“We are first time winter Texans. We are from Hawai'i. A friend at our resort told us about Vera's King of Meats at E. University. We have been coming here since November '23 and the quality, variety and price of meats can't be beat. The customer service is wonderful! We have been telling others in our resort about Vera's. We are freezing some steaks to take north. We'll see you in October!”

Also ordered loaded ribs they cut them fresh and seasoned for me too,,,I ordered sweetbread they gave me enough to feed 6 people!!! Let me tell you about service,,,,,excellent and beyond quality. “We used to eat here when I was a kid back in the 90's. I remember the fajitas being so tender and flavorful. Came back as an adult and ordered fajitas from the butcher shop. Anywhere else I order regular fajita and marinate them at home. Usually have to let the marinade sit a few hours to get the flavor and tenderness. I have no idea what they put in that magic little spray bottle and spice mix, but you get home and cook it right away and it is perfectly juicy and delicious when you grill it!”
“Driving thru Elsa, after a Dr's appointment, and hungry, saw brisket place, actually made a u-turn, well, it was worth the turn, the brisket was super delicious and yummy, so tender, the buns soft, onions, pickles ? the right amount of barbarque sauce....l am not from the area, but well worth the stop ?”

“My go-to shop for taco meat. They have it raw/prepared for you to buy by the pound, or a small hot section where you can order taco plates. They also sell combination packet such are different varieties of bulk meat, including meat to take come and cook yourself. There is a refrigerated section for drinks and a small "market" of food. When there was a COVID quarantine huge shortage of eggs at all the local grocery stores, I was able to buy eggs from the shop!”

“Today I went to Junior's Fresh Market to find something for lunch. They sell tacos and plates of various guisos. Of course, there is the supermarket and a café (which sells pizza), but today's review is limited to my experience with the tacos.I chose tacos of carne guisada. I was offered a choice of flour or corn tortillas. I prefer corn, but the tortillas are smaller than the flour ones. So I ordered three tacos. It turns out, since the corn tortillas are smaller (and the same price as flour) they compensate by using two corn tortillas side by side as one taco. I wish I had known that, because two would have been more than enough.They wrap the tacos individually in foil, and offer the salsa of your choice added in small plastic lidded cups.As they assemble the tacos, they drain the broth from the guiso. I'm guessing the broth is where most of the flavor is, as the meat, while very tender, did not have much flavor. Thank God for the salsa which made up for that.I enjoyed the tacos, but three was too much for me.I also had some delicious fresh squeeze limeade (limonada).Next time I will probably get the plate, because the tortillas got soggy fast as tacos.Overall I enjoyed it and think you will too. Their prices are reasonable, and the service was friendly.”

“This place used to be my go to for some beer and meat every Sunday during football season. They have a good selection of meat and they even have a restaurant inside that serves breakfast daily. If you're in the area I recommend stopping here at least once and experience it yourself.”
“A supermarket chain dedicated to Latin products, very good variety. You can find fruits, vegetables, bakery, butcher shop, taqueria and hot food prepared and ready to eat there or to take away. Good seasoning and very reasonable prices. Ample parking, very friendly staff at this branch. Located very close to the center of Pharr. Try the cecina, carnitas, chicharrones and some tamales and forget your diet. You will even find piñatas and sugar skulls. Also inside there is a national and international money transfer service...”

“Went around and most places selling Fajita at 10.49-11.49 a pound... And here At Rubens it was 7.49 a pound. Well worth the trip around. Since it isn't far from my house I'll be coming here from now on.”
