Hidden fees beware! When I first bought it I had to argue w/the finance manager who tried to sneak in hidden charges and then mansplain basic math to me too - which clearly didn’t add up. As I was walking out to leave another manager re-did the paperwork to show the accurate cost without the hidden commission (on top of the commission they already make). Then when it came time to buy out my lease they scheduled an appointment at noon and said it should take 30 minutes as it’s quick and easy. FOUR hours later I still had not even started. It then took them a WEEK to finalize the paperwork. Unless you’re overpaying the customer service is the absolute worst. Go to Freeman Mazda - great customer service and worth the drive!

2016 Mazda 6 Touring
$4K in repairs. Vehicle is immobilized (still)
Mazda Denton unable to repair.
Told not to bring it back.
Mazda says just buy another Mazda. Really?
Beware if you are buying and getting service here.
Mazda Corporate does not care about you!
Neither will Mazda / Denton
UPDATE 09/10/24:
To their credit, Denton Mazda came and picked up the vehicle. Plus claim to be getting assistance from a factory tech from somewhere involved in the diagnosis. Where has this guy been?
Dealership gets a 1 star bump for not giving up.
Keep you posted.

We purchased our car there 8.5 years ago and have been servicing it there since. Since car has low mileage and requires minimum maintenance, we only have had maintenance items done - brakes, coolant flush, brake fluid flush, etc. What we noticed is that the price of these services is completely not transparent. The quoted cost can vary as much as 2x depending on who asks and when. Yesterday, I noticed a discrepancy on our service bill and called them out on it. Service person was Patsy and service manager was named Junior. Their reaction to that was beyond rude - they got caught trying to charge me $50 more than what was quoted in a service email sent to me from the mechanic. When politely asked about it they denied everything saying that the email with prices quoted is just informational and that their real prices are different (yet not displayed anywhere or quoted otherwise). Finally, they consented to the originally quoted (via email) price, but only to show utmost contempt for me by saying "here is your $50, happy?" and not even responding to my "thank you" and "goodbye". This is not the first time this has happened there. This happened repeatedly with service and last December with sales who refused to show me a new vehicle when I honestly told them I wasn't going to buy it that day, but was in the market for a new vehicle soon. Thankfully, there are many great choices of dealerships out there and Mazda is not the only car brand. Yesterday was the final straw. We are done with this dealership. Whenever you do any business with them insist on clear upfront pricing and make sure you shop around as their quoted maintenance prices can vary 100%.

*Update: the cx5's braking got smoother as I reached 11k miles. The transmission is weird in that if you know how to do a "limousine stop" this car might drive you a bit insane. It was super smooth when I bought it, got horrific and is now fairly good. Not sure what happened earlier on in my ownership I brake the same. The steering got progressively harder as the tires got worn in. The initial steering weight is good but it 100% gets heavier later on remember that. Maybe mazda doesn't realize new tires turn easier and tuned the steering around that. Might be why there are so many low miles used mazdas that are practically new. It's really heavy, I have to wear gloves that enhance grip to make the drive enjoyable. Might go for lambskin next. The extremely heavy steering at high speeds is totally unnecessary on texas highways which curve slightly over many miles for a LONG way it is very tiring to hold it at a slight angle the entire time. Jesus
Mazda is all about elegance and the drive. They seek to break into the luxury segment yet their flagship vehicle the CX5 brakes less smoothly than a 2nd hand multicab from Asia. Engineers either claim it isn't happening or it's "normal". Not everyone slams the brakes, I really do hope they realize that. This is a complete joke. And for reference, THIS ISN'T NORMAL. FIX IT!! ?
They did have 2 engineers go for a ride with me which was nice to demonstrate the issue but dang they really so honestly think this awful braking is normal or isn't happening. If this is normal, then whoever designed this and the QA team who saw it happening need to be fired. ?
I've had my hands on so many different cars I know how they're supposed to brake. I've even tried different transmissions. CVT, eCVT, manual, auto, let's be fair and compare auto to auto. When you brake and you foot isn't moving pressing it lightly it should slowly come to a stop right? NAW MAN the heck with that cx5 gotta play games with my sanity.
Seriously the excuses I heard today are just... ?
1. It's the suspension - wrong, in neutral the braking is smooth
2. It's you the driver - my foot is literally not moving so why is the car jerking again? Why should I have to slam the brakes?
3. It doesn't happen - really man? The whole damn car just shook like hell
4. (Denial phase) It's normal - NO, IT'S NOT.
You probably figured it out by now that I really want to make this car work or I would have ditched it by now. I have the money but quite frankly if it wasn't for the brakes this cx5 ****'s on its competition. Please fix it.

My husband and I bought a car at Denton Mazda this weekend. We shopped around at different dealerships, but Denton had the best price for the exact same car. Their attention was incredible. Our sales representative Josue Villaseñor was exceptional. He was friendly AND professional. He was patient and guided us through the entire process and didn't try to sell us anything we didn't need. Additionally, the entire process was in Spanish, our native language.

I am only sharing this as I received a text asking for feedback. Getting my car serviced here was beyond frustrating. My appointment was for 11:00 AM - car was not started until around 1:00 PM and I was out at 1:45 PM.
When asked, I was told that there is a flaw in the online scheduling system that does not cap out appointments once times are fully booked. Essentially, 25 people could book for 11 AM when really they only have space for 3 appointments.
If this is true, this seems like a pretty fundamental flaw in the system, particularly since I received an email encouraging me to schedule an appointment at my convenience online. This also seems like a flaw that can be fixed - most online scheduling services I use (doctors, haircuts, dog walkers) all have block out capabilities. Why don’t you?
Having said this, I will say that the people at Denton Mazda are still incredibly nice, friendly, and professional. I was apologized to several times for the inconvenience, but it seemed like it came with an unspoken caveat of “unfortunately, there’s really nothing we can do.”

They seemed to do a good job and the people were nice. Service was very slow though, and so I will probably not return.

I cannot believe how wonderful the service department is at Denton Mazda. We bought a used Mazda from a private seller and brought it here to get checked out. They were so thorough and even made videos for me that I could review later. There was also no pressure to do anything right then and there, which I was so grateful for. They even wiped down the interior with leather oil and washed the outside. On top of it, they didn’t charge me anything!
