I went there for an oil change. They have “bundled” other services with the oil change, including tire rotation. I told them several times that I did not need the tire rotation or any other service. They said the cost was the same even if they did not do the other services. Since I was already there I told them to continue, but do ONLY the oil change. Without looking at any part of the cooling system, the service representative also told me I needed a “cooling system flush”. I declined that also. Two hours later I was told that the car was ready, and the service representative told me that they had NOT rotated the tires. He also told me that I had a cooling fluid leak that they could fix for $115. I looked at the area he said was leaking and saw no evidence of a leak. It allegedly was a small hose with two clamps that I could replace in a couple of minutes, so I declined that also. On the invoice for the oil change and in a later text from the service representative it was noted that I need a cooling system flush and a brake fluid flush. Both procedures are completely unnecessary unless there is a problem in those systems. In my opinion Gay Family Auto was desperately trying to trick me into authorizing those unnecessary jobs just to make more money. Also, when I later looked a the details of the invoice, I found an charge for a fuel injector cleaning fluid - which again I did not authorize.
When I left the dealership, I discovered the seat position, radio, and air conditioner settings had all been changed, all of which were unnecessary. After fixing those, I noticed the steering felt slightly different. At the time I thought it was probably due to road conditions as there has been a lot of road construction in the area. However the change in the steering feel persisted. At home I checked tire pressures and noticed a several pound difference in the front tires, so I concluded that they must have done yet another unauthorized procedure by changing tire pressure. While fixing that I discovered that THE TIRES HAD BEEN ROTATED DESPITE ME TELLING THEM NOT TO AND EVEN WHEN THE SERVICE REPRESENTATIVE TOLD ME THEY HAD NOT BEEN ROTATED. I went to another business, got the tires rotated back to the original positions, and the steering issue was fixed.
I have purchased two cars from Gay. My plans were to purchase another later this year. However, it will NOT be from Gay. Also, I will not return there for any service.

This is difficult for me to rate. On Friday (9/6), the service department completely replaced the WRONG bad tire, which could have caused me a major issue when I took a trip that evening through bad weather. However, on Saturday (9/7), the Service Manager was nice and got it corrected. Other than it wasted 2 hours of my time, thank you?

They had the lowest priced ad on compared to every other dealer i spoke with. Thats a plus for me. Good priced truck. Which was good for me because it was a time sensitive purchase and didnt care to negotiate. Way i see it, a great deal for them is a fair deal for me, fair deal for them is a great deal for me, good deal for them is a good deal for me. I walked away with a good deal which is all i ask for. Would shop here again in the future.
