Family have been using this firm for years because of trust setup involving multiple states from previous generation. They increase their fees every chance they get and when they make mistakes, and they do EVERY year on taxes, they charge US for the privilege to fix their mistakes. They misinterpret an IRS form instruction? guess what, WE get to explain it to them then get charged extra for the time used. Trying to move away from them is difficult as well.

KHA has been doing my accounting for 3 decades and I hold degrees in accounting & finance dating back to the 80s. I see people usually complain about costs and timely responses on these review sites....All I've got to say is you get what you pay for and good workers are usually busy and will get back to you. KHA has gone above and beyond over the decades for my businesses and my family.

My husband & I have had our taxes done here the last 3 years. They helped us through a tax situation my husband had from before we got married which relieved a lot of stress. Our taxes are slightly complicated so we prefer to have them done by an expert. I do feel like they are slightly overpriced for what they have done for us but I haven't taken the time to price compare. I agree with other reviews that the hours seem limited. We have always had our taxes done on the weekend or a Friday. After the first year we were told Cindy doesn't work Fridays or weekends anymore even during tax season which is when we go. We were forced to switch to Mitsy. Most likely I will be looking around for alternatives this year or at least to compare prices

Well after reading all the negative reviews it pains me to see Ken go out on a negative. I've known him for many years and even though his ego and I had to part ways, I still recommended him as a CPA because of his skills and experience. But the last three people I have referred came back to me very upset. The constant complaints were; arrogance, refusal to communicate in a timely manner or communicate at all, and made to feel like an intrusion, as if their business was not important enough. From now on I will only recommend Ken for mergers and needs on a corporate level. It's clear that he has taken a different path. God Bless

I would have given them a good review however based on the way they treated us when they made the decision to change their business model without informing us, I can only giving them a very poor rating. They made a strategic decision to no longer support individuals and small business. We didn't find out until we sent them an email in January asking them why we hadn't received our tax packet. Rather than emailing us back or calling us, they sent us a form letter advising us they no longer do this and referred us to a new firm. If the firm you count on to protect your interests for years cannot take the time to make a simple phone call and work with you to transition this big of a change, then it is not a firm you need to work with. We are both business professionals. We travel most of the week or are in business meetings. We typically don't have a lot of extra time to go out and secure new accounting firms especially at the last minute. It is sad that this firm didn't care enough about their clients to understand that and to help their clients through this transition. My recommendation is find someone who really cares about you because this group does not.

I would recommend KHA Accountants, PLLC for those looking for quality service. Their service is very professional and courteous as they understand your core business & personal ins/outs. Cynthia Grieco and her staff have been very responsive to our needs & inquiries. I have always been satisfied by their very timely responses for the past three years and they don't leave loose ends. KHA is very knowledgeable and ethical. We feel we are in good hands. They pull evenings and weekend shifts in the thick of tax season. I am very much thankful to the entire team.

They've become arrogant and overpriced for the service. They only work 4 days a week at best. Have used KHA for 5 yrs and in the beginning the service was fine. Then they stopped returning calls or returned calls weeks later. Very unorganized which is not a good thing for an accountant. Then they started charging for answering questions via email. Email mind you. Move on. There are many out there that don't nickel and dime you and work for their fees.

Called this company to talk through my parents trust, no on answered so went by there. Girl at front desk nice but unaware of what to do. Proceeded to email someone (CPA) said she would get back to me to see if I could get an appointment, this was at 2;00 yesterday, never heard a word called back at 9:30 this morning to be told that "Ross" was not answering. Needless to say I was a little irritated, I just wanted a yes or no if they could see me. Ross proceeded to call me back, asked a lot of questions...requested certain information that he needed. Happy to get, went back to office at around 2:30 today with the will and trust in hand of my now deceased parents...and still very raw a few short months since my mother went to the angels. Ross asked if I could step into the office, which at that point I was told "we are not a fit for you: we look for long term relationships with our clients...and this is not!!! Really, I have wasted 2 days, to be told this...and Oh by the ways was told multiple times that he was the only one working as everyone else was on vacation and that is why he didn't call me back??? This is the way you run a professional business, I surprise they have any business at all. On a side note my parents had done business there before, I guess, now I or my deceased parents are no longer worthy of there business. What a shame I live in Flower Mound and wanted to do business in my community. but that was not possible here. I hope people think twice before doing business with KHA.

