I enjoyed visiting ennis and the railroad museum, it is something definitely for kids and groups of friends to travel to, unless you are a bookworm for history like myself. Definitely affordable.

Nice little place. No actual trains on display. Only $3 entry fee. Knowledgeable staff.

About Ennis Railroad & Cultural Heritage Museum
The City of Ennis was established as a town in 1872 and was named after Cornelius Ennis, Director of the Houston & Texas Central (H&TC) Railroad. Watch a brief video of the history of Ennis, enjoy the railroad memorabilia, the dioramas, the depot replicas, china exhibit from the old rail lines, Czech dolls from the old country & more. The Ennis Railroad and Cultural Heritage Museum is located on the east side of the railroad tracks in downtown Ennis. There is a wheelchair accessible entrance on the railroad side of the museum. Call the museum for assistance getting in this entrance.
