I loved this bank when it was Security State Bank, Post Oak, and Allegiance. However, since it has been “Stellar” it has been anything but stellar. I went in to open a small business account one Thursday at lunch (as I already had a personal account there) and was told it’s too long of a process to make me wait so, I was told I would be called once it was open. That call came about 5 hours later (after I had already called a couple hours after) to say they couldn’t open it that day as they needed a letter from the comptroller which I already had and emailed to them while on the phone. By the end of the next day I never heard back so I called back. I was given a bunch of reasons for why they had not done it yet and told that they might be able to open it the next Monday. I get that things come up sometimes, but to not even bother emailing me an update was the part that annoyed me. Realizing that this poor service was going to be a reoccurring theme I decided to say “don’t worry about it.” Furthermore, their systems had issues today that locked me out of my account. I called, had it unlocked, still wouldn’t work. I started calling back about 5 minutes before they close and had 2 instances where I could hear the phone pick up, I could hear people talking in the background a couple seconds, then was disconnected. I continued calling back, then decided to try calling from a different phone. That different number was answered and I was given the customary “stellar bank” before I said “this is Trent again” then was told they closed at 6 luckily the person that answered was kind enough to try sending a passcode that never came through and confirmed for me that the last 2 transactions I had scheduled out of the account went through. Fortunately I was only confirming that so I could plan to be there to finally close the account tomorrow morning. This bank hasn’t been “Stellar” long but has felt like an eternity. Prosperity bank is so much better and at least I can access my account there, maybe the old 24/7 customer service under the previous names had me spoiled but, I don’t like not having access to my bank account, having to beg to open an account, or being hung up on twice.
