As a parent that has had family members attend Bay Colony Children’s House for years, as well as my own children now, I have nothing but positive things to say! Starting with the teachers who my children absolutely love and are excited to go to a school everyday, and make us (parents) feel like family, to the directors who not only update you on what’s going on and willing to work with all children no matter the situation is amazing and puts my mind at ease. The directors always choose the right teachers (ones that make the Center feel like home)! If you are looking for a BABYSITTER, then this not the right path for you. But if you are looking for a Montessori Center that TEACHES your children to get ready for primary school as well love on them, this is the right place to go!

VERY UNPROFESSIONAL. my sister apply here last week and the manger had her work a shift without her deposit check information. she basically work for free…. it’s unacceptable. Another thing is that the district manger and also the other manger below her kept telling my sister that they would call her but never did after my sister was told that she had the job. Just today they called her and said she didn’t get the position… every odd when she worked for them a whole shift and also told her to come back another day to work for them, thats ridiculous. The miscommunication is crazy and they should do better as far as employment and interview.

This place is very unprofessional and lacks of communication skills. I basically did free labor for them this past Monday 9am-11am when they called me about coming in Thursday (tomorrow) covering a shift for a pregnant lady that works there without them having my direct deposit or any background checks completed, I told them I wouldn’t be coming in since no one has called me to discuss my application update/further details on my position the past two days. They called me back a few minutes later saying my position was taken and how there was many other ladies who would love to take the position I applied for. If that was the case, she would’ve never dragged me a whole week of confusion and time wasting on my part if she really had SO many girls who can work for her.

I recently inquired about enrolling my children in this day care. The requirement are you have to bring your child/children in when you tour so they can see their interactions with the staff and other children at the day care. That was the first red flag because children who are transitioning from one day care to another or from home to daycare, probably won't interact well with their peers or adults they don't know. So what happens if they don't? Will they tell you "I'm sorry but your kids can't come here." Then, they only do tours from 11-1 which means if you work a 8-5 and don't want to take pto you can't tour the school which means you can't enroll your children. Mind you this is a DAYCARE / Montessori school where you pay for your children to receive care. I just think that's a bit ridiculous.

I would never ever recommend this daycare. I promise you you will hate having to go drop your kids off here. Please keep looking I know the daycare across the street is always at capacity but try! Or there are some in Dickinson. I promise you, you will be way happier and less stressed in the long run.

I was hired here as an afternoon teacher about 5-6 years ago. It was an interesting experience. I still work in childcare (now on the administrative side) and I can honestly say that this place is run by people who care about children but have zero business acumen. They don't have a clue as to how to run a business or how to have good customer service. The fact that they would charge families for snacks and they would look for any way to collect more and more money without improving the quality of care is shady and ridiculous. I did not receive CPR certification while there and they did not require me to have pre-service training before allowing me into a classroom which is a Texas Minimum Standard. I only was employed for about 2 months because it was a second job for me and they just were not paying enough for it to be worth it to me.

My daughter has been enrolled at this facility since 2018. I am very happy with the care she receives here. The approach that this facility takes with children really emphasizes independence and I am very happy with the social and interpersonal skills she has developed while attending school here. The staff has been very open and considerate with any questions or concerns that I have had. And they are really motivated to work with parents so that the child is successful. Overall I feel like we have had a great experience with BCCH and my daughter looks forward to going to school.

Director is unable to care for kids that need a little more direction. If your child acts like a child then this isn’t a place for you. If your kid is a robot maybe it will workout for you.

We have been looking for a new daycare for my 2yr old. BCCH came across and we loved it. Director is amazing in explaining everything and going over all the questions we had . We ended up going to different daycare ( needed something close to work ) but if you are looking into daycares , please make sure to check this one out . Trust me , I did a lot of research and went to couple daycares in the area , but this one was the best so far .

My daughter has been going here since she was 12 weeks old and I could not be any happier with this daycare facility!!! She is now 21months old and I am amazed with how much they teach the kids from daily crafts , reading in small groups and even sign language!!! Not to mention the teachers, manager, and even the owner is soooo involved With the kids. I am truly grateful that I can be at peace at work and know they take care of my child. It's a great reassurance to know that I can trust everyone there and know my child at such an early age is being taught the things she knows!!! Overall great facility, clean, nice play ground, security code is needed to open any door and most importantly my daughter is always happy when I pick her up ! A big thumbs up !!!

We moved to Dickinson on August 2012 and we stayed in this area till Nov 2013. Before moving, I visited most the daycare centers in that area but we had chosen this one based on our visit and reviews on reviews on Texas government official website. Our first son faced some difficulties in the beginning till he used to it and this is expected. Since then, he loved the daycare and both my wife and myself liked too. What we liked most:- the manager is smiling most of the time and is very welcoming.- our kid learned colors, letters, numbers and many skills like putting on and taking off clothes.- the manager knows a lot about our kid as if he is the only kid. For example, we noticed that his appetite was low for few days and we did not know the reason. Then, she called me and told me that he had an ulcer on the side of his tongue and that was likely the reason. When we had our second son, we took to the same daycare and he was doing well as well. We moved out from Dickinson and we would love to take our kids back to the same daycare when we move back to Dickinson or around it.

My son started going to this daycare when he was 4 months old. At least twice a week he came home with scratches, bites and bruises no one could explain to me. They poured out over 80 ounces of my breast milk in one week. My son was here for 8 weeks, and that was entirely too long. Any time I had concerns, I would take it to the owner/director and they would make some kind of excuse for the behavior. And, they "lost" tuition payments. I would not recommend this daycare to anyone.
