10/10 would recommend!!

Flower Mound Emergency Pet Clinic
2311 Cross Timbers RdSuite 319, Flower MoundThoroughness and competency. My local vet experienced a heart block with our Westie during her teeth cleaning. I wanted to understand the impact on her health in the future and requested a referral to the cardiology department of FMVESC. My experience with cardiology did not disappoint. I later decided that having the FMVESC dental practice handle the extractions would be wise. The consult appointment with Dr. Johnson, Tech Kaitlin Lilie, and other staff was informative and thorough. I was certain the staff would be the best option. I was right. Our Westie went through seven extractions with flying colors. She recovered quickly and did not suffer the side effects we experienced through her teeth cleanings at another Vet. I want to commend Dr. Johnson and all of the others I met during our visits, but unfortunately, did not think to make note of the names.

VCA Angel Animal Hospital
3041 Long Prairie Rd, Flower MoundI've been going here a couple of years now since a friend recommended them and I don't ever want to change vets. Dr. Palma, especially, has been wonderful with dealing with me being very dramatic and my Jeepers being hyper.I cant thank the vet techs enough for not judging me every time I come in sobbing with concerns over my babies and my wallet. Brendon is so kind and compassionate, he's the kind of guy you trust with your drink and your pet.I cant recommend them enough. Caring for sick/hurt animals is hard, but these guys help make it not suck as much.

Flower Mound Veterinary Emergency & Specialty Center
3905 Long Prairie Rd, Flower MoundI had to go to this vet unexpectedly Sunday night, and they were amazing. My dog has high anxiety especially around people she doesn’t know, and they were compassionate and understanding and worked to make sure she was as comfortable as possible. They ran every test and were very diligent, even sending things to experts for a second opinion at a certain point. I felt like everyone there was looking out for my dog and doing their best to help her. The vet was informative, kind, and kept us up to date on pricing every step of the way. This emergency treatment can be expensive, and they didn’t want anything to be unexpected. We could call at any time for updates, and now my dog is back home and doing much better. Thank you so much to everyone who helped us every step of the way! I appreciate it more than you will ever know!

Pet Sitting & Training
Guiding Light Dog Training Services
4200 Hide-A-Way Ln, Flower MoundSaving AstroWhen we first adopted Astro, we had no idea what we were getting into. He seemed like a big, friendly husky. “He’s food aggressive,” said the lady at the rescue society where we picked him up. No problem, I thought. Over the last twenty years we’ve had many huskies, usually have at least 4 or 5 at a time, and I’ve dealt with dogs growling over their food bowl before and gotten through it. Astro, however, was much worse than that. He didn’t just have food aggression, he also had severe fear issues and clearly had been beaten or backed into a corner before. By the time we got to Victoria we had been through one trainer and Astro had bitten me three times, the last time pretty severely. I was lucky he hadn’t sent me to the hospital. For the first time in our life, my husband and I seriously considered euthanasia as an option. We couldn’t give him back to any adoption center or rescue knowing the danger he posed. We couldn’t let him put our other dogs at risk, not to mention the neighborhood kids. We had already put him on doggie Prozac, and he was still biting. Our vet suggested an animal behaviorist, as opposed to just a trainer. My husband found Victoria on a Google search and we asked her to come over right away. She started with evaluating all our dogs interacting together at my house, and spent well over an hour with me talking through the different incidents with Astro and when they happened, and what had happened before and after each incident. We had initially thought maybe we would send Astro to board with her and train for several weeks, but after the home visit she recommended that he stay here while we trained. Astro had so much fear and uncertainty in his behavior, he didn’t really need to be put in yet another new environment.Without going into every single detail, what I can tell you is that Astro today is a completely different dog than the one that would crouch at the back of his crate showing me all his teeth. He’s happy and gaining confidence every day. He used to shy away from our other dogs (including him we have 5 huskies), but now he plays with them. I went from being afraid to place a food bowl in front of him, to where now, when I place down the bowl, he’s wagging his tail and half the time I get a “thank you” slurp on the face as I put it down in front of him.Yes, it took months, and we had to get here in stages, but he’s part of the family now and a completely different dog. We carefully followed Victoria’s weekly instructions, to the letter. That means about 5 or 10 minutes EVERY day, 2 to 3 times a day, going through the exercises she showed us. It works, and it worked wonders for us. She pinpointed the very specific triggers and problems with Astro, and we worked in steps to train him to think and react differently and unlearn those bad behaviors. Victoria is not a “sit and stay” trainer. She looks at your dog’s individual and specific problems, and then tailors a program unique to your situation. We highly recommend her.

Urbano Enchilada Taco Bar
1121 Flower Mound Rd #570, Flower MoundWent and sat at the bar for a date with my husband. Enjoyed an appetizer and some drinks! The service was great for the most part. I was a bit confused when I received my bill. We ordered the David’s Queso which came WITH corn and brisket for 11.99, but my bill had an “open food” item charge for 2.50. Bartender (she) told us it was for the brisket. If this is the case, it needs to be advertised as an additional charge on the menu, not a total price.Other than that, we ordered food to take home for our kiddos. It was subpar, but they’re not picky!

Fiori
1221 Flower Mound Rd Suite 100, Flower MoundThis was the first time we tried this restaurant and were very pleasantly surprised! We started with the garlic cheese bread, which was really tasty. I then had the chicken piccata, which was probably the best I've ever had. My husband had the spaghetti with meatballs. He was a little leery at first because the meatballs were made with brisket, but they let him try one first and said they were really good. Service was terrific. Spencer was very personable and went out of his way to make sure that everything was perfect for us. Thanks for the great meal!
