My husband and I have stayed at The Alexander 5 times now, so I figured I could provide a pretty thorough review that might help other vacationing couples. We have stayed in 5 different rooms, and each stay was extremely satisfying and relaxing.
Chronologically, we stayed in The Charlie, The Country House, The Live Oak Cottage, The Bluebonnet, and The Jack. Our first stay was in the Charlie, a really cute room in "The Treehouse", and to date, this is our favorite room. It's a small, cozy room, with a large picture window and a really cute electric fireplace (in fact, all of their rentals that we stayed in had one). The Treehouse hosts several rooms, and all of them share a beautiful treehouse-style patio. It's festively lighted and has a couple of very comfortable patio sofas. It probably has a fire-pit, but honestly I just sat and enjoyed the cicadas and other night sounds of the country with my husband. It was very romantic. All of the treehouse rentals have access to this patio, but I have never found it to be loud or crowded.
Our second stay was at the Country House. We did not book this originally; the owner called and offered it as an upgrade. It is an adorable house- I wouldn't call it small, but it is very cozy. Cozy is a common theme throughout their rentals. It had several rooms, but our friends ended up not being able to make it, so we had the house to ourselves. There were books in the living room available to read, the ever-present electric fireplace (one of my favorite details), a full kitchen, the living room had plenty of comfortable seating, and the dining area provided even more- so if you had a large group, this would be the perfect rental for you. Not only was the house spacious, but there was additional entertainment area in the backyard. Did I mention this house has an adorable white picket fence? It's so cute! But in the backyard, there is a great covered patio, complete with a grill if you're into barbecuing.
After this, we stayed in the Live Oak Cottage. Minifridge, microwave, perfectly clean bathroom with wonderful hot water and water-pressure and most importantly, a comfy bed with soft bedding. Then there was the Bluebonnet Camper. So many cute details relating to bluebonnets, and I loved all of the tiny-house details that make a camper livable. It was a little chilly outside, but the camper stayed warm.
Our most recent stay was in the Jack room of The Treehouse. This was a ground-level room, but in addition to access to the Treehouse patio, it also had a little side-yard with seating and a gas firepit. It was a cute room, cozy and with all the amenities we needed. The bed and bedding were super comfortable. There is a room above it, and if there is an amorous couple of night owls in that upper room, you may notice some loud squeaking of their bed and your ceiling. If you are a light sleeper, just bring some earplugs. While we were there, a pretty huge storm hit, which is common in Texas once the heat hits. The room did really well, with no scary shaking or leaking. We just laid there and enjoyed the loud thunder and the sounds of rain hitting the roof and dripping off of the tree's leaves. It did keep us up though, so I texted the owner asking if we could have a late check-out and they were extremely accommodating.
I love staying in fancy hotels with room-service and other fancy amenities, but none of them come close to the almost-home comfort that each stay at The Alexander has provided us. Also, the location may seem very rural, but it is within close driving distance to downtown Dripping Springs which has a really great cocktail lounge and several tasty restaurants. It's also only a small drive to any number of distilleries and wineries if that appeals to you.
Rooms: Each room has it's own style, but all of them share a very rustic, Texas feel. The electric fireplace doesn't have to have the heat on, so it can just provide pretty ambience on thos

The Live Oak cottage was absolutely amazing to celebrate our 5 year anniversary! Had all the amenities we needed and felt like home. The owners took time to make customers feel welcomed. Had cell service and didn’t need the wifi. Far enough off the beaten path but still close to so much. Can’t wait to come back!

We loved being in a camper instead of a hotel room. Even though we were gone most of the day, we enjoyed being able to sit outside and hear nature and see the stars. We even saw deer on the morning we left. The only complaint we had was the smell of the toilet but we didn’t call about it. Thank you for no television and a relaxing stay!

Our place was nice & cozy . We stayed in the Lucky cottage . Its Very peaceful. The staff was very attentive on anything we needed. The only suggestion i can think of that would have made our stay any better, is having some out door games/activities like corn hole , volleyball, horse shoes. We took a walk around the place & enjoyed that very much. Perfect get away to feel like your out but yet close enough to town for convenience

We paid for 2 nights and left after one. Our feet were hanging over the bed
Our 15 year old grandson could not stretch out in the bunk bed. It was clean but too small for us.

My husband and I are hermits, so when we want to go somewhere we want to stay somewhere special instead of the usual hotels. This is probably the most special place we've stayed so far. We stayed in one of the Live Oak Lodge, one of the cottages. It was beautiful and comfortable. It rained a lot of the time we were there and it honestly sounded really nice on the roof. It made everything very cozy. The roads were also easy to drive in our little sedan which was a concern for me at first.
The town is also very sweet. Because of the rain we didn't end up hiking at all but honestly just driving around was nice. There's a lot of really good food to find in the surrounding areas and Mercer Street was very cute.
Back to the cottage, we had one brief issue with the internet and when I emailed the owner it was fixed within 2 minutes. So the service was AMAZING. We will absolutely stay again, preferably during the spring/summer so we can swim at Hamilton Pool or some of the other variety of places.

They picked the smallest TV on the market. The internet is not set up for streaming so you can't watch it. Only thing to listen too is the construction next door. Not very convenient to anything at all. Not worth the price or the unexplained extra charge

Matt and Michelle are superior hosts. Their ranch is lovely, cozy and welcoming. It was such a fantastic experience to have our family gathering at "The Alexander at Creek Road." Thank you.

My spouse and I were extremely happy with the Mack, the treehouse cabin we rented for two nights here. Everything was clean, well-organized, simple, tasteful, and well-thought-out to provide us with a really peaceful stay. The ambiance is perfect for a quiet getaway.
