After a month of great pain, an X-ray, an MRI and a Spine Surgeon evaluation, I was referred to the Chronic Pain Relief center and Dr. Abdelfattah for a spinal steroid injection. I was confused at a pain center referral as I thought this was a relatively straightforward procedure but have since learned why this was the correct path. I was also confused at the need to schedule a consult first as I was very much afraid that this would delay treatment as pain was increasing and greatly impacted my ability to sleep or even sit down for a meal. As it turns out, this is pretty much a legal requirement for pain center treatments. Lots of online releases and other forms but they did not take a long time to complete. The spine center referral was on a Friday afternoon and I painfully waited until Monday morning to schedule the first appointment. I was greatly relieved that, as long as I was flexible on locations, could be seen Wednesday at their Frisco location (in the Baylor building next to the Star Center.) That went very well with Dr. A and I met with the scheduler for the next challenge; the procedure itself! As it turns out, I was scheduled for the next morning!!!!! So, at their Plano location, and, after a couple more forms and verification that I did indeed have a driver due to anesthesia, I was out of the office an hour later. No immediate pain relief but the general expectation is 1-3 days. Well, no. I took my victory nap after getting home and, surprisingly, was able to sit up out of bed for the first time in 4 weeks (YMMV)! Still painful but 50% reduced from that very painful morning. Ending up taking a long walk and things got even better. As I write this, I'd say pain is down 80% and I expect my best sleep in ages tonight. Many thanks to Dr A and his group.

In the health care field everything moves very fast and everyone assumes you know what is happening. I can say I'm very mixed about this whole process but Dr A is fantastic at his job. Because of that, he is very busy! At my first appointment I waited an hour to see him for meds than 5 mins. My appointment was in Frisco and he said we could start with a back injection and that's when I learned he actually operates out of another location, 45 mins from my house when there's no traffic. I show up to my first injection appt, I'm whisked in and out. Less than 13 mins. When I left I did not receive aftercare instructions and I wasn't even clear what type of injections i had received. I know immediately whatever injection this was, isn't working. At my 2 week follow up I expressed how disappointed I was at the results and that's when I learned these first injections were only diagnostic in nature. And from the lack of pain relief, we can now be "more aggressive". Another injection is scheduled, this time only on my right side. This time I show up to the appointment and wait almost an hour before it's my turn. Once I got to the back it was pretty quick process. Start in a patient room and have vitals taken. Moved to the injection room to get the IV hooked up (always in the hand, ouch) and given some oxygen. The nurse administrator one the anesthesia completely blew my vein and Dr A ended up poking my in my left hand with no issue. Had to respect that because at this point I hadn't eaten or drank anything for almost 16 hours. Once again in and out real fast, 20 mins maybe but this time I asked for after care instructions. (Not sure why I had to ask) and also, my follow up was scheduled without asking me if it was ok. They scheduled my 5 min follow up in the Dallas location, that's not gonna work for a person who lives and works close to the frisco office. 3 days later, pain slightly diminished, altogether not really happy with the results. Overall, Dr A is great, the staff are adequate, the Frisco location is a borrowed office from another practice and the Dallas office is very nice but in a sketchy area.

I got a very serious 2nd degree burn across my forearm. The ER doctor told me I needed to use a specific ointment. Unfortunately everywhere I went was out. My cousin gave me the number to Rite Care. I called right before they closed and asked if they had any and said I’d pick them up in the morning. They had multiple tubes set aside waiting for me and were very nice and quick.
