Dr. Freund is the best in El Paso!
I’ve taken both of my cats for multiple years and this is the first time I write a review, but not only are his services affordable but he genuinely cares about all the animals he comes across.
He’s always helped both of my cats and his diagnosis are 100% correct.

Dr.Freund is compassionate yet not pressuring to try expensive treatments for pets. He is not after money. He has gotten on the floor to be with a blind dog rather than put the dog on the table in a precarious position. He has put pets first, but is also wise. A few times the urinalysis didn’t catch that my cat had a problem but eventually he cured it.

This clinic may be good at routine vaccines and check up but staff was very disorganized, rude and inconsiderate when it came to euthanizing my precious dog. “Your gonna have to wait , there is a wait for euthanizing the dog “ was the first thing that came out of her mouth. After having called prior confirming the priority. The front desk lady has no manners, considering I was putting my dog down you would think the bill portion was the last thing you wanted to handle, she knew I came in for that in the first place and should have organized that prior to the service particularly euthanizing. After being called back 1.5 hrs, the vet nurse then proceeded to give the tranquilizer and later stated she would be back for the euthanasia, by then my dog was in a deep sleep and snoring already having difficulty breathing, then came with the euthanasia minutes later and made my dog further have difficulty breathing, making the process even harder. She then proceeded to say “ he’s fighting it ,” I may need to give him more “, then she asked for help with her assistance stating she “blew the vein”. I then said “ what happened? did u give him the wrong dose ?” She then said “no his vein blew and when they are in this state their veins are fragile.” I then thought, Well no shit, if u knew that then you should have prepared yourself securing a better vein or asking the assistant in the beginning . Euthanizing should be instant, not add to the anxiety the dog may be having already being put down. Doesn’t take a genius to know that. I then became consumed in the way he was breathing, and proceeded to get emotional. Through the help of her assistant she gave him more and took his last cheyne stroke breath. She then voiced “take your time, don’t worry about paying for anything right now you can pay when you pick up the ashes and paw print” , so I did take my time. Later being interrupted by her 3 minutes later asking “everything ok”? I then got the impression they needed the room for full waiting room area. I just felt the euthanasia should be priority and respected. As I proceeded out the lady in the front I think named Monica proceeded to tell and yell at me I needed to pay. There were about 15 people in the waiting room at this point . I felt embarrassed at that point. I told her what the other person told me and she said “idk why she keeps telling people that, she shouldn’t tell people that”. At that point I was at a loss for words, I kept thinking of how I felt my dog suffered even then putting him down with all the mess of incompetence. As I waited for my receipt , phone rang, then heard her say “ I can squeeze you in!” I felt that was the initial problem! Inconsideration and incompetency. Little did they know I am a RN, I know that might not matter here but medically some things are similar. I know we can’t compare pets to humans but regardless no death should be that way, I would never not make sure the medication to ease the anxiety of passing was not attended correctly. I would never act like the medication was in, prolonging difficulty breathing . I am disappointed of how the last minutes of my precious 18 year old dog passed, after a youthful well taken care of dog all these years , I felt I failed at letting him pass at ease coming to this clinic.

Very attentive. I loved how everyone, including Dr. Freund, sat on the floor to play with Toby while he was being diagnosed. You can tell everyone loves what they do. Wouldn’t take any pet anywhere else. Thank you for the wonderful service!

Excellent! Went here with our Bearded Dragons (yes, they see reptiles) it's very difficult to find a vet in Las Cruces or El Paso that does. Staff was friendly and quick to get us in a room. Dr was friendly, thorough, gentle, straight forward and informative. Very satisfied with our visit. ??

The staff really cares and tries their best to give my pets a good life with high quality. They are also honest and frank, not trying to talk you into treatments that won't work long term just to make an easy buck. I respect the vet team here and would highly recommend them to anyone who loves their pets.

The doctor was very brief after surgery and Monica the staff member is extremely rude. Never again. Two stars rather than ONE because their cat was very sweet and welcoming.
