This is a nice park to camp but it is very full of litter. If people were more respectful and didn't leave their trash all around, it would be beautiful. I spent a good hour picking up litter and barely made a dent. We enjoyed watching all the waterfowl and the people fishing. The roads are rough, so you have to go slow. If it wasn't for the litter and rough roads, I'd give it 5 stars.

I've had no issues with this place. The staff is friendly. Been going here for years. I have no boat and no kayak. I've caught 15 reds and about 10 reds undersized in 3 months from the bank. Every fisherman knows when you go fishing sometimes it isn't always gonna smell like peaches and roses. The environment is friendly. No drunks and no fights. Just fishermen trying to have a good time and catch some fish.

People in the store/ office are so rude to paid visitors. The big Caucasian lady in the window was so mean and speaks awfull to visitors especially Hispanic race. Wow try the calaveras side entrance maybe have better experience at that one. Such a disappointment shame on you miss

Expensive and not well maintained. Gate shack lady really rude and disrespectful, even with a disabled veteran. Personal watercraft, kayak, canoe is a nasty and unsafe mud pit. Facilities are often ok. Will never use again and do not recommend.

This park is a fisherman's paradise with decent spots to cast a line and enjoy the day. This is not a park to swim at and the fee to occupy the park is not so cheap. Restrooms are available but take toiletries. There are options for RV sites but must make accommodations in advance. Go slow, the roads need improvement. The only downside is gate closes promptly at 8pm and no walking in even if you paid.

Sad place, I'm sorry to say. We were excited to have a lake nearby! [Note: the staff person was very friendly and helpful!]The entrance fee is incredibly expensive. For what? We neither swam (not allowed anyways) nor went boating. We parked, walked a trail with our dog, and sat in our own camping chairs next to an old, metal picnic table. For a family of 6 (Dad, Mom, and 4 kids, plus dog) it was $50(!)There is absolutely nothing outstanding about the environs and the "view" is unremarkable: the lake, the highway, and the dystopian looking power plant facility looking in the background--oy.Bathrooms--dirty. Picnic tables--old and spotted with bird droppings. "Nature trail"--a cringy, cactus-lined dirt path that meandered near an old, creepy, decrepit building that was literally falling down. Aesthetic, this place is not.I saw lots of boats. Maybe that is the appeal here but for a simple "day at the park" (in our case, just over 2 hours), $50 is ridiculous. Save your money.Playground: Old and dirty.Restrooms: Serviceable but dirty.Dog-friendliness: Hey, our dog loved it!Picnic area: "Ok". Bring your own camping chairs.

Definitely more geared toward fishing. There was a nature trail that wasn't much of anything. Lots of benches to sit at by the lake. Cost us as a family $50 to enter. Definitely not worth it.Playground: Very run downRestrooms: Not cleanPicnic area: Lots of picnic tables scattered along the lake
