“I would not recommend this hotel because it is not located in a good part of Austin. While at the hotel we saw several sketchy people wandering around the outside of hotel as well right beside the hotel is a liquor/smoke shop. I booked the hotel because I wanted a hotel close to the airport because I was flying out at 5am the next morning and thought this hotel would be a good option. The reviews looked pretty good except for a couple and the price seemed ok. The pictures of the outside were very misleading as once you get to the hotel, it looks a bit rundown on the outside. Once we got to the hotel we instantly didn’t feel safe and tried to cancel but the staff said it couldn’t be cancelled and I told the staff why we didn’t want to stay (which was for our safety, as we were two young girls by ourselves), but I still couldn’t be refunded. I was severely disappointed because at that point I had not been charged for the hotel but had to pay anyways because that was their policy. Also the price for one king bed is $98 which is too high of a price for the area this hotel is located in. The front desk woman was friendly and understanding but that was the only good thing about this hotel :/”

“This hotel was one of the best I've ever stayed at. The staff was so nice and very helpful with everything we needed to explore austin and have a great time. Our valet Nico helped us pack our bags in our car. We overall had a wonderful experience. I will definitely be back with my family for a wonderful stay and that perfect view of the capitol.”

“Excellent experience -- highly recommend staying here. Great location (easy to get around, even without a car the whole time), walking distance to multiple restaurants and stores, and low noise even though our room faced the street. The room was beautiful, the hotel was super clean, and the staff were so helpful. I will definitely stay here again.”

“Terrific hotel in a fantastic location with an inviting lobby and outdoor space that makes you feel at home. The staff is top notch with many of them being there for decades so definitely use them as a resource for inquries about the city. And dinner in the hotel restaurant (Ciclo) is great also; don't miss out on the yummy empanadas ??
June 2024 update: returned to not only find some of the same vibrant staff here, but discovered new amazing amenities like the champagne vending machine ? ?”

“We had our room block here at Austin Marriott Downtown this past weekend for our wedding and it was BEYOND amazing! The staff was incredible, helpful, and so easy to work with! They were so accommodating and made sure everything was seamless and organized. Special shout out to JORDAN for being so helpful and organized at all times! We couldn't have done it without her. Everyone loved the location and amenities. Kirby (I believe that was his name) at Zanzibar, was amazing and above and beyond as well. Thank you all!”

“This was our second visit to Park Lane Guest House and we just love this place! It's so relaxing and peaceful. The breakfasts are to die for! You couldn't ask for a better location. An easy walk to S. Congress and all the action but far enough away that you feel like you are in a completely different location. We will be back!”

“We love staying at the Colton House- we always look to stay here when visiting family here in Austin. You cannot beat the roommate and accommodations, the building so clean and trendy and beautifully done- and decisions pastries and cocktails you can enjoy by the pool. We will be back over and over again.”

“We love E 6th in general, but this has to be the best addition in a long time! It has an awesome view and good cocktails (strong), my only complaint is too much garnish and I don’t love the plastic cups. It can get VERY crowded so I definitely recommend going earlier in the evening or during the week. It has an exclusive speakeasy vibe which makes it feel really cozy. Perfect spot for pictures, enjoying the sunset, or taking out of towners for the city views.”

“My Wife and I stayed at the Hampton this past weekend and was very impressed with the overall condition and the courteous of the staff, especially with Rose Brown-Weeder. She was absolutely great and so helpful. We had our Golden Retriever with us and you would had thought he was the most important creature in Austin. Shadow was treated like royalty and everyone knew him by first name. The Hampton will be my motel in Austin from now on.”

“100000/10 place. Couldn’t recommend enough! I booked this place in May for my sisters college graduation. Unfortunately, I had one of the worst travel days of my life that had me coming in for 12 hours later than what I was supposed to. Because of that, I probably spent 8 hours total at the place and they went above and beyond for me and my sister. They gave us free champagne because I was keeping them up to date on my travels, some cute lil goodies for us and a beautiful hand written note letting us know those things were on the house and they were so sorry about my travel day. AMAZING staff, excellent communication, beautiful hotel and really great location to go bop around. I will always stay at this hotel when I come to Austin!!! You guys are the best and should have a 5/5 on Google for how well you treat your guests. Thank you!!!”

