If I had to do a review on the process, helpfulness and professionalism of the employees alone, I would give CarMax a 5 star rating, however I purchased a vehicle and 3 short days later, the vehicle had a transmission failure and had to be towed back to the facility. I do not feel that the vehicle’s they sale are inspected very well prior to sale, buyer beware!

This is my 5th purchase from Carmax but the first from the El Paso store. It’s been 3 months since my purchase and Carmax has yet to provide a clear title for me to get this Truck registered in to my name. They’ve been rude, specifically “Erika” who stated it’s now my problem since we took ownership/drove it off the lot. Now the business office, who promised I’d have the necessary paperwork isn’t responding. They don’t care about what they do, do not care about our military/veterans and have poor business practices. AVOID at all costs.

The visit was great, however the vehicle I drove off in was missing bolts on a break caliper, needs a CV joint replaced and the air conditioner has stopped working on 105 degree heat. Kind of disappointed as I had a great experience when I purchased a vehicle from Carmax in Albuquerque a few years back and was blown away with the experience there, as well as the safety point inspection and needed work was completed BEFORE I drove the car off the lot. However, I am hoping that the limited 90 day warranty and 5 year extended warranty that i purchased will cover what needs to be done. If not I will let you know

I didn’t authorize your company to share my information with any creditor. Your prequalified credit check was supposed to be just that no credit pull. I’m reporting you to the AG. Deceptive practices will get you nowhere.

Everyone that I dealt with was friendly and professional. They paperwork was not difficult to do. They were very patient with me even though I was not very patient. So far my experience has been very good. I would recommend them if you find a vehicle they have for sale. ?

This was the fourth car I have purchased and the 1st from El Paso. The initial process was great, but after that it went horrible. Car was not cleaned, found several left over items, some mechanical issues and even a cracked windshield. I tried for over a week to call the service department but was told they were understaffed. This is has been a horrible experience and I would never recommend the El Paso CarMax to anyone.

I have been a loyal carmax customer for several years having prurchased 5 vehicles.
This last purchase had too many hiccups.
I got a generous offer for my trade-in, and found a vehicle at Carmax that I was interested in. I set up an appt. to test drive the vehicle. Then the phones and emails started coming. I thought I was working with an associate at the dealer. We went over paperwork and I was told that this could be an "Express" pick up, meaning that if I liked the vehicle, I would be out of the dealership in 30 minutes.
I arrived on the day of the test drive only to learn that the vehicle was NOT ready. Worse, the sales associate seemed more interested in taking possession of my trade-in. I kept asking about the test drive, keep in mind that I had not even seen the vehicle in person. After about 30 minutes, I was told the vehicle was ready to test-drive. I got in and took it for a ride, noticing the fuel tank was almost empty! It seemed like the vehicle was hurriedly washed.
I returned to the showroom and told the associate about the fuel, and then the nightmare started- I was told that there was an issue with the paperwork, and I had to re-do the sales contract.
The "Express" pickup didnt happen.
Also, the associate I worked with over the phone was not even working at this location, but at some Carmax office somewhere.
Come on Carmax, I know from experience that you can do better.

I have been two times in El Paso store and it is a complete joke. They give you an appointment and always have to wait like 2 hours to be attended. My question is an appointment for what????

I won’t lie, I thought things were iffy at first but then I met Eddie. From there he made things easy and understandable. My wife is very happy with her car.
