There’s been a couple of times where he wasn’t exactly on location during business hours, so I would call before coming in, as he’s very responsive over phone.”

“On edit (8/30/24): Dave’s is BEYOND the best! I had an issue with my e-brake that would have been an expensive pain in the neck to get repaired. And on the Friday before Labor Day holiday? Oh, that makes things even worse. But even though they are busy today, they found time for me and Joey D, the mechanic who helped me, was helpful and kind and patient.
I love this shop. I will never go elsewhere. They are so kind, and so thorough in their work, and so neighborly—this is a local place, with their hearts right here in Austin—I will never go elsewhere.

Dave's Ultimate Automotive is THE BEST!
My parking brake was not working, and this started up just in time for state inspection. I was anxious about it and felt very grateful when someone in one of my Facebook neighborhood groups asked about reputable brake repair places here in Austin. Dave's got enthusiastic reviews, so I decided to try this shop.
They totally exceeded expectations. The front-line person who helped me, Mark, is a gem. So kind, so patient, so nice. Everyone in the front office jokes around, they have a good, mellow vibe, and they make you feel like everything is going to be fine.
The repair was expensive--new brakes, essentially--but they were prompt, Mark kept me in the loop and was generous with explanations of things, and I got my car back with excellent new brakes. I also now have a trustworthy local shop where I feel comfortable and confident in their services.
Thank you to everyone, from Mark and the friendly front-desk people to the mechanic who did such a great job on my car! (And yes, I did pass state inspection, no problems!)

“So I just got done having them check my alignment. First I have to say Javier is so trustworthy, integrity like you don't see anymore. Very respectful. I had gone over a bump recently and could feel something wrong with my steering/alignment, not all the time. Javier checked it and nothing wrong. He did not strange tread wear on rear tire. Even though he found nothing, he agreed to drive it. Immediately said it looks like unbalanced tire. He's sending me to someone they work with to check my tires. A pleasant experience and nice surprise. I cannot recommend highly enough. Lime the secret mechanic everyone wants. Not sure what else they do. Side note, there was a delay for them to get there but the wait was more than worth it for my peace of mind. 10 out of 5 stars

So, when I left, my weather floormats were missing, all 4. The kind that have lips to keep water off the floor. I thought about it. Not wanting to accuse anyone. And I won't. However I do have a suggestion. When I pulled in, a bit after 9. Javier wasn't there as I explained earlier. Jose, who I think is the caretaker, suggested I wait in the waiting room. I should have waited in my car. There's signs saying not responsible for lost or stolen property. I don't think either of them took them. But there are people walking around outside. Jose from what it seemed stayed in a corner of the shop and didn't have line of sight on my car. So in the 30 or more minutes I was in the waiting room anyone could have walked through the yard and taken my floor mats. So my suggestion is this, if your car isn't being worked on just stay with your car.”
“Our car wouldn’t start in our garage. I tried jump starting it, but the battery was too far gone. I called Luxury Auto and they immediately dispatched a truck to get my car. While replacing the battery, the mechanic noted several safety deficiencies to include the front brakes. They called and got my approval to replace and make the necessary repairs for the other deficiencies. My car was ready for pick up less than a day. The personnel and mechanics at Luxury Auto are top-notch. I highly recommend them!”
“Augie and his team of professionals are the Best. My car had the transmission rebuilt a year ago and it just started having an issue. I called him and not only did he come and pick up my car free of charge, he fixed it and had it back to me within a few days. If you're skeptical of this place, don't be. You get Quality work with great results and the prices are unmatched. His warranty is better than any other place I have found and you will be nothing less than Impressed. “Got a very detailed assessment with cost projection to investigate an AC issue on my 30 year old classic car. The crew worked on it and kept finding worn out parts and fixes for them. Even sent to repair vacuum tube for which we could not find a ready replacement. Finally, the work stopped because a part needed to come from an online retailer. The invoice was less than estimate because work is still pending.
What matters is that the shop owner and the front office folks work as a team. They are excellent communicators. Most of all they know their craft. I will take the car back when parts arrive. Obviously, I trust them.”
“I called them on a whim seeking businesses that do alignments. I spoke with Alex. He was very professional and friendly, he was also able to get me right in. Upon explaining my issues they were able to do a diagnostic to determine the issue. They were not quick to just do what I asked and take my money. They explained the cause and showed me the diagnosis on paper and then again made sure I understood and approved of any work before performing. Professional, efficient, friendly, and honest.”
“We can't thank Alex and his team enough for his evaluation after we were told by another shop that our transmission was shot. Including Covert Chevrolet in Hutto denying warranty coverage for a truck with less then 60K miles. Alex and his team determined that they could not find the problem both stipulated and denied. His and Aamco's recognition and appreciation of our Son's Disabled Combat Veteran status and determination to help us to not spend money we did not need too is well appreciated.

After moving to Austin over the last 6 years I've been in through a number of highly reviewed mechanics hoping there was at least one left thats honest, hardworking and knowledgable. After purchasing a F350 6.0 Turbo Diesel (that had a number of aftermarket modifications), I knew I had my work cut out.
