This place is great. I always find something good in here. The staff is always friendly here and the pricing is so much better than other local places. Mu only complaint is i wish they did bottle drops here. How about an annual bourbon drop here for people that live on this side of town?

I’ve purchased from this particular Spec’s many times since they opened, but tonight I was given a hard time by the cashier. I’m 31, but look younger and I could tell she was going to inspect my ID top to bottom from the moment I walked up, just by the way she looked at me suspiciously. I put my two bottles of wine on the counter and instead of scanning them like every other time I’ve come in, she just stared at me without moving until I managed to get my license out of my wallet. They offer a military discount so I also got my retired ID out and presented both of them to the cashier. She inspected my license front and back like she knew it was a fake (seriously who is going to make a fake ID saying they’ve over 30). After holding up the license and looking back and forth at my face and my picture (in which I’m 50 pounds lighter and in full makeup) she tells me my license is expired so she can’t sell to me. There is no law in Texas that says you can’t sell alcohol to someone over 21 simply because their license is expired. I then picked up my military ID, a legal, government issued ID, and showed her where it had my birthdate, also matching my license showing I was 31 years old. She still refused to accept it. I kept pushing the issue and she finally said she would call someone to check. A girl came out, looked at both IDs and apprehensively said it should be okay but that I needed to get my ID renewed, as if I’m not aware. Even if there was a law about IDs needing to be current to sell alcohol, I had a second valid form of government-issued ID ready and presented at the start. The entire thing was completely unnecessary.

DONT DOORDASH FROM SPECS!!! If they don't have what you ordered they will completely lie to you and tell you they canceled it. I had to contact DD just to get a refund after going down there and talking to the manager. She is a liar.