Year 1 with KHA was uneventful and I paid a reasonable rate for my return, somewhere around $1100. In year 2, Ross Powell failed to file my franchise tax return after having it sent to him by me personally. My corporate charter was suspended, effectively leaving me without corporate protection for a period of time, probably 3+ months. And then he failed to file my tax return for 2014 leaving me with what is now a $9000 penalty for the year. My wife and I went in to meet with him recently to discuss all of this, along with the $8600 bill for filing 14&15. In this meeting I asked who was going to pay the $9k penalty, as we demonstrated that he had simply failed to perform and he is the professional. He explained that he was not responsible because had we paid our estimated tax then there would be no penalty. Well guess what? We did pay our estimated tax that was the amount he had recommended, only problem was that we made a bit more money and therefore the estimated was short. In our meeting with Ross I asked about the bill which was a 400% increase over the first year. Part of it was that he had enlisted the support of a partner at $400+ an hour to help advise us correctly. I am paying him $150 an hour and never asked or authorized such a charge. In fairness our situation has some complexities but one should assume that the person being paid $150 an hour would know what the heck he is doing. I ALSO received completely false advice from Ross when transitioning to a sub s corp from a c corp. At the end of this meeting Ross asked how I would like to handle the $4500 balance for the 14 & 15 filing. I replied that I had already paid more than what was fair for what had happened, ($4100 or thereabouts), to which he replied, this relationship is simply not going to work. (no kidding Ross) I have been self employed for 20+ years and have had great relationships with my prior CPA's and always felt a sense of protection, like they were looking out for the bits and pieces that will trip you up in business. I have never felt more screwed in a professional environment in my life. This may be an anomalous situation, but it sure was a series of them. Keep in mind that Ross has his side to this story as well and from what I can tell he insists that we did not provide him everything he needed in a timely manner. Although he did have unfettered access to our online books, and we do have an email chain which suggests otherwise. Maybe I am missing something though and just want to be completely fair and objective. in the final analysis I am sure you could pay them $400 per hr and get great advice and direction from a partner there. But what I experienced was absolutely terrible.

Called this company looking to set up an appointment and speak with a CPA, the receptionist must be in training for meditation,...ohm, ohm, ohm, ohm, ohm... didn't answer any of the specific questions that I asked then out of the blue after 6-10 ohm's said Misty. I hope this business has plenty of customers because with service like that, I'm out.

Received a call from a partner of the firm (I think) apologizing for John not getting back to me. He said John had just gotten overwhelmed. He offered to take on our account personally and see that everything we needed would be addressed. He actually called me after reading the original review, so I think he was sincere and generally wanted to do the right thing. I think this was a case of John Baer dropping the ball and not KHA, so I update my rating to 3 stars.

After working with our previous CPA for 20 years, he sadly passed away and we were forced to find a new CPA last year. Ken has personally completed out personal and business taxes for the last 2 years and his process is smooth and fast and he has given us good direction with some of the questions we had. I have heard similar feedback from friends who use other Accountants in his office as well. I'd highly recommend KHA for all your accounting and tax needs.

A few years ago I swore off CPAs, feeling that I had pretty well been getting ripped off since the only advice I was getting was what I was learning for myself on Yahoo! and my CPA was basically just filling out a form that just looked like Turbo Tax on 'roids ... Circumstances have changed and I have since been forced into looking for another CPA. I called and set up an appointment with Cynthia Griego, and my wife and I sat down and ran through our taxes with her. There is a night and day difference between my previous CPA and Cynthia, she not only knows and understands the tax laws and how they affect me, but took the time to explain it to me. We will be returning.
