I am a frequent traveler (weekly). My company has is an exclusive patron of Avis on a national basis. In my opinion, the El Paso, Texas Avis location is one of the best in the country (for any rental car company). Very professional. No hassle pick-up and drop off! Absolute worst Avis I’ve ever rented from. I’ve never once been asked from a major US rental brand to bring a car back washed. We drove through a construction area about 5 miles from the airport and got mud on the side of the car. We were charged a $450 (!!!!) fee for “excessive exterior dirt.” I can’t imagine ANY car wash or detail in El Paso charging even half of this. This is highway robbery and I will be working with corporate on this charge. Either way, don’t rent from this location. It’s ridiculous to try and rake members over the coals this way (I have rented over 10 cars from Avis this year, for both personal and business). This isn’t how you keep any customer ever.

The rental car had a broken driver side mirror. When I notified the AVIS agent, he said it has been that way for months and would note it on the rental agreement. It was tacky to drive around with a broken mirror. The rental agreement from the previous driver was still in the vehicle, so it clearly had not been clean thoroughly. The agent at the desk was not friendly. It overall was disappointing to drive an unclean vehicle with a broken driver side mirror.

Do not accept a Dodge Dirango SUV when renting a Yukon/Tahoe or equivalent. Uncomfortable rear seats and 1 (ONE) USB charging port in the entire vehicle located in the front dash for all to share. "Cup holders" in rear seating only hold very small water bottles. Maybe ok for 1 or 2 passengers but not 3 to 7.

Received vehicle that was due for oil change.If you accidentally leave items in a vehicle, you have to jump through hoops to get back, because workers are too lazy to check lost and found and blame it on you. They can easily go look and see, but they refuse.Edit: trying to get a hold of a human being is also hard to do with their phone system that sends you to voicemail after minutes of hold music.

The charges are really confusing. In prepaid my rental and the gas for this car. I returned the car 45 minutes later of the time expected and i was charged more than the original rental period. I think it is excessive and abusive. I will make a formal complaint to the a Texas attorney general for abusive and deceptive business practices.Also when i got to the garage to pickup the rental the same vehicle was assigned to another client. We both were waiting for an answer. Thanks to the lady checking the exit we could resolve the problem.
