WOW! Huge fish! Bass, Catfish, Crappie, etc.,
My husband caught some great Bass off the dock. I just caught "Carpal Tunnel" from casting so much. I had a blast watching him, hoping for mine and enjoying the nature. BTW.. we play Fish Poker and I lost but still smiling ;)
This entire place "Big John's Lodge and Bait" next door is beyond our hopeful dreams of taking a much needed break! We are going again ASAP! Thank you!

The park is nice, just a little small. The cabins are pretty expensive, comparatively, but it's good for they day.

A camping experience with everything included. Water, power, restrooms, and showers with hot water for the cold weather. I loved the camping rules as there were no generators after 10 pm. Amazing experience!
Toilets: Clean restrooms.
Dog-friendliness: I had my dog with me.
Picnic area: With fireplace and table.

Honestly, I didn't like it, there is a lake and you can't fish, if you go by boat, that's fine, but the shore doesn't work, don't waste your time, really, I won't be back.

We absolutely love this little lake for boating and waterskiing. Convenient day trip from Houston. This state park is a lovely location for water sports, fishing and picnic and is hardly ever crowded. The boat ramp is wide, perfectly sloped and easy access to launch a boat of all sizes. The lake is warm from the power plant and plenty deep for all types of activities. There are bathrooms available, and limited picnic tables. There is only a small amount of beach-type access at the park entrance but more access from the Oak Thicket side.

Haven't been here is years, but I remember the best fishing ever happening on this lake! Huge bass from warm water. I'll be back in the next few weeks, I think.

When I go to Lake Fayette this is my preferred park and boat ramp. Oak thicket is often times full, due to a lot of tournaments running out of that park. They have added nice little cabins and RV spots that haven’t gotten much use. The park staff are friendly and the restroom are usually clean.

Nice place for those who like fishing and spending time with the family. The only drawback is that snakes come out and visitors leave garbage everywhere.
Toilets: Cleaning required, very dirty.