“I came with some clients and had a bit of a wrinkle with the check-in staff due to an oversight on their end, however, I - and my clients - truly enjoyed our stay here. The hotel is lovely, easy to navigate, great restaurants and food options, room service was fantastic. I would love to stay here again. The location is perfect if you're doing things downtown/south Austin/ UT campus - anywhere really. It's right off I-35. Highly recommend!!”

“Outstanding Service and Unforgettable Stay at The Carpenter Hotel

Our recent stay at The Carpenter Hotel in Austin, Texas, was truly unforgettable, and much of that is thanks to the exceptional service provided by the staff, especially Joseph at the front desk.

From the moment we checked in, Joseph’s warmth and professionalism stood out. He greeted us with a friendly smile and immediately made us feel welcome. Throughout our stay, Joseph consistently went above and beyond to ensure we were comfortable and had everything we needed. Whether it was offering thoughtful suggestions for local attractions, promptly attending to our requests, or just checking in to see how our day was going, Joseph’s genuine care and attention to detail made a significant difference in our experience.

What impressed us most was Joseph’s ability to anticipate our needs before we even asked. It’s rare to encounter someone who is so attuned to guests’ needs and who can make you feel so valued and cared for. His deep knowledge of the hotel and the surrounding area was incredibly helpful, and his personalized recommendations really enhanced our visit to Austin.

In addition to Joseph, we also want to recognize Carole and James, who were equally wonderful. Carole’s insights into local spots were spot-on, and James was always there to assist with a friendly attitude. Together, they created an atmosphere that was warm, welcoming, and incredibly accommodating.

The Carpenter Hotel itself is a gem in Austin – stylish, comfortable, and perfectly situated for exploring the city. The rooms are beautifully designed with a unique flair that reflects Austin’s eclectic vibe, and the on-site amenities are top-notch.

In summary, our stay at The Carpenter Hotel was made extraordinary by the remarkable service from Joseph, Carole, and James. We left with wonderful memories and can’t wait to return. If you’re looking for a place to stay in Austin, look no further than The Carpenter Hotel – and be sure to say hello to Joseph”

“The only reason for a 4 star location was simply because it's not anything uniquely locatedBut it is very convenient for being by the airport. The beds were amazing, black out curtains, clean rooms and bathroom with plenty of counter space, big TV to check the weather out easily when getting ready to leave. I'd recommend this to anyone.”

“Small beautiful hotel with complementary coffee, tea, beer, and wine 24/7. As another commenter said it’s like living in a modern art museum. Micheal and the staff there are always ready to help in any way. The location is fantastic, walking distance to everything South Congress has to offer. Highly recommend Suite A, it’s in the back of the hotel. It has a huge shower and separate tub.”

“The front desk staff were so accommodating. I forgot a form and they let me email it and printed me a few extra copies to keep in my bag. Then I had to leave a night early. They told me it was no problem and promptly sent my bill minus the other night. I would 10/10 recommend this hotel if you need a clean airport hotel with large rooms and kind staff.”

“If you're 25 years old and looking for a fun, quirky place to stay on Congress while you party your face off, this is a perfect place for you! I'm a seasoned business traveler so it's not necessarily my vibe but to each their own. The staff is very nice and attentive, but the rooms have seen better days. Again, if you're drunk, you probably won't notice the frayed towels or the mold in the shower. The lobby is very cute and hits the mid-century-modern-meets-kitch notes quite well.”

“This place was awesome!! The lobby was great!! Couches, chairs, pool table, foose ball, and games!! They also had a little market with snack drinks, beer, and wine!! Open 24 hrs. Super mellow and everyone was very friendly!! Front desk staff was on point with all our needs and was also friendly and informative about local places etc. I was very impressed!!Rooms were also nice, a little on the small side, but the mattress were amazingly comfortable. Walk in shower was clean and had good pressure.Breakfast was pretty good, we got there close to closing but there were still hot eggs and sausage. Cute little pancake maker and good selection of milk and juice. There could have been more options for bread/bagels/ muffins. But perhaps that was just cause we got there towards the end.All and all this place was nicer than expected and perfect for an airport layover.Rooms: Small but clean and well equippedFood & drinks: Great 24 hr store in lobbyNoteworthy details: Awsome pool table / game area”
